NOPE... I never count down... was just going for the SHOCK factor.
What I am going to do this year however... is make Jesus a birthday cake. I do not participate in Christmas... I don't have the finances to buy gifts for ANYONE... My view on Christmas is that it is Jesus' Birthday.
@Addy This year is flying past fast.....

What I like about Christmas is the opportunity to send greeting cards with friendly messages and references to Scripture.

I should probably say Messianic Sukkot. Details. Jews think sukkot could be Jesus' real birthday. You get to make a fort. I kinda like that idea. I used to like making forts. Lol

People looking forward to Christmas...
Might be a damper IF, overseas buying and gift giving is your usual. Ports closing & Shipping crazy, like all other present man-made disturbances, may be an issue.

So anyway, have been recently collecting, pine cones from the largest of our pine trees, (about 60-70' feet high), seems they are dropping cones first.
Intend to dry, debug, scent them, for decorative and gift purposes.

Then want to go to Addy's for cookies! ;)

Have you ever noticed when it begins to rain pinecones??? I mean this literally.... It seems to happen in sessions... where all of a sudden... these weapons come from the sky.... dropping on the sidewalk/road with a thud..
There are many pine trees where I live... and it's truly a phenomenon in my opinion... lol

Makes note.... to bake extra cookies for Taken.

I have not noticed..."raining pine cones", so to speak. Pine "needles" Yes, in 10 mph + winds. Have some smaller Pines, about 30'+ high, with trails cut through, and have dodged many a limbs falling, lol.

Okay, on the cookies!! So do you have a preference on scented pine cones? Cinnamon? Evergreen? Ocean Breeze? ;)

Perhaps it is because I live on the waterfront where the wind can get quite high... but sometimes when I am standing outside... I will hear it...
The attack of the pine cones... LOL.... Thump... thump... thump... thump... Many a casualty has been spotted dodging them.

Onto the lovely topic of pine cones.... GOTTA be evergreen... OH my goodness.... it's CHRISTMAS!!!!!

All that fuss I am making about Christmas... and I don't even celebrate it... WAIT.... I do usually make myself a feast... inclusive of a tourtiere. ( if you don't know what that is... well... you are missing out. ) It's a french Canadian cuisine.

My friend bought me a lumberjack Christmas tree a few years ago... this is what it looks like... I took the picture from a stock photo on line but.... I have that exact ornament on my tree.... and it stays there all year long... I store it in my closet and bring it out December 1st... makes me laugh.

OK... I will not make another comment about Christmas ( AT THIS TIME ).

LOL the plunger...cute!

I like a fresh tree...the saddest looking one... It's more for family fun, decorating different every year, sort of geared toward the kids interest at the time....toys, stuffed animals, army stuff, cowboy stuff, kids glued, pasted, baked, homemade stuff...
But the "celebration", is about sharing a meal, in Praise and Thankfulness to Jesus.

One of our daughters, keeps a tree up all year...changes the lights and decorations...by themes of sorts....valentines, spring, summer, fall, winter, easter, memorial, labor, etc. Has a fairly large foyer, for the tree space to welcome visitors.

The plunger tree... If it weren't for that tree.... I regress... my apartment would probably resemble a SCROOGE... as I am a minimalist... and I don't collect stuff... I do however enjoy the PAINS that others take in the name of FINE DECOR.... Beauty is something that does not fall short on me. I marvel at many of the beautifully decorated trees. I especially like the floral arrangement videos on decorating for the Holidays.

The theme trees/wreaths/sprays... are a lovely way of celebrating all the holidays year round...

AHHHHHHHH you are a man after my own heart... you express LOVE for the UNDERDOG tree.... the runt of the litter... the Charlie Brown Christmas tree.... I too am a fan of the saddest looking one... I'm the same way with humans.
