Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. - John 3:3.

We cannot parallel our life and gospel with Old Testament saint's. Because they did not have Christ in them. When I look for life - I will not find it written in the Old. There was no life in the Old. They lived by soul knowledge, they were saved in soul by doing what God told them to do. Their relationship with God was based on a working relationship. They had to do what God said to do - that was the olny way they could have a relationship with God. Soulish relationship with God based on works. Men doing something in themselves to be what God said they would be.

Having 10 commandments to make it work. Most could not make that work in themselves, but it was what was in place in the Old Testament for them to do in order to be what God said they would be.

What makes believers different in the world today? Christ in you. That is why he gave us a gospel to go along with the new birth. So men could know and be what God would say you are - and that by a birth. Born again not of the corruptible - but of the incorruptible. Christ in you the hope of glory!

@soul man Peter in the first Epistle and the first chapter shows the new birth means being 'beggotten...by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever'. (This is a ref. also to Isaiah 40....)

Nicodemus was directly engaging Jesus and Jesus spoke to that engagement......listen to what Jesus said.

The subject matter does not come about by anything cognitive by humans......just as the wind.
Theology won't do it...... Intellect won't do it.....Being a hot cookie on the street won't do it
Soooooo, what will do it?.......and what good is telling anybody who isn't asking? .......and even those who ask; can they bring this thing about?
