It was not an offer it was a promise

Then he lied, because it is no better than manna, where people eat of it and still die.

Yes, in the ceremony of the lords supper

That is not what jesus was promising in John 6, He was promising EVERYONE who ATE would NEVER DIE

He never said do it in remembrance of him.. That was not the purpose of his words. His purpose was tp get the people who anted a free handout to seek for the real food which endures frever.
Thank you for your time. Keep following the teaching of whatever man taught you it.

Man?

No man taught it to me,

God taught it to me, Because I did what paul demanded,

Study to show myself approved

I did not just blindly follow some man or history.

I studied John 6.

I suggest you do the same.

and while your at it earn some humility

Those words are not found in john 6. so your wrong

If you need this to prove you are right, you no better than the jews who used that same argument to prove Christ wrong

If you studied maybe you would see this.
If you studied, instead of listening to men, you wouldn't be saying what you are saying.....thank you for your time.

lol

I did study

Men told you john 6 and the lords supper are the same, where do you think the teaching came from?
I believe you when you say you did study but you skipped over the part that said his letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Nope. God spoke in his word

35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. 47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

This is the word of God.

the eucharist does not promise any of these things, If it did, Like jesus said, whoever ate this bread would NEVER DIE.

By your own words. You believe after you eat this bread you can still die.

so do not come talk to me and say I listen to men..

Yes, you must eat it week after week because he said "do this in remembrance of me"

You must realize that "do this in rememberance of Me" is not specifying a weekly ritual, right? Basic language skills?

Let us settle this once and for all.

Do you believe after you go up on mass, and eat the flesh of Jesus that you can still die?

Yes or no.

I will pretend Jesus didn't SAY we must eat/drink His body/blood and then SHOW us how to do it.
I will pretend that Paul didn't say that the cup/bread IS a participation in the body/blood of Christ.
I will pretend that a student of the Apostle John didn't teach that communion is His body and blood....(I will believe your teachers instead)
I will pretend that the men who wrote the Didache didn't really believe communion wasn't "holy" like they said it was.....(I will believe your teachers instead)
I will believe the men who taught you that we can only rely on the current Reformation and later teachings and we can not rely on the 2,000 year old historical writings of Christians.

BTW....who are your teachers?

yeah this is real nice christlike conversation

Your getting prideful now.. It will hurt your case.
LOL....not getting prideful kiddo. You said you didn't learn from men. If you are self taught you are still learning from men (yourself). If you are repeating what someone else wrote OR told you then you are learning from men.

If you did not learn what you are teaching from men, then from whom did you learn it?

If Scripture (let alone John 6) is not hard to understand then why have men been debating it for 2,000 years? Your statement makes ZERO sense!!!

OK....lets settle this. I will answer you AGAIN with very clear words:

Yes, PHYSICALLY I will still die.

If you are talking Spiritually (which I believe you are) I will die (go to hell) IF I did not fulfill all the other expectations put forth in Scripture that I am supposed to do to be saved. One can not participate in communion ALONE and expect to be saved. Scripture list MANY things that one must do to be saved. Obeying His commandments is ONE of the things we must do and believing what He said is what we must do.

I believe what he said (this is my body, you must eat my body).....You don't! :(

yawn

You were not there 2000 years ago so you historical persective does not mean anything, You are assuming history as you see it was correctly written by men.

This is the same argument the jews used against Christ.

If that's how you want to go?

Again

after you eat the flesh of Christ at mass. do you think you can die?
