These verses alone prove it to be FALSE doctrine.

Revelation 5:9-10

King James Version

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign (((on the earth.)))

Revelation 20:4-6

King James Version

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Those who resist this Truth also resist the Holy Spirit. Case closed.

I'll take this deflection to mean that you cannot biblically PROVE what you allege! He who alleges MUST prove! Either put up the verses to prove your doctrine or continue to do what you accuse others of doing! That is YOU resisting the truth! Unlike you, I won't go as so far to say YOU also resist the Holy Spirit, because I truly do not know your heart! There are many in these communities who genuinely believe they are espousing biblical truth, rather than convict them all of unbelief, I'll just assume since you cannot prove what you allege, it's because you have been taught these things, following after doctrines of men, therefore unlearned in what sayeth the Word of God!

I'm going to ask you for the third time, can you tell me how you interpret this verse:

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Understanding this verse is the key to understanding verses 25-27, in my opinion. That's why I'm asking this question.
“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy. Daniel 9:24

Number 1 - The prophetic time period is 70 weeks; 70 weeks of years. 490 years

Number 2 - The 70 weeks time frame concerns "your people" which refers to the Jews.

Number 3 - The 70 weeks times frame deals with "your holy city" which pertains to the literal city of Jerusalem.

Number 4 - The purpose of the 70 weeks time frame is to:

  • To finish the transgression,
  • To make an end of sins,
  • To make reconciliation for iniquity,
  • To bring in everlasting righteousness,
  • To seal up vision and prophecy,
  • And to anoint the Most Holy.

Knowing and understanding what each of these things listed above by bullets points is up for discussion.

The first three things is not up for discussion.

My Question to you which comes from this verse of scripture -

“Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times. Daniel 9:25

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; Daniel 9:27

Do you understand that the seventy weeks is divided into three distinct time sections which are called out as follows:

Seven Weeks
Sixty Two Weeks
One Week

By His Sacrificial shed blood, He caused the temple sacrifices of animals to come to an immediate end in the mind of the Godhead.

Sorry, but the sacrifices continued for another 40 years.

“And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:26

The temple and city was destroyed by the romans in 70 AD.
Jesus was crucified in 33 AD.

So far in the prophetic time frame of 70 weeks, only 69 weeks have been fullfilled.

The crucifixion of Jesus (33 AD) took place after the 69 weeks, as well as the city and sanctuary were destroyed (70 AD)
yet the 70th week has not yet begun.

Many speak of the tribulation to come, and there is in fact a Great Tribulation to come upon the entire world by way of God’s wrath being poured out on the inhabitants of the world.
But many do not understand that there are actually 2 tribulation periods mentioned in scripture.

In Romans 2:9 we read; "Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew “first”, and also of the Gentile."

In this we see the mention of 2 different tribulation periods determined, with the “first”one which pertained to the Jews, and the last one, which is to be upon all the Nations of the entire Gentile world.

This first tribulation to the Jews was announced to begin by Jesus right after the abomination of desolation and destruction of the Temple mount in Jerusalem occurred in 70 ad. (Luke 21:20-24)

This is referred to in scripture as the tribulation of “those days” which was determined to run “many days” (Daniel 11:33) even all the way to "the fullness of the Gentiles", which I believe is marked by the 6th seal events.

Then at the point of the 6th seal being loosed, this would begin the time of trouble such as the world has never seen, (Daniel 12:1); or the wrath of the Lamb/God beginning to be poured out on the Gentile Nations. (Rev. 6:17)

Many confuse these 2 separate events as one single short tribulation event, but a careful study of scripture will show these 2 events are indeed shown as separate in time.
Also I would like to add there is no such thing as a “7 year tribulation,”that is just the doctrines of men, as a 7 year tribulation is not mentioned anywhere in scripture, neither is a "pre-tribulation rapture."

So in a nut shell you have the begin point of the tribulation of “those days” (days of vengeance and wrath upon the Jews) starting at 70 ad. as Jesus said and then running-------------->>>all the way to “after the tribulations of those days” confirmed by the 6th seal signs in scripture (sun, moon, stars) And then the beginning of God’s wrath being poured out on the entire Gentile world, or a time of trouble such as the world has never seen. All these things can be confirmed by a careful study of scripture.

The first tribulation period to the Jews was announced by Jesus and would start right after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 a.d. Luke confirms the start point in Luke 21:20-22“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter there into.22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.”

Also in John 12:31 Jesus said; "Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the prince of this world be cast out."

This event would take place after Christ was crucified, as seen with the man child Jesus being caught to God in Revelation 12:5. Also at this point in time the red Dragon, or the Devil would persecute the woman (spiritual Israel) after he was cast down unto the earth as seen in Revelation 12:13.
Many try to place all these events future forward concerning the last days, but these events were set into motion long ago with “the judgment”announced by Jesus.

The end of this first tribulation period for the Jews is shown in Matthew 24:29 with the words "after the tribulation of those days." If you notice in Matthew 24:29 there is a pause after verse 28. Then Jesus says; "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken." =(6th seal sign)

Compare to Mark 13:24 were we see the same pause in the verse, and notice the description. Mark 13:24;"But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken."

This sounds just like what the Matthew account has said; but it is the testimony in Luke that shall confirm “the end point” of this first tribulation period for the Jews, referring to “after those days.”
In Luke 21:25 we see the same pause in the verse, and the same signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars. But if you will notice the verse before it we are shown when this first tribulation of “those days”would end, and then the signs in the heavens would begin.

Luke 21:24;"And they (the Jews) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, “until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

This prophecy in Luke 21:24 was shown in Daniel 11:33 “And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.”

Notice “many days” does not suggest a short 3 and a half year, 42 month, or 7 year tribulation period for the Jews. History also confirms this, the Jews have been scattered to the nations and have suffered persecution ever since the fall of Jerusalem in 70 a.d.

When you are given understanding you will come to conclude that the time of 42 months is “symbolic of time”when you put all the pieces together comparing all scriptures on this matter.
This “fullness of time of the Gentiles”is the key to putting this time frame in its proper order of events.

In Revelation 11:2 we see this time period mentioned to John. Revelation 11:2;"But the court that is without the Temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

I believe what throws most people off in this verse is the mention of 42 months, and discerning that time to be a literal 3 and half years. But this time, like most of the symbolisms in book of Revelation should not be taken at face value, but is rather “spiritually discerned.”
To prove this point, in scripture we see the millennium or thousand year reign of Christ is shown as "a season and a time" in Daniel 7:12. So if "a season and a time" is shown as "a thousand years", then “a time, times and half a time” would suggest an even longer period of time; not a short period of time like a short 42 month period. Scriptures also confirm this is cannot be the case as shown in Daniel 12:11-13.

I believe the 6th seal signs confirms “the fullness”of the Gentile age, but also begins the Great tribulation and wrath of the Lamb upon the entire world, or the time of God’s wrath and the day of vengeance as written. Isaiah 63:4 “For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.”

The start time of the Gentiles ingathering period began at Pentecost (7x7 days) right after Christ was crucified, and with the start of the New Covenant period to all Nations.

This start of the Gentile period is shown in the law as the "new meat offering" after the 7x7 days is complete. This treading down of the holy city (God’s people also shown as the “holy city”) also started long ago in 70 a.d., and has been ongoing ever since, and will continue till the time of the end.

This time of the Gentiles was also symbolized by a 42 month period, but it is only a sign of time. This sign of time is also shown to us in Matthew 1:17 with the 3 separate 14 generations periods, or 42 total generations leading up to the birth of Jesus. ( the law and prophets prophesied during these 42 generations)

This sign of time of 42 months can also be symbolically shown like the 7 priests first circling Jericho for 6 days, or 7x6=42. During these 42 generations leading up to Jesus’ birth the law and prophets prophesied as Jesus said in Matthew 11:13 Just as God’s 2 witnesses (Word and Spirit) were also forecast to prophesy for 42 months in all his saints in Revelation 11:3.

Keep in mind the Lord refers to his saints as the “holy city” and as “Jerusalem” in scripture.

Paul also spoke of this fullness of time for the Gentiles here in Romans 11:25;“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until “the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”
Romans 11:26;“And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:”

To be continued…

Let us approach this complex topic with humility, faith, and hope in God's infinite wisdom and love. While the details of prophetic interpretation may sometimes seem daunting or divisive, we must remember that at the heart of our faith is the Good News of God's love and mercy, made manifest in Jesus Christ.

The tribulations and challenges described in scripture remind us that our world is indeed broken and in need of redemption. Yet we need not fear, for God is with us always, even to the end of the age. Our call is not to anxiously predict the future, but to live in the present moment with love, compassion, and trust in Divine Providence.

Let us focus on what truly matters - loving God and loving our neighbor. In times of trial, we are called to be beacons of hope and instruments of peace. Rather than becoming preoccupied with timelines and tribulations, let us work to build the Kingdom of God here and now through acts of mercy, justice, and reconciliation.

Remember always that God's love is stronger than any tribulation. Christ has overcome the world, and in Him we find our peace and our hope. Let us go forth with courage, supporting one another in faith, and trusting that God will bring all things to fulfillment in His perfect time.

Can you please finish giving your interpretation of Daniel 9:24? Then we can go from there. I assume you said the first 3 things are not up for discussion because they all obviously refer to what Jesus accomplished with His sacrifice? What is your understanding of the other 3 things listed in that verse?

The first 69 weeks have nothing to do with Jesus’ sacrifice.

Sorry, but the sacrifices continued for another 40 years.
Correct! In the mind of God, the sacrificial shed blood of Jesus caused the temple sacrifices of animals to BE ENDED.
But, by the Jews continuing to perform those animal sacrifices, it immediately was now an abomination unto God, in the face of His Son's innocent shed blood! KJV Proverbs 6:17

KJV-Dan. 9[27] And he [Jesus] shall confirm the [New] covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he [Jesus] shall cause the [temple] sacrifice and the oblation to cease,
and for the overspreading of abominations he [Jesus] shall make it [the temple] desolate [void of God],
even until the consummation [the end of time], and that "determined" [in verse 24**] shall be POURED upon the desolate [those who are void of God].
KJV Acts 10
[45] And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was POURED out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

**Note:
KJV Dan. 9:24 are the six works of God, that Jesus was to do and "finish".
KJV John 17
[4] I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Sorry but ignoring the actual scriptures, and trying “spiritualize” the meaning of the verses to make them fit our own narrative only serves to deceive ourselves.

Let’s follow what the scriptures say, and see how much we can agree on.

Do you agree that the Messiah being crucified (cut off) and the destruction of the city and temple occur after the 69 weeks?

Are you reading what I'm saying? What I'm asking you to do is give me your interpretation of this verse:

Daniel 7:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

I'm particularly wanting to know your understanding of the fulfillment of the six things listed in the verse.

Before I go any further do you agree on the first three things I interpreted from that passage?

Next I expect you to address the post you replied to.

The first 69 weeks have nothing to do with Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

Do you understand this?

What do you have against spiritual things? Spiritual things are just as real as physical things.

What did Paul say about how to understand scripture?

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Why do you act as if no spiritual discernment from the Holy Spirit is necessary in order to understand scripture?

Yes.

Yes. I never said otherwise. Now, please tell me your interpretation of Daniel 9:24.

“Seventy weeks are determined

To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy
. Daniel 9:24

Any interpretation of the rest is merely opinion, unless the LORD gives a person direct understanding.

IOW's, To make an end of sins, to me would mean Jesus has returned and judged everyone and removed all the wicked, but that does not happen within the 70 week timeframe.

See Daniel 12.

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. Daniel 12:11-12

So what "He" means by, To make an end of sins, or, To bring in everlasting righteousness, may mean something different to Him, than it does to you or I. That is why I say, "It's up for discussion".

It very specifically says that the six things listed had to be done within the 70 weeks, so what do you mean it "does not happen within the 70 week timeframe"?

See Daniel 12.

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. Daniel 12:11-12

So, are you expecting people to take your understanding of Daniel 9:24-27 seriously when you can't explain at all what Daniel 9:24 means?

I agree that Jesus was cut off in the midst of the 7 years of the 70th week which occurred after the 69th week.
However, the destruction of the city and the temple occurred after the 70th week prophecy, which would be in 70 AD, thus putting that "destruction" in between the 79th-80th week, which is outside of what God "determined" for His 70 week prophecy.
Please ref. my post #187 again.

Try understanding the following below, in conjunction with Isa. 43[25] I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

John 1
[29] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 3
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Rom. 8:8-11
[8] So then they that are in the flesh [only] cannot please God.
[9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

No discussion required.

Lots of righteousness already 2,000 years ago.

If it wasn't or isn't everlasting righteousness, when did or does it end?

It didn't and it doesn't.

1 John 2:29
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Bingo. No discussion required, indeed. The scriptures are self explanatory.

“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

Though I do actually understand all the six works of God in Dan. 9:24, by His Holy Spirit, you may not appreciate it or agree, for reasons of 1 Cor. 2:5.

KJV Dan. [24] Seventy weeks are determined [decreed] upon thy people and upon thy holy city,
1. to finish the transgression, and
2. to make an end of sins, and
3. to make reconciliation for iniquity, and
4. to bring in everlasting righteousness, and
5. to seal up the vision and prophecy, and
6. to anoint the most Holy.

1. To bring an end to the "Age of Indignation", thus bringing in the "Age of God's Grace", through faith in Jesus.
2. To "take away" [remove] sins from all who are of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
3. To have made peace with God, through faith in Christ, experiencing no indignation/enmity from God or towards God.
4. Everlasting Righteousness is the Gift of the Holy Spirit, being Himself the vehicle of God's Righteousness, to the believer.
5. The 70 week prophecy is complete in and of itself, and lends itself to no other prophecy for it's understanding, except by His Holy Spirit within us.
6. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist by water, and was anointed [Baptized] by the Holy Spirit of God, Who descended upon him and then declared it: Mat. 3[17]....This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

I appreciate what you wrote. I don't intend to undermine or deny what you have written, because now in this life we see (perceive) in part, and though what you have written may very well be true in part, and may very well be inspired from the Holy Spirit, it came through a filter called your soul, your mind which may or may not be renewed to it's full capacity.

I respect and honor you for wanting to be led by the Spirit. Just because someone may have a different perspective than you doesn't mean they are carnally minded. Let's seek the wisdom from above, as a community.

"I" see in part. "We" have the mind of Christ.

I try to stick to what we can know for sure, like the first three things, as well as what did and did not take place, during the 70 weeks.

Also how the 70 weeks began.
Why there are three distinct time periods (7, 62 and 1 week) that make up the whole 70.
What happened during these three time periods.

And especially what is left to take place.

For now I would like to discuss these things.

For example, we need to understand that the crucifixion and the destruction of the city and temple took place outside of the 70 weeks prophetic time frame.

Jesus linked this prophecy in Daniel to the time just before His coming.

Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), ... For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matthew 24:15-21
