When studying the Revelation 20 chapter, men's doctrines have a bogus teaching that a second resurrection happens for the wicked at the time of God's Great White Throne Judgment after Christ's "thousand years" reign.

They get that idea from not understanding the Revelation 20:5 verse about the "dead", which in reality is about the 'spiritually' dead souls raised on the day of Jesus' 2nd coming. And they will go through Christ's "thousand years" reign while in a state of condemnation, still subject to being cast into the "lake of fire" after the 1,000 years, which is called the "second death" in Rev.20.

In John 5:28-29 Lord Jesus showed that BOTH types of resurrection occur on the day of His future return. He said all in the graves shall hear His voice, and come forth, either to the "resurrection of life" (i.e., the "first resurrection" of Rev.20), or to the "resurrection of damnation". This revelation by Lord Jesus immediately ends all debate about some 'supposed' resurrection of the wicked after... the "thousand years" which men's doctrines wrongly teach.

The idea of Rev.20:5 that the "dead" lived not again until the thousand years were over, is NOT about being asleep in the grave with their flesh raised at the end of the Rev.20 thousand years to stand in God's final Judgment to the "lake of fire". That is a bogus tradition from men who refuse to understand about the world to come when Jesus returns, and what kind of body the resurrection is.

The idea of the "dead" lived not again until after the thousand years is about a 2nd resurrection unto Eternal Life in Jesus Christ, because the 'implied' 2nd resurrection is based on the type resurrection of the 1st one. So what TYPE of resurrection is the "first resurrection"? It is unto Eternal Life through Faith on Jesus Christ, and at His coming only His faithful elect will be in that 1st one.

But when the "dead" who will be raised on the day of Jesus' return stand at the final Judgment of Rev.20, the books are then opened to see if any of their names are found in the book of life. That means SOME of those spiritually "dead" who are condemned at Christ's return will convert to the Faith on Jesus Christ during His "thousand years" reign with His elect! This means the 'implied' 2nd resurrection type is unto Eternal Life, not condemnation into the "lake of fire"! Those of that spiritually "dead" group who still reject Jesus Christ at that final Judgment when the books are opened will go into the "lake of fire".

Christ's revealing about those cast to the "outer darkness" is about those spiritually "dead" of Revelation 20:5 which will be raised on the day of Christ's return and be of the "resurrection of damnation" per Jesus in John 5:28-29.

Matt 8:11-12
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
KJV

Those "children of the kingdom" represent God's chosen seed of Israel who still reject God's Son Jesus Christ and His saving grace by His blood shed upon His cross.

That "outer darkness" will be a literal place of holding; it is not the "lake of fire". The casting of the damned into the "lake of fire" will only happen after Christ's future "thousand years" reign, as written in Rev.20.

Here's an example of where that "outer darkness" will be located...

Rev 22:14-15
14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
KJV

Christ's faithful are shown being able to enter through the gates of the holy city in that future time. But the place for the wicked will be outside... those gates of the city, representing the "outer darkness".

Matt 22:11-13
11 And when the king came in to see the guests,
he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, "Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?" And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, "Bind him hand and foot, and
take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
KJV

That wedding represents the marriage supper Jesus promised to give His servants when He returns in our near future. That one without the proper wedding garment would represent the unbeliever, the faithless. Recall the five foolish virgins who had some of the Oil to go in their lamps, but they didn't have a spare vessel of the Oil like the wise virgins did, and thus the Bridegroom rejected those foolish ones. And with another group that claimed to do works in Jesus' name, Jesus will tell those to get away from Him, because they worked iniquity (Matt.7).

In Ezekiel 44, the Zadok (the Just) priests represent Christ's elect that will be able to serve Him at His table. One of their jobs during Christ's future "thousand years" reign will be to teach God's people that erred the difference between the holy and the profane, and the clean and the unclean. The job of the Old Testament priests of Israel was to teach the people The Word of God. How many of us today are prepared to do those things in Christ's future Millennial Kingdom on earth?

Basically death is hell death of the body is another thing you don't go into non existence so its not really death in the definition of the word only death of the body not the soul.So if no one is actually saved until the end then all are in hell (death). No one in a fallen state can enter heaven so if no one is raised up all are still in a fallen state right up to the very first human the only other place is hell. Some how that doesn't sound right is Jesus victory saved for the last day only or was eternal life given right after his resurrection and ascension to heaven.?Is there some giant waiting room for the saved and the damned?Does time exist in heaven do you think there a clock ticking in heaven. The afterlife is thought of as a timeless place a eternal place be it heaven or hell time here has no meaning there.

I don't believe any of this is bogus. At least it doesn't sound bogus to me.

Revelation 20
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
