Actually the gospel is found in the old testament in more than one form beginning with the proto evangel in Genesis chapter 3 and most clearly in Isaiah chapter 53.StanJ said:Michael the only thing you've done here is quote scripture as you've done numerous times before in this thread, but with NO exegesis. You're now going in circles.
The gospel is NOT the OT, the gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ and the antithesis to Jesus Christ has NOT been revealed.
The Holy Spirit does guide us into all truth, but if the truth is not in line with the written word then it is not the Holy Spirit doing the guiding. It doesn't take the length you put into your posts to make a point, and IMO all the verboseness just obfuscates the issue. You can assert and spout conjecture all you want, but nobody knows the hour or the day, not even Jesus. Matt 24:36
Nothing in scripture states that the anti-Christ is the antithesis of our Lord, and I'd be thrilled if you could in some way prove that. There is nothing that even suggests that the anti-Christ will know who he is, while Jesus certainly knew Himself.
Now, show me where I've posted anything at all that isn't in alignment with scripture and I'll address it. And when, may I ask have I ever stated that Jesus' return would be on some particular hour or day?
I have a calling to prepare and build up a people for the Lord, to look for His coming, and to serve and protect His own. I've been doing this as a born again believer for about 22 years and as a servant of the Lord for about 28 years prior to that? I've heard my teaching repeated by evangelicals on the radio, though I doubt that they know the source, just as I've repeated theirs, because what we have is from the Spirit of God and the illumination of His word.
What do you have? I haven't seen anything yet, but some chapter and verse labels and some unsupported assertions of your own. Some of my personal experiences have found their way into popular inspirational materials, such as my comments about some star fish that I threw back into the water at Jones Beach when I was a kid, though I have no idea how anyone would know this other than the small group of friends with me, yet it clearly was the work of God. What are your credentials? Have you done anything other than oppose the work of Christ in the preparation of His Church? I'd be pleased to hear anything other than a regurgitation of the same absurd accusations, so if you actually have something to say, then just say it, and if its from the Lord, I'll know it.
