How much wisdom do you think it takes to not grab a hot stove?! If it would burn your feet the it will burn your hand. I got enough out of the passage for it to make sense to me...??

If you were a two-year-old or had never seen a stove, you might grab one, or out of carelessness. I'm sure it happens.

Not so fast, you asked a good question so to hear what responses come from it will be interesting!

I personally am of the mind that any question by can be answered by scripture at least in the proclamation of a spiritual principle. In my experience, Proverbs and Psalms are our go to books for this?! Like this for instance:



Let's take a look in Proverbs and see if we can find a biblical principle which may answer this question!

Proverbs 6:27-28
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?.../KJV

Weeellll! How about that?! I think this biblical principle does answer that question?!

It's been awhile since I got burned. But even then it wasn't like I didn't know any better, they were accidents. A problem arose where wisdom did not play a part in it, something else did. Like hurrying or not paying attention to what I'm doing.

I must've reached out and grabbed some hot thing when I was a kid when I did not know any better. Oh! That's what that means! It's hot means, it hurts! And I became wiser!

I heard the same thing. It must help it to not scar or something because it doesn't have anything to do wit soothing it or relieving pain. Ask me how I know!

I was reaching for a coffee pot on an open fire and the wind changed and blew the flames right on to my hand, and it hurt I doused it with butter like they say you should but I don't remember less pain, I remember more pain!

Oh so I did miss your point! Sorry. He told me that before when we was talking. and made some sort of remark about our obedience is more important than our understanding. And I thought about that, just not when I was reading your post! He also said that He wants every one of His Believers to learn how to hear His still soft voice, and to obey immediately.

I had to learn that one the hard way.

I don't think the Bible tells us not to put our hand on a hot stove.

The Bible is not very specific about a lot of things, but it covers a wide variety of topics. It's almost missing a lot of topics. It's also extremely abbreviated sometimes.

specific topics? Yes it does not address legions of topics.
but as for principles that will guide our decision making for every topic? It is spot on and gives the foundation and principles needed to make right decisions.
