1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Peter is an apostle to Israel, commanded by God to preach to the people (Acts 10:42). Peter is preaching the cross; by the cross the promise of the new covenant would be fulfilled.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus is the one who bore the iniquity of Israel, who was wounded for their transgressions. Note that Peter in 1 Peter 2:24 above quotes Isiah and applies "by whose stripes ye were healed" to the recipient of his letter; the recipient of this letter can therefore be identified as the believing remnant of Israel.

Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Jesus would bear the iniquities of Israel and would justify the "many", the believing remnant of Israel.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep (Psalm 79:13 95:7 100:3).

Jesus is the good Shepherd who went to the cross and died to bear the sin of Israel the sheep.

1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

The believing remnant of Israel believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and returned unto their Shepherd.

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Jesus shows great love and tenderness toward the sheep. Those of us who trust him can know that he has the same love for us.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Israel could not keep the first covenant. Israel as sheep, went astray, and were lost. The iniquity of all Israel was laid upon Jesus on the cross.

Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Peter and the other Apostles spoke of the resurrection of Jesus. Israel was to repent and receive the forgiveness provided by Christ.

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Peter preached to Israel, that it was prophesied by David, that Jesus would be resurrected to sit on his throne. The resurrection of Christ Jesus gave assurance to Israel that he was alive and would return to establish his kingdom on earth as promised.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Jesus, the chief Shepherd of Israel the sheep, was coming again.

Hebews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus came the first time to bear the sins of Israel. The believing remnant of Israel would be looking for his second coming for salvation.

Jeremiah 30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

Ezekiel 37:24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

Jesus Christ will return to establish his kingdom on earth (Daniel 2:44). David will be raised to be king to Israel in the kingdom. Saved Israel will walk in all the judgments of God, by the Spirit of God.

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

God will make a new covenant with Israel and Judah only.

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

The new testament could not be in force until the death of the one who made the testament, the testator (Hebrews 9:16). Jesus died on the cross to establish the new testament.

Israel could now be given the promised new covenant. This covenant will forgive the iniquity of Israel; God, by the new testament, will forgive Israel for the sins committed under the old covenant (Hebrews 9:15). God will put his Spirit in them and cause Israel to keep all his commandments.

Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The old covenant was done away with because Israel could not keep it (Hebrews 8:7-13); the new covenant will be an everlasting covenant. Israel will, according to 1 Peter 2:24, be able to do what they could not do by themselves; by the Holy Spirit of God in them, saved Israel will live unto righteousness.

[2Co 5:15 KJV] 15 And [that] he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

[1Ti 2:6 KJV] 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Peter was preaching the cross for Israel; Paul was preaching the cross for all.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Deuteronomy 21:22-23

22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:

23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Isaiah 53:5-6

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Peter is an apostle to Israel, commanded by God to preach to the people (Acts 10:42). Peter is preaching the cross; by the cross the promise of the new covenant would be fulfilled.

peter was appointed by GOD to preach to the gentiles acts 15:7;
New King James Version
And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.
Act 10:42 And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One appointed by God to judge the living and the dead
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus is the one who bore the iniquity of Israel, who was wounded for their transgressions. nothing here to identify to the remnant of Israel only, salvation was offered to all who believe and belong to Christ!

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
Study Bible
But He was pierced for our transgressions
This phrase highlights the concept of substitutionary atonement, where the suffering servant takes on the punishment meant for others. The term "pierced" prophetically points to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, as seen in the New Testament (John 19:34, Zechariah 12:10). The word "transgressions" refers to deliberate sins or violations of God's law, emphasizing humanity's need for redemption. This act of being pierced is a fulfillment of prophecy, showing the Messiah's role in bearing the sins of the world.
He was crushed for our iniquities
"Crushed" signifies intense suffering and affliction, indicating the severity of the servant's sacrifice. "Iniquities" refers to moral corruption and wickedness, underscoring the depth of human sinfulness. This phrase connects to the sacrificial system in the Old Testament, where animals were offered to atone for the people's sins (Leviticus 16). The crushing of the servant symbolizes the complete and sufficient sacrifice of Jesus, who bore the weight of humanity's sins.
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
This part of the verse speaks to the concept of peace, or "shalom," which encompasses wholeness, well-being, and reconciliation with God. The "punishment" indicates the justice required for sin, which the servant endures on behalf of others. This substitutionary act results in peace between God and humanity, fulfilling the promise of reconciliation found in passages like Romans 5:1. The servant's suffering is the means by which believers are restored to a right relationship with God.
And by His stripes we are healed
"Stripes" refers to the wounds inflicted by scourging, a form of punishment that Jesus endured before His crucifixion (Matthew 27:26). The healing mentioned is both spiritual and physical, pointing to the comprehensive salvation offered through Christ's sacrifice. This healing is echoed in 1 Peter 2:24, where the apostle Peter applies this prophecy to the redemptive work of Jesus. The phrase emphasizes the transformative power of the servant's suffering, bringing restoration and wholeness to those who believe.

Doug Bible HUB on the web has an excellent STUDY tool above is from that tool, please use it! it is excellent an helps understand.
1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

this is a weird translation all other versions do not use the word bishop but Overseer or guardian.
God will make a new covenant with Israel and Judah only.

what about those who believe in Jesus and are not from israel or Judah? no covenant for them?
Peter was preaching the cross for Israel; Paul was preaching the cross for all.

False, Peter was appointed BY GOD to preach to the gentiles!

Act 15:7 After much discussion, Peter got up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you that the Gentiles would hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.

Other things I should correct on this post also but it would take me all day to explain.

Dont you see that if""Jesus died for Israel's transgressions under the first covenant"" as you wrote, means that only Israel will be saved?

the curse of the Law is disobedience to the law, the law by itself is not a curse, do you believe this?

Do
Peter was not preaching the cross at all in Acts 10 or Acts 15

yes he did preach the cross, here is the proof;

Act 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.

Act 10:39 We are witnesses of all that He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. And although they put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree,

Act 10:40 God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen—

Act 10:41 not by all the people, but by the witnesses God had chosen beforehand, by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.

Act 10:42 And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One appointed by God to judge the living and the dead.

Act 10:43 All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

Doug I had written something on another forum, it is about what Jesus was teaching repentance from sin, please have a look'

Thats right.....except all the nations (Gentiles) would be blessed by Israel and learn of God in the kingdom
Not only that but Paul reveals salvation and the cross for Jew and Gentile

Paul did nor reveal anything that Jesus and the 11 did nor reveal before. you do not understand the covenants old and new.

Again scripture that I gave you today says the chosen disciples of Jesus were asked to preach all Jesus did and was teaching, repentance, the commandments and the Kingdom of heaven throughout the world.

The law is righteous and should have made us so but none are righteous and cant keep the law

[Gal 3:10 KJV] 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

The law had blessings and cursings
