Since the poll for Tongue Speakers Roll Call only had one vote as of last count, then I shall make one that I can vote in.

I believe in God's gift of tongues which is ONLY of other men's lips to speak unto the people for why it can never be for private use and that is why His gift of tongues when manifested in the assembly WILL come with interpretation.

Maybe in some missionary outreach that God is still manifesting tongues to preach the gospel unto others, but I am not seeing it today when believers claim that same tongue to be for private use, and I am even more contentious towards that tongue when gained by a supernatural phenomenon of feeling what they assume to be the Holy Spirit coming over them as happening on the believer later in life as a saved believer already.

There is no need for that in USA churches when every one speaks the same language.

Since Paul exhorted the gift of prophesy for believers to edify the church by, and since tongues with interpretation is for that purpose of edification, then there will be no tongues in USA.

And since we do have the written word of the KJV available to us... then we should be thankful that we can receive our edification by the written word of the KJV.

To me that is what you are saying. Probably others here are reading you the same way, whether they have a gift of tongues from God or not.

There are a lot of wrong roads. Because you changed roads doesn't mean that it must now be as you might say, "My way or the highway". God is really able to lead people to Him who are sincere and want for themselves what God wants for them without your help or even in spite of your help.

God at times uses us, but He really does not require our help. We are not to force feed others in any case. God never did. Jesus as a man of flesh never did. When we come to God we must surrender to Him... not to the way that @JesusIsFaithful leads. JIF makes mistakes as does Amadeus. The answer is always follow Jesus rather than any man no matter how good his message may sound.

I got the idea about 30 years ago that I wanted to have a prayer language. My wife and I were at a seminar, and they happened to ask if anyone wanted this gift. I went for the chance.

We were ushered into a side room where some fool tried to get us to make sounds.
To this day, I don't know what kept me from dressing him down one side and up the other. But, I didn't. I just got out of my seat and walked out. (Didn't even sneer at him.)

I went and sat in the car by myself, crying, and asking God why I had to see something so phony when all I wanted was to be closer to Him.

Since the instructions is for decency and order in the assembly, why is it that you keep applying it for justification for tongues for private use? That makes you coveting for tongues without interpretation rather than coveting to prophesy.

Devil's tongues existed long before Pentecost. Isaiah 8:19 confirms it as well as secular reports of ecstatic tongues existing long before Pentecost came with the real God's gift of tongues which was prophesied specifically for speaking unto the people in foreign languages of men.

You cannot call sinners away from that kind of tongue and their spirits unless God's gift of tongues is JUST for speaking unto the people in foreign languages for why tongues will come with interpretation in the assembly.

You keep on using that phrase "for private use" as if God never gave a gift to one person to encourage that person, to edify that person for his selected function in the Body of Christ. Would that not sometimes include gifts that perhaps many other parts of the Body would not receive because for them they are not necessary? To be the part we are to be as God wants us to be we must be prepared for that role. That is not private use. That is the means that God has selected to prepare that person for the role which He has given to him.

Do you even know what all of parts of the Body of Christ are much less what all of the functions of all of those parts are to be?

That is how He chose to speak to Elijah, but we are not Elijah and our work as part of the Body of Christ is not the work that was Elijah's. Would you put blinders on God as the driver of a wagon puts blinders on the horse pulling his wagon? The horse needs guidance. God does not.

If you were paying attention, I previously said that I have done just exactly what you have asked, but not because you asked it. I daily go to the lowest room with God completely empty of any ideas or doctrines or beliefs and if I need to be lifted up again He does the lifting. I have not done this one time only but daily for years. You are so busy arguing that you are right and that anyone who disagrees is wrong that you continue to leave out God. Obviously by your testimony of going to the lowest room in prayer, it has not prevented you from exalting yourself just as other have exalted you when you came out of that lowest room in prayer.

It is new age mentality to empty yourself in seeking an increase or filling or whatever.

For God to use tongues for all the supposed benefits for the individual tongue speaker and yet not give those same benefits to all believers to have for their individual benefits also makes God a respecter of person within the body of Christ, and hardly the God of love.

You do not see yourself clearly as you think you do, brother. Neither do the ones that exalt you at my expense or others' expense. We can only reprove by the scripture in exposing the works of darkness.

Fair warning to you, brother. Because you do empty yourself on a regular basis in seeking this increase, when an evil spirit does come in for leaving yourself wide open like that in letting a thief break through, may He remind you to call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, even if you cannot utter it out loud, He knows your thoughts, and He will come to the rescue. The deliverance may be quick or it may take a while, but pray for His mercy and hope in Him and He will deliver you from that evil spirit. The Holy Spirit is still in you, but that kind of practice can be like "he who let, will let till he be taken out of the way", meaning the restraining power of the Holy Spirit will continue to let you believe this lie until all restraining power of the Holy Spirit is out of the way for evil spirits to come in, even though the Holy Spirit is still in you since He is your seal of adoption.

I am not kidding around here, brother. You are asking for something like that to happen. There are seducing spirits and then there are evil spirits that destroys. The devil is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. I am praying to Jesus Christ to be ready to come to your aid because I believe He is leading me to pray for you to help you when you put yourself at risk like that.

So am I, whether you believe me or not. God is the most important thing in my life. A person does not have to be in your mold or in mine to please God. 24/7 as they say these days I strive to work with Him instead of for myself and yet still I still find myself coming up short.

Well scripture below says something is wrong with what you just said.

1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Remember, brother... when evil finally comes... call on Jesus Christ and know that He is in you to kick it out, but I hope after that, He impresses upon you to quit opening yourselves up like that and just pray normally at that throne of grace in being intimate with the Bridegroom since He is coming soon.

Because unless there is an interpreter, then the gift of tongues is not to be exercised in the church. What is hard about that?

There are two very different interpretations of 1 Corinthians 14, and you will never get agreement on this chapter. Best to move on.
