Even here just lately we too have had stealing’s going on, I wish I had the Faith that Rockerduck has...I was scared last night in my bed, I thought someone was trying to get in through my patio door..

Plus around here, you dare not look at some of the youngsters,,if you do, some end up saying what the F@#k are you looking at.,.times are changing here and it’s scary.

That's scary about your patio door. If you yell and they don't leave, call the police. Maybe you can disguise your voice like it's a man?

I live in a business district and I must say the young people are nice. Skateboarders move off to the side of the sidewalk for me. One time a young guy insisted on carrying my rather heavy groceries for two blocks to my apartment building!!!

There's a very nice teen guy in my building. He used to drive me to the market regularly. He wouldn't take any gas money!

Now I get groceries delivered.

We too have a lot of shop thieves here as well.

We’ve got to watch where we keep our purses ,pick pockets round here.
Californians just passed a law to make all of these stealing crimes felonies for repeat offenders.

In Los Angeles county, we also voted in a more strict D.A...Nathan Hochman. The former D.A. was a progressive and got light on crimes. So then the thieving and home burglaries skyrocketed the last four years.

The message here... Parents! Please take responsibility for that which you bring into the world! Wisdom from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...

Who do you blame when a kid is a brat?
Pampered and spoiled like a Siamese cat
Blaming the kids is a lie and a shame
You know exactly who's to blame...

I guess because they have access to guns, if we had the same access here, there would probably be more shootings..I thank God we aren’t allowed to openly keep guns here, mind you, that wouldn’t stop some from illegally obtaining one...I think you must have a license here to keep a gun, plus they must be under lock and key..

Guns have always been a part of America's founding, but school/mass shootings are relatively recent. They more or less started with the Columbine massacre in '99. Before then, school shootings were very rare. The only one that comes to mind is the University of Texas tower shooting in '66. There was a time when schools even had shooting ranges. So, the question then is why were there fewer shootings when guns were even more accessible?

Well, in the early 60s is when the Bible and prayer were taken out of public schools. It was a part of the whole counter-counter revolution here in the U.S. that moved us away from our Christian roots. It's no wonder then that a generation or so later it came back to roost, and why there's been so many school/mass shootings since then.

One of our founders, John Adams, said, "The Constitution was designed for a moral and religious people and is not adequate to govern any other type of society." Our Constitution affords us with freedoms, like owning guns, that require a degree of self-governing. John Adams understood that it took moral restraint not to abuse those freedoms. That moral restraint was traditionally imparted from schools, family, and religion, all things that have been heavily eroded since the 60s. Gun violence then is really just a symptom of our moral decay and not the root cause.

I remember well when prayer and Bible reading was taken out of schools. I was about 13. We used to start the day with the Lord's Prayer and one Bible verse.

When I got into high school, the worst thing was a few kids smoking a cigarette behind the school between classes.

Madeleine O Hare, atheist, who was responsible for prayer and Bible reading being taken out of schools...in her older years, she was murdered. And her son became a Christian...he was the one she used to complain about prayer and Bible in schools.
