The first man Adam was of the earth, earthy..........the second Adam became a quickening spirit. Jesus was not a "mere" man because He came from above, unlike the first Adam. And it is necessary to believe that He came from above, sent by the Father. God is not telling anyone to put their faith and trust in a mere man because the bible says cursed is everyone who trusts in man.The revealed nature of Christ by the Apostles is suitable for Jesus being the first fruits and second Adam. His importance vanishes regarding our guarantee of our inheritance as soon as one speculates he is anything but a mere man.
Jhn 16:27-28
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father
But no-one can believe/receive this without the Holy Spirit....ye must be born again. To reject His deity is to reject Him, who He was and is.
