Your last paragraph cannot be correct in view of the following scripture:

Same with God. Those of us who sin will do so once in a while. We regret it, we ask forgiveness. IF we return to a LIFE OF SIN, that is a totally different matter.

It seems to me that those who do not take scripture as it is written have to come up with ideas to change it to suit their own understanding.

Of course I knew you'd post your idea about how born again persons are not really born again until they come up with YOUR description of born again.

But, as I've said before, Christianity was around a long time before you were.

One becomes born again when He believes in Jesus.
John 3:16

One is born again when he calls on the name of the Lord, after having heard of Him.
Romans 10:13

One is born again when he obeys Jesus.
John 15:14

What is highlighted in blue: You cannot FALL AWAY from something you never achieved. Once again you're messing with versus because you cannot accept the fact that it is possible to fall away from SALVATION. Jesus and Paul and all the writers of the N.T. are interested with your salvation...not with rewards or crowns.
Jesus went to Jerusalem and knew He would have to die --- to save you, not to get you crowns.

Salvation was His goal. If you don't understand this about the N.T., you naturally have to change verses around to suit what you believe. That is called Eisegesis.
Eisegesis is not how to interpret the bible.

My father died of Alzheimer's. He was a born again person, out of the Catholic church and ended up with Protestant doctrinal beliefs. He was 87. If one can no longer think straight, why would a good God punish him for it? It's like the age of reason.
God will not punish someone who does not understand.

The problem I have with Calvinism is that it changes the nature of God.
It changes a good and loving God, 1 John 4:8 GOD IS LOVE, into a God that picks and chooses who will go to heaven and who will go to hell.

Initial Salvation is when you cooperate with God's grace to believe - (Get in the boat).
Ongoing Salvation is "Working with the Captain" (God).
Final Salvation is when you are out of the storm and on dry land (Heaven).

If you're talking about following listing - your failure is an ignorance of not only Scripture - but of its linguistic implications.

Matt. 7:19-23 - A reference to sheep (believers) and wolves (nonbelievers).
WRONG.
Verses 15-10 are talking about false PROPHET. Verses 21-23 are talking about false DISCIPLES.

Matt. 10:22 - A reference to the 12 disciples and before the seal of God and Pentecost.
Matt. 24:13 - A reference to the 70th week and martyrdom.
Matt. 25:31–46 - A reference to the second coming of Christ, the end of the 70th week.
NEWS FLASH: These are all STILL talking about LOSING it all unless you endure to the end.

John 15:1-6 - Figurative/metaphorical/parable language.
Of course it's metaphorical - but it is speaking of the REALITY of being cut off from God where you were once a PART of Him.

Rom. 11:22 - Figurative/metaphorical/parable language (Rom 11:18).
Okay - then YOU explain what being "cut off" means as opposed to being "in His Kindness".

1 John 5:13 - There's that word believe again, also read 1 John 5:9-14. Is God a liar?
"Believe" isn't the operative word in this verse. "Continue" to believe is where you fall off the tracks.
It's about ENDURING in faith.

Rev. 3:5 - KJV has "he that overcometh", and how do you overcome? 1 John 5:4-5
Uh huh - being born of God allows you to "overcome" the world.
That doesn't mean you can't LOSE by rebelling. Read the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

Rev. 22:19 - Read Gen 3:22, Rev 2:7. Contradiction?
Not at all. You cannot be "blotted out" from the Book of Life if your name wasn't in it.
This is speaking to people who can LOSE their salvation.
