JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, one of the 55 Florida sheriffs who on Monday announced their endorsement for Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) reelection campaign, blasted the left’s efforts to ‘Defund the Police’ as well as their failure to defend law enforcement, noting that tens of thousands of people are flocking to the Sunshine State because it is safe.
Judd praised Rubio’s support for law enforcement and told the press that the senator, who Grady knew beforehand, has not changed since taking office.
Judd, a past president of Major County Sheriffs of America, noted that he has worked “tirelessly” to stop legislation passed by U.S. House, which would have made it easier to prosecute cops, putting “billions upon billions of taxpayer costs” on communities for lawsuits filed against officers.
“But what I saw was the U.S. House of Representatives and Val Deming’s voting to Defund the Police,” he said, mentioning Rubio’s potential Democrat challenger. “To cost the taxpayers more money. To make it easier to prosecute the police who are putting their life on the line in Orlando, Florida, and across this United States of America.”
Judd said he called Rubio at the time, and the senator assured him he stood with law enforcement and vowed to fight against the legislation.
“Now I ask you. I want you to look around the nation. Portland, Oregon. Seattle, Washington. Baltimore. Chicago. Washington DC. Wisconsin. You didn’t see peaceful protests when they were burning buildings and smashing cars and injuring people,” Judd said.
“What you saw was lawlessness. Now, quite frankly, the reason those things occur in those communities is because of the rule-makers. They allow that. It’s because of the community. They allow that. Senator Rubio in this state has said no,” he continued.

Over the past two years alone, Judd continued, 48,000 people have moved into his county.

So when you go to bed at night, you don’t know if your car’s going to be there the next day or if your windows are going to be smashed or if they’re going to set the house on fire?” he asked.
“There’s real fear in those places. In the state of Florida, when you go to bed at night, you think about, do I go to Disney or the beaches? We got a U.S. senator who is simply the very best for Florida,” he continued. “It’s Marco Rubio.”

Having been in the trucking industry for over 10 years, I find this ironic.
Truckers have very little contact with others. You are in your truck 24/7 unless you go to a restroom or buy some food at a market which allows trucks to park in their lots.
They want to take out our food transportation.

The former Finnish Interior Minister is on trial for hate speech over a bible verse that described homosexuality as “shameful” and “unnatural.”
Prosecutors claim that Päivi Räsänen’s remarks are illegal because they represent an “affront to the equality and dignity of homosexuals.”
Räsänen, an MP for Finland’s Christian Democrats party, posted comments criticizing the Finnish Lutheran Church for associating itself with LGBT activist causes.
Accusing the church of “elevating shame and sin to a point of pride,” Räsänen included an image of a bible verse which denounced gay lifestyles as “shameful” and “unnatural.”
“The case is being seen as a test of whether personal religious beliefs can justify controversial language,” reports the BBC, with a Helsinki court considering whether to classify bible passages as hate speech.
The MP was reportedly subjected to hours of police interrogation over her personal beliefs.

Räsänen arrived at court holding a bible before telling reporters she was “honoured to be defending freedom of speech and religion.”

In a related development, a video posted by Christian pastor John MacArthur which presented the biblical view of gender and sexuality was flagged as “hate speech” and removed by YouTube.
As we highlighted last year, a Christian pastor in the UK was arrested by police on the streets of London after a member of the public reported him for the “homophobic” comment of saying that marriage was between a man and a woman.
While the LGBT movement still claims to represent people who are being ‘oppressed’, it enjoys the support of every major cultural institution, media outlet and woke corporate entity in the west.
It can also rely on the power of the state in numerous European countries to literally imprison people who merely question the morality of what the LGBT movement represents.
