MESSAGE TO SARDIS
[Rev 3:1 KJV] 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
[Rev 3:3 KJV] 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Jesus will come on this church as a thief.
[2Pe 3:10 KJV] 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
The Lord coming as a thief is associated with the day of the Lord. The church, the body of Christ,
will not face the wrath of the day of the Lord (Isaiah 13:9 13:13 Ezekiel 7:19 1 Thessalonians 5:2-9). This warning could only be directed to Israel.
[Rev 3:5 KJV] 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
He that overcometh in the verse above is believing Israel who had to believe Jesus is the Son of God for life (John 20:31).
[1Jo 5:5 KJV] 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Jesus will not blot out of the book of life he who overcometh, which is believing Israel.
Believing Israel who overcometh will be confessed before the Father (Matthew 10:32 Luke 12:8 John 12:42).
This church, more than likely, is believing Israel.
