I retired, too, but it was because I was bored to tears with my job.

I hated mine Bob, when I made the truth my own around the year 2000 I decided I wanted to do more in Jehovah's service so I knuckled down and was able to retire in 2013, and strangely enough I am doing much less for Jehovah now than I was then, because of circumstances. I do still do what I can though.

Yes and no.

The "practice" of keeping the Sabbath is certainly not "required" of Christians. But the practice points to the rest of God portrayed by the days of creation wherein He rested on the seventh day. As such, all Christians will come to celebrate entering into His rest (which many do before the death of the flesh), of whom it is written, "to live is Christ" for those who are "alive and remain" in the flesh.

Thanks for the response Scott, I fully agree, did you know we are still in God's Sabbath day sir?

No sir, each day had a beginning and an ending. God's Sabbath day will end, but what that holds for us is anyones guess.
No...each of the six days, yes, but not the seventh:
  1. Genesis 1:5
God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
  2. Genesis 1:8
And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
  3. Genesis 1:13
So the evening and the morning were the third day.
  4. Genesis 1:19
So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
  5. Genesis 1:23
So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
  6. Genesis 1:31
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
  7. Genesis 2:2
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

Yes sir, you are correct, the six days have ended, and like you and I agree on the 7th has not yet ended. But it will, just like all the other creative days did.

Yes...as we shall forever be.

But then, there is this.

Is 66:22,23
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

God was through creating--this is what is meant by rest here, and it says He rested, not is still resting.
Creation was 6 literal days.

That verse also says from one new moon to another.. From month to month and from week to week, God’s saints will worship Him for eternity in the new earth.

That is not what it says, nor would it, for when God has finished His work He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

That is, from eternity past to eternity future, shall all flesh come to worship before me.

No maam, they were creative days. Paul showed in his writings that they were still under the Sabbath day of God, and would be for quite some time yet:
(Hebrews 4:3-5) 3 For we who have exercised faith do enter into the rest, just as he has said: “So I swore in my anger, ‘They will not enter into my rest,’” although his works were finished from the founding of the world. 4 For in one place he has said of the seventh day as follows: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works,” 5 and here again he says: “They will not enter into my rest.”

We do know some of what the future will bring Scott. Anything I would say about what God is going to do at the end of His Sabbath would only be speculation. We are made in God's image, and all of us create, and work. Our future is given somewhat, we will build houses. I am very sure God will be doing something, but time will have to tell what it is going to be. One thing is for certain, it will be good.

This is basically a poll, but if you chose other, please feel to explain why

Just curious, Bob, are you worried that some poor soul is weighing him/herself down with an awful burden of resting and worshiping every Seventh day, or did you have some other reason for starting yet another thread on this very contentious subject? ;)

No, it doesn't. It says from Sabbath to Sabbath. It is talking about our activity in the earth made new.
