It's interesting that you feel the need to erect a strawman in order to combat against the word of God. No-one, we'll, at least me, is claiming that the Roman Empire is alive and well today. However, there are some who believe it will come back through the nations of Europe. I subscribe to neither theory. . There are little details in prophecy most people gloss over and do not realize that those little details can become keys to understanding the whole thing. For example. Let me quote Daniel, remembering that the beast Daniel speaks of here is the composite beast of Revelation 13, which is the little horn all grown up and matured. So back to Daniel...

What I showed in my post is only interesting to those who understand it from Bible Scripture as written.

What you are following is FROM MEN, and not from God's Word. Anyone can take a Bible Scripture and add all sorts of fantasies to it like those you listen to have done.

I am saying the little horn is a singular end times person
Whom to believe?

1. @Douggg who espouses the "singular end times person" futurized fabrication of the apostate papacy's counter-Reformation Jesuit Francisco Ribera
2. The Reformers, whom God raised up and called into spiritual battle to liberate His True Church from the spiritual darkness and oppression of the apostate papal little horn

Who wants a hint?

Riberra has nothing to do with what I have posted.

You are not addressing the question I asked in my post #340.

Who are the beast and the false prophet in Revelation 19:20 ?

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

You espouse antichrist to be "a singular end times person".

Ribera beat you to it more than 400 years ago. Dispens have fallen for it ever since they appeared in the 19th century.

@Brakelite has ably answered your question.

Christ's origin had no mother, no father, no beginning or end of days
If Christ is the Son of God as you have said previously, then God must be His Father right? So He does have a Father, and He must have a beginning, because He was God's Son, begotten before creation, because all things, without exception, were created by Him and for Him.
Dispens have fallen for it ever since they appeared in the 19th century.
Only to add a variety of personal adaptations to suit one's individual readings of Scripture. It's all a fine mess is what it is.

Jesus returns to the Mt of Olives and not Rome because the Rome issue is finished and done with 1000 years before the New Jerusalem descends and settles on earth.... in a1000 years or so from now. Jesus does not touch the earth when He comes soon, He takes His bride home to His Father.
That above in red of course is another lie from men's false doctrine of a pre-tribulational rapture, an idea first preached in 1830's Great Britain by John Nelson Darby.

Jesus' feet will touch down upon the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, ON EARTH, AS WRITTEN in Zechariah 14. Because you LIE against that Zechariah 14 Scripture it means you actually DO NOT support The Word of God, but are here to deceive.

Zech 14:4-5
4 And
His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah:
and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with Thee.

There is a common fault among many contributors to this forum, being the common presumption held by many that they know what others believe without asking. Where in the above post, or in any of my nearly thousand posts on this forum, have I ever supported the pre-trib. rapture theory?

Again, you presume to know what I believe and are now accusing me of lying with a deliberate attempt to deceive. Ouch. You are clearly a very clever insightful discerning individual who can read others minds. I'm fully impressed. Not.

ANY... idea that Jesus comes to rapture His Church and take them to Heaven is a doctrine from men, specifically the false Pre-trib Rapture theory. You can try and hide your belief in it, but your words describing it will always betray you.

Complete ignorance.

More errant shots from the lip.

No Reformer had ever heard of a pretrib rapture.

It did not appear until more than two centuries after the Reformation.

@Brakelite recognizes and understands the Reformation.

You don't.

Brakelite's above idea IS... from man's FALSE Pre-trib Rapture theory, because their false doctrine wrongly says Jesus' does NOT literally return to this earth to reign over all nations, literally, but instead bounces... back up into Heaven with His raptured Church to rule from there, which idea is NOWHERE written in God's Word. Jesus comes back to this earth, to rule from Mount Zion, as written in the Old Testament prophets.

And Jesus returning back to this earth, to reign ON THIS EARTH, with His elect, is what the Protestant Reformers believed, and still believe to this day.

Jesus and His people will live on and reign on the earth, as Jesus said, the meek shall inherit the earth. But not yet. And not at the second coming. At the second coming all the plagues and the power and glory of Christ and the angelic host devastates and destroys everything on the planet and leaves it as rubble and ruin and utterly uninhabitable. It isn't for another 1000 years, with the earth remaining empty and void and only the devil and his angels present, that Christ and His Church return in the New Jerusalem which then sets down on the Mtof Olives, all the wicked are raised to have their final judgment and execution, fire destroys them all and the earth is made new on the ashes of the old. I could provide many back up verses to show this, but I'm not convinced you are interested in truth, only in pushing your own agenda of a glorious millennial kingdom on earth. Good luck cleaning up all the mess.

I guess that doesn't make me an amilleniast, premilleniast, or part millennial either. So I suppose of you want to label me at all, you going to have to make one up.

Jesus and His people will live on and reign on the earth, as Jesus said, the meek shall inherit the earth. But not yet. And not at the second coming.

And there it is, a pre-trib rapture idea above.

Lord Jesus with all His saints returns, TO THIS EARTH, LITERALLY, at the 2nd coming. To claim He raptures the Church, which is tied to the PAROUSIA (Greek for the 2nd "coming", like in 1 Thess.3:13), and goes with them back to Heaven, IS NOT WRITTEN, but is man's theory that creates an extra parousia ("coming").

There is only ONE PAROUSIA ("coming") written about Christ's future return per Bible Scripture...

1 Thess 3:13
13 To the end He may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming
(Greek parousia) of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
KJV

The below Testimony by Lord Jesus is about the day of His ONLY coming at the end of this world; on THAT Day, is when the Revelation beast king and kingdom is destroyed, and all the kingdoms of this world become those of The Father and The Son (Rev.11).

Matt 24:37-39
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming
(Greek parousia) of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
KJV

2 Thess 2:8-10
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
(Greek parousia)
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
KJV

THE PROBLEM MANY BRETHREN HAVE WITH NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW CHRIST'S DESTRUCTION OF THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD HAPPENS AT THE SAME TIME... OF HIS COMING:

Most brethren are fed just New Testament Scripture like Apostle Paul's 1 Thessalonians 4 involving just ONE description of Christ's future coming and gathering of His Church. It does NOT reveal detail written in other Bible Scripture, like the Zechariah 14 detail of WHERE and HOW Jesus returns to this earth with His saints.

I was asked by a friend to come to his house, and do a Bible study with his wife on the events of Christ's future coming and gathering of the Church. His whole family showed up. Part of his family were followers of a Preterist denomination which doesn't teach hardly any future Bible prophecy. And another part of his family were going to a Pre-trib Rapture theory type Church. They had been in a debate with each other, and I assume they wanted me to settle the matter. Well, The Holy Spirit led me to teach to them the Zechariah 14 Chapter about Christ's future coming, something they had never read before. Did they understand it? No, not really, as I could tell when I asked them questions about it. They obviously had been fed men's theories loosely based on only the 1 Thess.4 coming example by Apostle Paul.

The idea of being 'changed' per Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 on the day of Christ's future coming is that same idea of being raptured per 1 Thessalonians 4:17. That is about the saints still alive on earth on that day of Jesus' future coming being changed and then "caught up" to Jesus. The rest of the saints, those that had already died, Paul said that Jesus will bring with Him when He comes (1 Thess.4:13-16). The idea of being "caught up" in the "air", is about that being 'changed' idea that Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15...

1 Cor 15:51-52
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
KJV

The 1 Thessalonians 4:16 verse also reveals that is when the dead will be resurrected...

1 Thess 4:16
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
KJV

This means when that 'change' on the "last trump" happens with Jesus descending to earth to gather His saints that are still alive, we are changed instantly to our "spiritual body", for that is the type of body Paul taught that the resurrection is per 1 Corinthians 15. Thus the idea of being "caught up" to the "air", is actually pointing to being suddenly manifest in the heavenly dimension with Jesus and the raised saints He brings with Him.

The one detail that Apostle Paul did not cover in 1 Thess.4, nor 1 Cor.15, is just WHERE Jesus is prophesied to DESCEND with His saints to. And why should Paul cover that, again, when it was well written of in the Zechariah 14 Chapter??

But I guess our Heavenly Father wants to 'test' those who refuse to become a 'workman' in ALL of His Word, and thus are easily deceived because of heeding men's doctrines.

A SUMMARY THEN:
We, Christ's Church, have NO NEED to be removed from this earth on the day of His future PAROUSIA ("coming", the ONLY coming event by Christ written of).

Like Apostle Peter showed in 2 Peter 3:10, God's consuming fire is going to burn man's works off the surface of this earth on that "day of the Lord", and is the 'day' of Jesus' future coming. Many events involving the 'end' will happen SUDDENLY, at an instant, on that "day of the Lord" with Jesus' 2nd coming. He does not have to take us to Heaven in order to protect us! That is an idea created by men's doctrines that we have to be removed from the earth for Him to be able to protect us. It's actually an idea produced by relying on one's flesh, when the change Paul taught has nothing to do with the flesh, but is about being changed to the "spiritual body".

KJV

Actaully Christ DID come to Earth literally and He did plant His feet very literally upon the mount of olives - on his FIRST coming. Not future coming.

However, Zechariah is more concerned with His coming to Earth Spiritually, and planting His feet on Mount Zion in judgment. And the mountain did remove, and the remnant of the people did flee, and the valley was their path to freedom. It was the escape of the remnant of God's people from His executed judgments upon the enemies in Jerusalem. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion. The zeal of the LORD of hosts has done this.

Matthew 26:30-32
  • "And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
  • Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
  • But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee."
A literal precursor of the Spiritual judgment of Christ that the remnant may escape, and indeed consequently the judgment of the people there as God leaves them desolate and takes the Kingdom from Old Testament Israel. This is what the cleaving of the mountain (Kingdom) to east and west signifies so that God's people may escape His judgment of the Old Testament congregaiton and begin a great commission in the New Testament. Zechariah 14 is not talking about the Second Coming. Sorry!

What was the abomination of desolation in Daniel 11:31, that Antiochus IV 's troops placed on his behalf ?

Daniel 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

answer: they placed a statue image of Zeus in the temple.

LOL!! Of course not. Daniel 11:31 has nothing to do with Antiochus or third temple in the future. Nope!

After the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from the bottomless pit prison. He will then go out to deceive the nations again.

Among those nations will be the same nations that made up the Gog/Magog attack on Israel a thousand years earlier in Ezekiel 38-39.

Oh please. Gosh. Okay, let's use your false doctrine for example:

You believe that the Russian Federation may lead the Arab coalition to attack the nation of Israel. They are defeated and all of their military equipment will be burnt. Then the so-called seven years later, Christ returns. Will Russia, Iran, Turkey, as "nations" exist during the millennial kingdom? And then after 1,000 years, Satan will bring these "same nations" back upon Israel?

What a hoot!

You got Ezekiel 38/39 all messed up. You even had the nations of Revelation 20 misunderstood.

Where in Revelation is the papal little horn of your view destroyed ? And what does the papal little horn of your view do in Revelation ?

You do know that Ribera's form of futurism is that Ribera was an amillennialist ? I am a pre-millennialist.

Daniel's prophecies do not depend upon Revelation for validation. They of themselves describe the fulfilled apostasies and ultimate destiny of the papal little horn.

Daniel 7
11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

Yes, Ribera was amil. But amil was recognized in the early church long before the beginnings of institutional Roman Catholicism (Constantine c. AD 272 -337). As premil Justin Martyr (c. AD 100 - 165) said:

"I and many others are of this opinion [premillennialism], and [believe] that such will take place, as you assuredly are aware; but, on the other hand, I signified to you that many who belong to the pure and pious faith, and are true Christians, think otherwise."

Ribera was not the father of amil. But he was the father of the fabricated "singular end times person" futurism to which you and dispen premils subscribe.

It isn't about protecting. He's already done that throughout the plagues. The millennium in heaven has a distinct and special purpose, outlined in several passages of scripture. The earth itself is left desolate throughout that time, with only Satan and His angels occupying it. There are descriptions of that also in scripture.

The doctrine you got from men's tradition definitely IS... about the idea of protection of the flesh. It totally disregards what Apostle Paul taught about being changed at that event of Christ's coming.

Hebrews 12:29 tells us GOD is a 'consuming fire'. For those in Christ, His consuming fire will do no harm. Even in the Daniel 3 chapter with the hot fiery furnace example, we were shown that God's Fire won't harm His, as Nebuchadnezzar saw a Fourth Man (Christ) in that furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo, and when they came out of that furnace, their clothes didn't even smell of smoke. But when Neb's servants got just near that furnace, they were immediately incinerated.

Furthermore, we well know... that the Zechariah 14 chapter is about the events of Christ's future return and gathering of His Church, because Acts 1 revealed that is where He will return to, in like manner how He ascended from the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem.
