Well, if you consider that I don't make a habit of using all these poor arguments, and actually know some better ones, but hey, who cares about that?

IF you don't like it, don't read it, fine. I know God in the pages of my King James Bible, better than other translations. You think I'm deceived. I hear that a lot. In all honesty, someone who speaks as you do, and makes the arguments you make, I just do find a lot of credibility there.

And you cannot seem to extend the same graciousness to the KJV translation which the translators extended to other translators. That says something too. It all says something. We are revealed in our words, which we choose, how we frame them.

I limited it because it what happened when the KJV was produced. It is extremely poor method on your part to jump to the ASV when all the ASV did was follow the lead of the KJV. The ASV does not establish the validity of the KJV.

You realize, right, that I wasn't the one who brought up the ASV, I just read you response, and recognized it for what it was. Yes, of course, the ASV does not bootstrap the KJV! However, that wasn't the point, was it? The point was, not only the KJV used that word. Your claim was the KJV "corrupted the pool". Yet another specious argument if you can't substantiate it.

I hate that Hebrews 13 was perverted by the sinful despot king james. It has made rulers of men when Jesus Christ is the ONLY ruler of any man.

Like I asked earlier, are you a loyal subject of England?

The English monarchy still owns the KJV... .OWNS the KJV......

For the record, I am NOT anti-KJV. Just want to make that clear. The KJV is a good translation, but no longer the best translation. It was 400 years ago.

It's incredible that people don't understand the underlying reason for King James ordering a translation glorifying his kingship, and removing the footnotes of the Geneva Bible that opposed this doctrine.

Nope. The KJV had its own study notes and they too were often "Calvinist".

There is no Mosartes text before the 9th century. The MT is a reconstructed texts. Not a preserved text.

This comment displays your total ignorance about this matter. If there was no Masoretic Text before the 9th century then the Isaiah scroll found with the Dead Sea Scrolls (from c 200 BC) would not have been an exact replica of the Masoretic Text. Obviously you have no idea about the extreme care taken by the Hebrew scribes to transmit the text from generation to generation in its purity. Furthermore you are attacking the doctrine of the preservation of Scripture by God Himself (through the scribes).

And even the Lord Jesus Christ gave His stamp of approval to the Hebrew Bible as it existed in His time and that meant 1500 years of faithful transmission. He even spoke of the four main division of the Hebrew Bible as (1) the Law of Moses (5 books), the Prophets (8 books), and the Psalms or Writings (11 books) for a total of 24 books.
