Joel 3

King James Version

3 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord hath spoken it.
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.”

That prophecy was fulfilled in 70 ad.

No, the Lord allowed the entire nation to be destroyed in 70 AD.

In the last days He will arrive on planet earth before it appears Israel is about to be destroyed... and He will destroy the enemies of Israel preventing them from being destroyed..

And if God can make them blind to fulfill His will and purpose

God did not make them blind willy nilly... they rejected Jesus as their Savior and caused themselves to be blind which the Lord allowed because anyone that rejects Jesus reaps blindness.

Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Rejecting Jesus is sin and that brings forth deception.

And if God can make them blind to fulfill His will and purpose, then God can also give them back their site after the fulness of the Gentiles comes in to fulfill His will. God will have mercy on whomsoever He will, and He will be gracious to whomsoever He chooses.
He could if He wanted, but scripture doesn't teach that. Again, Romans 11:26 does not start with "And then" or "And after that". Once the fullness of the Gentiles comes in then it will be true that all spiritual Israel will be saved. All who will ever be saved will have been saved once He returns. But, He is being patient and giving people time to repent in the meantime (2 Peter 3:8-9).

17 So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.”
Are you aware that there is more than one Jerusalem and more than one Mount Zion?

Hebrews 12:18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,....22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

You are not differentiating between when scripture is talking about earthly Jerusalem or heavenly Jerusalem. God took His wrath out on earthly Jerusalem in 70 AD. His focus now is on "the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem" of which we are all citizens spiritually.

Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

You need to allow the NT to shed light on the OT prophecies for you.

Verse 2 does not agree with Zech 12 concerning Jerusalem and it’s people, SO they cannot be speaking of the same event.

Zech 12:8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
The day of the Lord in zech 14 is future.
It speaks of the same events Jesus spoke of in the gospel when the occupants of judea flee .The only people that are saved are Jesus disciples who are redeemed at that time.Jesus does not save the antichrist Jews who deny him.

Luke 21
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Actually it was 2 parts that would be cut off and die. A third part of them would be tried by fire….

Zechariah 13:7-9

King James Version

7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lordof hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

The day of the Lord can mean the time of His “visitation.” Jesus announced this visitation and coming destruction upon Jerusalem.

Luke 19:41-44

King James Version

41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Mathew 24

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Not 40 years before they happen.

John 9:39
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
Please do not just quote scripture to me with no commentary. I don't know what you are intending to say by quoting this verse and I'd rather not have to guess.

You had said:
Stewardofthemystery said:
And if God can make them blind to fulfill His will and purpose, then God can also give them back their site after the fulness of the Gentiles comes in to fulfill His will. God will have mercy on whomsoever He will, and He will be gracious to whomsoever He chooses.
And I replied by saying "He could if He wanted, but scripture doesn't teach that.". I was not saying God never makes anyone blind for His purposes, I was saying that's not what He will do after the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

Blindness is UNTIL….

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, UNTIL the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so ALL Israel shall be saved
Blindness IN PART is UNTIL....

And it never says the blindness would be completely removed. You conveniently left the "IN PART" part out. What you're not getting is that God intended for Israel to be blinded in part (remnant saved, the rest blinded) until the end of time because the ones blinded do have the opportunity to be saved. But, the way God wants them to be saved is to be provoked to jealousy by the Gentiles just like what we see described in Romans 11:11-14. And you're not getting that verse 26 is referring to spiritual Israel and not the nation of Israel.

False.
The elect are gathered from one end of heaven to the other.
None of this was fulfilled in 70.ad.The last trump was not blown in 70 ad.

All things which are written were not fulfilled in 70 ad and the time of Gods vengeance was not in 70 ad.Gods wrath takes place at the time of the end after everyone in Israel has received the mark of the beast. The heavens didn't shake in 70 ad,the stars of heaven did not fall and Christ did not come in the clouds and gather his elect at the sound of the last trump.None of these things were fulfilled in 70 ad

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
According to Peter the first century was those days

Acts2
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’[c]

Jesus also shows us that He comes in judgement at different times

Revelation
16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Once you see that the bible isn't always literal you will understand prophecy better.

False.
The elect are gathered from one end of heaven to the other.
None of this was fulfilled in 70.ad.The last trump was not blown in 70 ad.

I never said and I don't believe that the last trumpet was sounded in 70AD
