If people lived for several centuries during Noah's day, how come he didn't have any grandkids? Only 8 were saved from the flood. So how long were Noah's kids married and why didn't they make children in what I would assume to be a rather long period of time before entering the ark?

I actually misread your question, and had to delete my answer. Great question, but of course you may be aware that your question is unanswerable. The only history of that time period dealing with Noah and his offspring is found in the Bible, and it does not answer that question. Most likely they did not have children, as you correctly pointed out only 8 were preserved through the flood, so if they did have offspring, then they were judged as being wicked.

I see. Thanks for your reply. I find the notion of Noah's granchildren being wicked is a stretch. I assume they would have been saved having grown up under a righteous family.

Do we actually know he didn't have grandchildren? They could have been born after the flood. Perhaps the bible doesn't mention them because it is unimportant.

They didn't have time nor energy for kids. It took 100 years to build the Ark and I'm sure they were at it 24/7, the women too, probably hunting and cooking... and then gathering animals, food for them.
God creates life, He did not in them until after the Flood.

God could have held off blessing him with grandchildren because of the impending flood.

Genesis 5:32 says Noah was 500 years old when he begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Does that seem like he waiting a long time to marry and have children? I think it does. Why?

I believe it was because of the "sons of God" (fallen angels) taking wives of the flesh daughters of women and that offspring mixing with people on the earth. Genesis 6:9 tells us Noah was "perfect in his generations". The KJV word "perfect" there is the same word used for sacrificial purity requirements per the old covenant. It is pointing to how Noah had kept his bloodline pure from Adam.

Gen 6:9
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

KJV

Noah's grandchildren were after... the flood, listed beginning in Genesis 10.

I agree, so logically they had no offspring. Might be similar to the reason that I chose not to bring children into this world, keep in mind why the flood was brought about by God. They lived in a very wicked society riddled by violence, so much so that Jehovah was grieved in His heart that He had created man. What a glorious day it will be when Jehovah brings an end to this wicked world as well.

Perhaps this may help. Below are the first seven descendant generation of Noah; -

Other than the first descendant generation, who are children of Noah, the other six generations in the chart can be considered to be grand children of Noah.

Oh please, stop with the fallen angels having sex with people already. If they can have relations with people, why can't they with one another????? If they can have children with humans, why aren't they breeding like rabbits today with their own kind and swarming the planet with their stench and evil?
The entire concept of spirits impregnating physical beings with spiritual semen and begetting physical giants is a ludicrous idea that needs to be trashed.

Just going by the Genesis 6 Scripture AS WRITTEN. If you don't like it, then take your complaint up with our Heavenly Father and His Son.
