A friend made an interesting statement the other night. He said that we are better off since Christ's death on the cross and his resurrection than Adam was prior to the fall.
Any thoughts

I agree completely. Adam and Eve were created perfect by God, but were not born of God. They were sinless but not righteouss. They were earth bound but we now are heavenly located seated with Christ. With them in their perfect state it would always just be a matter of time before they would fall. For us in our redeemed state, having Christ's righteousness imputed to us, there will never be any chance of us being separated from God.Angelina said:A friend made an interesting statement the other night. Perhaps one could look at this way: Was Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden, exactly what God was wanting them to be? Or, was it just the begining of His work of which the fall and redeemption were part of, to get them to a different place?Pelaides said:This is an interesting question,I think Adam had everything you could possibly ask for in the garden of eden, and all he had to do was take care of it when God was away.He was immortal,He had all the food he could eat,and a loving wife.
Now we have death ,suffering, and disease, and there is a good chance alot of us wont make it to heaven.
Now with the blood of Christ we get a chance at redemption.
God created Adam to take care of the animals, and plants in the garden of eden,he had no other function.Quantrill said:Perhaps one could look at this way: Was Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden, exactly what God was wanting them to be? Sounds rather dull.Pelaides said:God created Adam to take care of the animals, and plants in the garden of eden,he had no other function.
If you view living in a tropical paradise dull then thats your opinion.I myself envy the life that was given to Adam.Quantrill said:Sounds rather dull.
I guess Eve was never part of God's plan for Adam. God just learned about it and then made Eve for him?
The point I was making is do you think that Adam and Eve in the Garden was God's goal. Or was it the begining of what He wanted to create and obtain?

Again, did God learn about Adams incompeteness without Eve? If He had to learn it, is He God?Pelaides said:If you view living in a tropical paradise dull then thats your opinion.I myself envy the life that was given to Adam.
God saw that Adam was alone and created Eve.
Gods original goal for man,was to be caretakers of the Garden of eden.nothing more.
I being a mortal man,am not in a position to question and or critisize God.I suggest you do the same.Quantrill said:Again, did God learn about Adams incompeteness without Eve? If He had to learn it, is He God?
Nothing more? Then Satan got one in on God. Snuck up on Him when He wasn't watching. I guess. Again, not much of a God.
I wonder why Jesus Christ was slain from the foundation of the earth if the Garden was all God wanted Adam and Eve to be?
Rev. 13:8 "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
Seems God had greater plans. Seem God really is God.

I wasn't questioning God. I was questioning you.Pelaides said:I being a mortal man,am not in a position to question and or critisize God.I suggest you do the same.
Its too bad God didn't give Eve a job.. She evidently had too much free time and wandered over to talk to the serpent. Eve trusted Satan more than God and Adam trusted his wife more than God.Pelaides said:God created Adam to take care of the animals, and plants in the garden of eden,he had no other function.
Dont be so hard on the gals arnie their not all bad.Arnie Manitoba said:.
It's all Eve's fault .... when there is a women around trouble always starts.
Go to a bush Camp , mining site , or remote location with 1000 men and 99% of the time they all get along just fine for years on end.
Put one woman there , even just a cook , and there will be trouble among the men day after day.
That is one of the (unspoken) reasons women should not be in the military , or allowed in men-only clubs and societies.
Harmony turns into disharmony.
Guaranteed to happen

I don't think that we are better off physically than they were in paradise, but those who learn from their mistake and know to trust God are better off. We also know that despite our disobedience, salvation is not lost via the redemptive power of Christ. I think everyone is better off post-Christ. We have the peace and rest of knowing that the Tree of Life was not lost forever.
Actually I mostly blame the men :)Pelaides said:Dont be so hard on the gals arnie their not all bad.
It sounds almost as if you are blaming God for adams disobediance,Adam was a man,he did not need a babysitter.lforrest said:I believe we are better off. God came and went in the garden, to such a degree that his creation became lonely. He was forced to draw us near in order to save us, and we may near him forever. Revelation 7:15-17
God couldn't have done any less to prevent Adam's fall, but I don't blame God for it. He trusted man more than he should have, because it is in his loving nature to do so. Regardless of the cause of the fall the end result is a select few being nearer to God than Adam ever was.Pelaides said:It sounds almost as if you are blaming God for adams disobediance,Adam was a man,he did not need a babysitter.![]()
