Here's my view, if it helps.

Baptism is a religious ceremony. A religious ceremony should be an outward sign of an inward reality.
Therefore, the indwelling should already be present in the one baptized. Baptism is a public declaration of that fact.
But this is NOT to diminish the power of that moment, BOTH in the life of the believer and those that witness the event.

This is why we call it Believer's baptism.

/
Thanks for your view.

Even though I don’t understand it....not that it matters if I don’t understand it....it’s your view....as my view was my view...

I had a midwife who was very different. She was catholic, and yet, she prayed to Jesus. I never heard her pray to a saint.

This was me as an adult Catholic. I prayed to Jesus and no one else. As a kid, I did what my mom and grandparents said to do, so I prayed to Mary and the Saints. Not as an adult Catholic though.

Now I am no longer Catholic, but Episcopalian and there is not the Mary devotion that you see in the Catholic church. There is no praying to Saints.

Rather than toss the whole Church in the dumpster, I see them as individuals with varying degrees of understanding
Exactly. That's why I gave an example of one catholic person I know who didn't pray to "Mary" or some person they have idolized as a "saint." Idolatry is sin, and a person cannot be saved without trusting in Christ alone for their salvation ....not self, good works, church attendance, praying the rosary so many times a day, not the pope ....and not "Mary."

That's actually VERY biblical. I hope @Ritajanice is reading this.
The Spirit helps us in our weakness when we do not know what to pray for.
Because the Spirit himself intercedes for us through "wordless groans". (tongues)
The Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
It’s biblical....as long as one is Born Again....how can he do any of what you say above....if one hasn’t been birthed in the Spirit......?

I’m not saying he’s not leading them to Jesus, indeed he may well be.....but, without that vital Spiritual rebirth that only God can do.....they are still dead in sin......

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

How can the Spirit help anyone if they haven’t received the rebirth/ birthed in the Spirit....everything must line up with God’s Living word?

Wind service doesn’t save anyone....you must be Born Again....those who don’t have the Spirit of God Living in them, do not belong to God....they can waffle as much as they like about what they hear from God.

That doesn’t make it true.

Only the Holy Spirit can reveal God’s truth to his Born Again Children.

The Holy Spirit must reside in the heart/ taken up residence.....in a Born Again......and I know 100% he’s in my spirit....do you know he’s taken up residence in yours?.. @St. SteVen ?

I hope you are listening to the Living word @St. SteVen ......there is a lot of talk on this page, none of which has been backed up by scripture....

John 3:3

King James Version

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Do you know what it means to see God’s Kingdom?

Misunderstandings about hearing the Lord

Hearing men preach or say things like:
“The Lord spoke to me”.
“The Lord told me”.
“The Lord showed me”.

Are; secular expressions that can be confusing.

Scripturally:
No human man has heard “Gods voice”…

The Lords followers (sheep) hear “the Lords voice”.(as long as they “choose” to continue following)

Those “IN” Christ, always hear “the Lords voice”. He is Forever “with” them. He has already claimed them, calling “them”…
“My sheep.”

All communication between The Lord and a man…or…A man and the Lord…is…spiritual, via mans spirit to the Lords Spirit…or the Lords Spirit to the mans spirit.

It has nothing to do with the “ears” hearing an “audible sound”, as is understood in the secular world.

Spiritual communication does not require audible sound.

Glory to God,
Taken

Spiritual Ears means hearing the word of God...which must penetrate the believers heart/ Spirit ....we learn to open our ears to hear God’s word, through the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 11:15 in Other Translations

15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear. 15 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

I don’t mean he speaks to me in an audible voice.

Although I’ve heard testimonies from my pastors wife...that he spoke to her in an audible voice, told her who she was going to marry..and she did marry him.

Did you hear the word of God in an audible voice @St. SteVen ?

He connects to me through his Spirit...as he lives in my spirit..the Holy Spirit that is.....he’s in me and he has NEVER left...he just keeps getting stronger in me...and little old me...has become less and very insignificant.....

There is nothing interesting in me.....only my Father is the life giver....therefore submit only to him through the Spirit.

Don’t listen to a lot of secular talk....it’s absolutely rubbish and definitely “ SELF SEEKING “...

My goodness, where is this coming from?
Questioning the indwelling of the Spirit in me and claiming a lack of biblical support on this topic?
Seriously?

You seem to have a bee in your bonnet for some reason. ???
What's the problem?

As I asked earlier,
was Saul of Tarsus born again before the Lord spoke to him on the road to Damascus? (nope)
Since you insist on scripture (for things you already know), here you go. Will you continue to refute the Bible?

Acts 9:1-4 NIV
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats
against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest
2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus,
so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way,
whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him,
“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

Seriously?

All I did was ask you a question...like you have asked questions of me...regarding being birthed in the Spirit?...you have questioned me a lot about my rebirth....did you see me getting upset and defensive @St. SteVen ?

Why so defensive....I can pick it up in your text?

There is plenty of secular talk on this page, imo...if you can’t see it no worries....I hope you aren’t blowing steam out of them nostrils..LOL.

No bee in my bonnet....only the Holy Spirit in my spirit.

We are under the New Covenant ?

Anyone can think they heard God’s voice?

Sauls birthing is scriptural is it not?

We must be Born Again.....which is a spiritual rebirth.

Everything must line up with scripture....not all this secular talk I see on this page....I can voice as much as you.....sorry if it upsets you.

I see secular talk in this page....all they do is Glorify themselves....that is not of God.

Why not?
Jesus says his sheep hear his voice and follow.
Perhaps you need to learn to recognize his voice.
You are probably ignoring him.

So, why don't you believe her?

That was my testimony.
Do we need to return to that God-forsaken "How to evaluate a testimony" topic? - LOL
I hope not. Why are you so stubborn?

I see the problem now. This occurred to me yesterday, but I haven't addressed it yet.

If the Corinthian church had not been "swinging from the chandeliers", we would not
have 1 Corinthians chapters twelve through fourteen, where we find some 90% of everything
we know about spiritual gifts, and the manifestation of the Spirit.
That's about all the instruction we have.

We need to start there and then build on that foundation with experience.
This is a pioneering work. Trying to re-establish what was common in the early church.

Question: Did Jesus heal the sick in his deity, or in his humanity?

They hear God’s voice through the Holy Spirit who lives in their spirit....it’s not audible.

And NO your own assumption of me ignoring God.....The very opposite actually...I’m very much in the Spirit, hence checking everything with scripture.

Once again flesh talk.
Show us your fruit. Thanks.

/
Show us my fruit?

I think you will find it’s the Holy Spirit fruit......how can one produce fruit in their own strength?

Again just your assumption..that there is no fruit of Jesus in me.

He did tell us, that it wouldn’t be easy....I speak God’s truth that he relays to me through the Spirit.

I can’t help it...if it upsets you.

God’s word is the foundation on what we stand...

We must be Born Again to understand what that means..

Calm down...please.LOL.

WHAT! ???
Since when is discussing the operation of spiritual gifts "secular talk"?

/
Are you forcing what you believe to be seeing on this page, onto me.

Please don’t FORCE your opinion onto me, thanks.

You should know God NEVER forces.

As I’ve said, a lot of wind talk on this page...secular jargon..imo.

Please don’t FORCE your opinion onto me, thanks.
That saw cuts both ways.
You have the idea that if it hasn't happened to you, it CAN'T happen to anyone else.
While you REFUSE to grow in the Spirit. What are you afraid of?
Can't you trust God like you did 30 years ago?
You had your experiences and then put your spiritual vehicle up on blocks and locked the garage.
"Nope, ain't doin' that no mo'. I'm done!"
