I am only saying baptism is for being saved per Mark 16:16 etc.
I consider that an insurance policy of sorts.
Those that aren’t saved stand before God at the White Throne in Rev 20. It includes aborted children etc.

The thief was dead before the Holy Ghost was poured out at Pentecost.
He died prior to that.
He was not required to receive the Holy Ghost yet, because it was not yet poured out.
He found O.T. Grace.
We find N.T. Grace by obeying Mark 16:16 and Acts 2:38.
Much easier than dying on a cross alongside Jesus, while repenting.

Yes, and Acts 2:38 is simply stating in simplified form the type or shadow of the reality seen in the OT rituals you outlined. The reality is seen in them without being them. Because God is merciful and looks at our hearts rather than any superficial doctrines, some of us with righteously directed hearts may make it to the end of our course with Jesus in spite of our ignorance.
