Good...now follow through. :) Seek out the Lord Jesus spoken of in the bible.

Don't take this as a personal attack...just a gentle encouragement. If you don't feel like seeking can help or has helped...that there is no one really out there listening and waiting to respond...then ok. It's just that some here find that sad. (me included).

I think that some here feel intimidated by the spiritual lingo...and react in the flesh about it...which re-enforces the notion that being carnal is bad.

But that's not the way I think.

I see the spiritual high calling as a privilege that few of us will be able to attain to...and last there. I am very doubtful of my own sticking power as well. i don't trust myself with anything! And this is because I have learned what is in us...the flesh that is.

But I see humility is crucial to get anything from God. God is very humble. He hides all His goodness...while providing all the goodness in the world.

So we are to be more like that.

I see salvation as something much more basic than the high calling in Christ. All we have to do is remain faithful with what we have been given...and endure to the end of the race with that. Holding fast that which we have been given. We are to love others..not judge them or try to knock them down. We are to encourage what is right in a person.

The high calling on the other hand is about glory and eternal authority...not just salvation. The kingdom of God is VAST.

So if you have not yet encountered the Lord in His power and walked in the light...your life isn't over yet. Go after it. Seek Him. That is my exhortation to all. He's there waiting for us to get our hearts right before Him...a living sacrifice which is our proper response to the gospel.

The bible didn't write itself. it was written by the Spirit as He moved people. The Spirit is the authority. HE guides us into all Truth. He testifies of Jesus.

If an author remains alive and has written a book, the book shows whether or not the author is an authority. The author does not try to prove a book is an authority. The book points to the author. Imagine arguing the contents of a book against it's author. That is what many are doing.

The problem with the bible-followers is that they don't realize that the author of the bible is here...the Spirit is alive. We can consult God on His message. We can ask for His kind of baptism...in Spirit and fire. We can go to Him for His life. Not a bible life...but an eternal spiritual life.

Well of course, but the first step starts with the Bible, and we continue to grow using the Word.

You know I have gotten rid of really rare basses and guitars (over the last 40 years or so) because I was afraid they would become idols. Sometimes I kick myself for it. But what is done is done.

If any member of the body suffers lack, it hurts the whole body. So...its everyones problem.

We can't stay disconnected or we will never get our health and strength and will never see our miracles. Because God doesn't give gifts and miracles for one man. He gives them to benefit all the members of the body.

So...its epis problem, and yours, and mine, if a member suffers lack. We are to build each other up in trust and encourage each other to continue in trust and be here for each other and love and bear with each other and forgive and move together as the Spirit leads us.

I almost feel as though I do not deserve this guitar. When I said I stink, I meant it, lol. I wish it to be in skillful hands. Not to mention, I do believe there is an OT scripture describing as to HOW to play music to God and, the word "skillfully" was in there somewhere, hahaha! I have too short fingers so I have to cheat on some chords...yeah, it can be done but...you NEVER get the fullness of the melody. Maybe I will leave it to you in my will! I had to have the tuning apparatus replaced as, one by one, the original bone tuning keys disintegrated right in my fingers. I still have all of the original hardware. I hated to do that but, it became impossible to play. Also have it's original cowhide case.

We were created for fellowship. First with God and then with His children. Yes, the whole body will suffer if even one lacks. There is a very good reason that God say's to "not forsake the gathering of the brethren". I no longer see that as having to be inside a brick and mortar structure. This site alone has shown me more love and genuine concern than several of the Church's I attended, NOT to mention, but I will - I have learned an awful lot since being on here :)

AHA! I kind of thought so . It's funny how when we were young we would be like "Hey, I'm ALMOST 23 ya know, or 21 etc. Now, as we are older, (well, with myself anyhow, lol)
it's more like: "Well, I'm ONLY 61, or 65 etc.
Well John, if you and your wife ever make it to Buffalo Ny...look me up and just maybe The Lord would want to gift you with something ;) I actually use an old classical more anyhow, lol. Easier on the fingertips too but...neck is wide :)
