This doesn’t mean that the line was “broken”. It had a gap because the Pope was murdered by the Romans. There was still a succession of Episcopal hierarchy in place. Nobody is trying to "lord over you" - but a fact is a fact:

As for the unbroken line of succession - WHO is talking exclusively about the papacy anyway??
The Catholic Church has an unbroken line of succession that goes all the way back to the Apostles. YOUR sect doesn't.

The Apostles were the first Bishops (Epoiskopos). They ordained more priests and bishops and those bishops ordained more priests and bishops and so on.
There is simply no getting around that fact. And just because some of the Popes were martyred and there wasn't somebody who immediately took their place doesn't affect the line of Successive Authority the Church has had since the beginning.

Well it certainly is a black eye to the Catholic faith that there are a number of pedophiles and riff raff in the priesthood.

Reformers in England and Ireland formed their own ruthless inquisitions against Catholics and against other sects of Protestantism.

Luther and Calvin preached the right of the state to protect Protestant society by purging it of false religion with many being banished and executed for “heresy.”

Conservative estimates put Catholic executions in England and Ireland in the multiple thousands with many more fleeing to avoid execution. What was the crime they were accused of??? Refusing to convert to Protestantism.

You charge ME with wanting division - yet YOU fail to realize that it was Protestantism - not Catholicism that began the splintering that plagues the Body of Christ to this very day.
Study your history.

The Catholic Church was the ONLY Christian Church for 1000 years until the East-West split.

And this is utter nonsense coming from a Protestant.
The main pillars of Protestantism are man made doctrines and precepts.

- Sola Scripture - Nowhere is this supported in Scripture.
- Sola Fide - Nowhere is this supported in Scripture.
- "Generals" in the Church - Nowhere is this supported in Scripture.

Here are some more man made precepts that many Protestants follow:
- "Invisible" Church
- Accepting Christ as "personal Lord and Savior"
- Limited Atonement
- Imputed righteousness
- Altar Call
- Infant Dedications
- Once saved, always saved

Don't talk to me about "man made" anything until you clean your own house.
Unlike YOUR sect - the Church has God-given Authority - that WHATEVER is ordains on earth will also be ordained in Heaven (Matt. 16:18-19, Matt, 18:18, Luke 10:16, John 16:12-15, John 20:21-22).
