Experiences can differ between believers, correct?Brother, I can only speak of my own baptism in the Holy Spirit.
We can't saddle others with our experience.

Experiences can differ between believers, correct?Brother, I can only speak of my own baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Thanks for your view. Here's my view, if it helps.
Baptism is a religious ceremony. A religious ceremony should be an outward sign of an inward reality.
Therefore, the indwelling should already be present in the one baptized. Baptism is a public declaration of that fact.
But this is NOT to diminish the power of that moment, BOTH in the life of the believer and those that witness the event.
This is why we call it Believer's baptism.

I agree.Experiences can differ between believers, correct?
We can't saddle others with our experience.

I had a midwife who was very different. She was catholic, and yet, she prayed to Jesus. I never heard her pray to a saint.
Exactly. That's why I gave an example of one catholic person I know who didn't pray to "Mary" or some person they have idolized as a "saint." Idolatry is sin, and a person cannot be saved without trusting in Christ alone for their salvation ....not self, good works, church attendance, praying the rosary so many times a day, not the pope ....and not "Mary."Rather than toss the whole Church in the dumpster, I see them as individuals with varying degrees of understanding
Good thing @Naomanos quoted that post. I completely overlooked it. Thanks to both of you.Exactly. That's why I gave an example of one catholic person I know who didn't pray to "Mary" or some person...
It’s biblical....as long as one is Born Again....how can he do any of what you say above....if one hasn’t been birthed in the Spirit......?That's actually VERY biblical. I hope @Ritajanice is reading this.
The Spirit helps us in our weakness when we do not know what to pray for.
Because the Spirit himself intercedes for us through "wordless groans". (tongues)
The Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
My goodness, where is this coming from? The Holy Spirit must reside in the heart/ taken up residence.....in a Born Again......and I know 100% he’s in my spirit....do you know he’s taken up residence in yours?.. @St. SteVen ?
I hope you are listening to the Living word @St. SteVen ......there is a lot of talk on this page, none of which has been backed up by scripture....
My goodness, where is this coming from?
Questioning the indwelling of the Spirit in me and claiming a lack of biblical support on this topic?
Seriously?
You seem to have a bee in your bonnet for some reason. ???
What's the problem?
We are under the New Covenant ?As I asked earlier,
was Saul of Tarsus born again before the Lord spoke to him on the road to Damascus? (nope)
Since you insist on scripture (for things you already know), here you go. Will you continue to refute the Bible?
Acts 9:1-4 NIV
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats
against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest
2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus,
so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way,
whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him,
“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

Why not?I don’t mean he speaks to me in an audible voice.
So, why don't you believe her?Although I’ve heard testimonies from my pastors wife...that he spoke to her in an audible voice, told her who she was going to marry..and she did marry him.
That was my testimony.Did you hear the word of God in an audible voice @St. SteVen ?
Show us your fruit. Thanks. No bee in my bonnet....only the Holy Spirit in my spirit.
I see the problem now. This occurred to me yesterday, but I haven't addressed it yet.Everything must line up with scripture....not all this secular talk I see on this page....I can voice as much as you.....sorry if it upsets you.
I see secular talk in this page....all they do is Glorify themselves....that is not of God.
Why not?
Jesus says his sheep hear his voice and follow.
Perhaps you need to learn to recognize his voice.
You are probably ignoring him.

So, why don't you believe her?
That was my testimony.
Do we need to return to that God-forsaken "How to evaluate a testimony" topic? - LOL
I hope not. Why are you so stubborn?

Show us my fruit?Show us your fruit. Thanks.

WHAT! ???There is plenty of secular talk on this page...
God’s word is the foundation on what we stand...I see the problem now. This occurred to me yesterday, but I haven't addressed it yet.
If the Corinthian church had not been "swinging from the chandeliers", we would not
have 1 Corinthians chapters twelve through fourteen, where we find some 90% of everything
we know about spiritual gifts, and the manifestation of the Spirit.
That's about all the instruction we have.
We need to start there and then build on that foundation with experience.
This is a pioneering work. Trying to re-establish what was common in the early church.
Question: Did Jesus heal the sick in his deity, or in his humanity?
/
Are you forcing what you believe to be seeing on this page, onto me.WHAT! ???
Since when is discussing the operation of spiritual gifts "secular talk"?
/
Define audible. They hear God’s voice through the Holy Spirit who lives in their spirit....it’s not audible.
That saw cuts both ways. Please don’t FORCE your opinion onto me, thanks.
