You claim MY thread is divisive and then you work to marginalize me. ???Your thread has become divisive...
Honestly, I think @Lambano should be questioning YOU and your motives more seriously.
What does that mean there is no good news?
Answered above.Except of course for those few lucky ones that God chose?
Yes!Plenty of why God chose us in this scripture, is there not?
God CHOOSES EVERYONE who chooses His Son.You have probably answered this question, so, apologies as I’m asking it again, are you saying that God doesn’t choose some?
Absolutely.Doesn’t the Spirit himself testify with our spirit that we are his children?
I could show you AGAIN. But you would brush it off as being "unbiblical".if I'm not mistaken, you also believe in Universalism, right?
Where exactly is that supported in Scripture?
Thanks for the explanation....Maybe this gospel?

This is interesting...for me, I could not tell anyone that Jesus died for their sins, not until I received those words by divine revelation, I had to be Born Again to understand my sin...I only knew I was a sinner after I became Born Again by divine revelation. When we preach the gospel we tell persons that Jesus died for their sins and that they could be saved/be born again, by accepting this sacrifice that Jesus made for them and by believing in Him and obeying Him.
That's a real gem. - LOLWhy should I worry about death? It's not gong to happen in my lifetime.
I don’t understand this, that’s not how it was for me.God CHOOSES EVERYONE who chooses His Son.
He let's US decide if we want to be saved/born again or not.
God respects us enough to give us free will to make that choice.
This is really for @Ritajanice but I ask that you chime in.You might have to elaborate on that. How does Jesus's death and resurrection enable us to become Born of the Spirit?
And more to @GodsGrace's point, if I wasn't already one of God's favorite people, would you be telling me a lie? Does Jesus's death and resurrection allow Joe Skeptic and Jane Cynic out on the streets to also become a Spirit child of God? Should they believe it?
Agreed, the Holy Spirit resides in my heart/ spirit, that’s where he has lived for the past 33 yrs......what a journey that has been, he’s the only one we can follow, but boy is it hard, to have suddenly been taken out of the world by His Spirit and placing us into his Kingdom. In the NT the Holy Spirit actually dwells within us.
1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God
You've given this no thought SS.St. SteVen said:
Don't blame that on me. Takes two to tango.
The question remains unanswered.
Who determines WHAT is "the broader context"? (the whole Bible view)
Based on who's "whole Bible view"?
Do you honestly think I could go through the same motions and arrive at a different conclusion?
You have your "whole Bible view" and I have mine. (which lacks no sincerity) IMHO
Nothing flippant about my statements. I have given this tons of thought. (200+ topics worth)
Why is YOUR whole Bible view superior to mine?

My sin fell off me like a ton of bricks, I was as light as a feather...my testimony.
Remember I had never read a Bible ..not until after my conversion.
Romans 6:1-23 KJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory …
Ephesians 4:
21 if so be ye did hear him, and in him were taught, as truth is in Jesus;
22 ye are to put off concerning the former behaviour the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit,
23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and to put on the new man, which, according to God, was created in righteousness and kindness of the truth.
Theologians who are trained? This may sound strange to Ritajanice, but theologians who are trained to explain scripture, have deduced this from the bible teaching and is accepted by all denominations that I know of.
Love it Brother, wahoo on the same page today...Amen!!Hey Sister, I am wanting to sit here and read this bible I got called the young's literal translation, and its kind of like the King James Version but a more literal translation and maybe its meant for me to share with you, only God knows. When I read your message and flipped around a little bit my eyes fell on this.
Finally, an answer, thanks. You've given this no thought SS.
Sorry.
As I've said many times on this very forum...
We cannot call ourselves Christian and then go about making up our own Christianity.
The view of @Johann is superior to yours because he believes in MAINLINE Christianity.
YES.
I never read a bible till about 8 years after! This is interesting...for me, I could not tell anyone that Jesus died for their sins, not until I received those words by divine revelation, I had to be Born Again to understand my sin...I only knew I was a sinner after I became Born Again by divine revelation.

Isn't that unbiblical?I never read a bible till about 8 years after!
It's good to have some time alone with our Lord....
you come to know some things churches can't teach you and
the bible alone cannot show you.
Which one is unbiblical? There are different atonement theories, each one correct in its own way...
