Is anyone else a Seer?

There were seers in the Old Testament called prophets, but the word "seer" is not used in the New Testament for prophets. I just heard about this about 5 months ago at a country church in their adult Sunday school I like that meets for about an hour before their church service. They said they have three seers in their local church. I asked them about it and they said that all three could all see the glory around their pastor when he is giving the sermon. So I prayed and asked God if this gift is from him I would like it also. I already knew that according to 1 John 5:18 that because I wasn't in sin the devil couldn't give me his counterfeit that worldly mediums could see around anyone for no purpose I can think of they called an aura, so if it wasn't from God I wouldn't see anything supernatural. So I went in and sat in my usual place for church.

I saw nothing around Pastor Jim during his morning prayer, but as soon as he began his sermon a bright white glow emanated from around his head and shoulders! I had never seen that before. Now when I visit that church it happens every time he preaches, but only when he preaches. I believe it has to do with testing the spirits and discerning of spirits. I can't help but wonder if this gift happened to those in Corinth? 1 Corinthians 14:29 "Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge." Judge, how??? I have visited other churches since getting this gift and most of the time do not see anything during the sermon. To myself I count them as "non-sermons."

I did visit a church with a missionary friend of mine and her family that I was anxious to go to as it was the same denomination I went to in California, but it was too far away so had never gone to it. I was really looking forward to what I would see when the pastor started his sermon. But I wasn't prepared for what I saw! My mouth flew open and stayed open when I saw a thick black billowing cloud coming out of his head and filled up the space on his right side from the top of his head out to his shoulder. It became the backdrop for a lighter spinning tornado in the front and center! I looked around the church as it was so solid I thought everyone else had to see this thing! I even looked at my missionary friend who is also filled with the Spirit but by the peaceful look on her face she couldn't see it. I looked back and it was still there and stayed next to him the whole time. There was a luncheon afterwards that they wanted to stay for so I did pull the pastor aside and told him about it as he needed to know so he could repent of whatever he was secretly into. I never told my friends that took me. And fortunately they didn't even ask even though they know I have this gift. I told that pastor that I wouldn't, but evidently he didn't believe me because he told them never to bring me again!

Does anyone else have this gift? Tell me what you've experienced.

What you described was an aura, a long time ago, I could see these but I stopped doing so willingly, However I do see evil dark shapes crawling around, occasionally, no later than last year I saw them again around the house approaching slowly they are a warning to me but like you, I am firm in my faith and am not afraid. however when you mentioned seer, I tough you meant someone who sees the future, I have such a gift on occasion and it never failed however it is not prophecy and I am not asked to tell others but was given to me. The last thing I saw was about a near future and was about Jeremiah prophecy, about Jabob's trouble this is it, we are at the beginning of trouble, the tribulation and a Jesus second coming.

no not really, I think it did happen but I also know if is not normally useful ,however, it might helpful when you see theses aura around a preacher priest...

in any case testing the spirits is described in the bible, if someone teach something else from the bible it is not from God.

I have no idea what testing the spirits mean to you. In my Bible you either believe Jesus Christ came in the flesh or you don't.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

Why does it have to be God in control of everything when the whole world from every culture since the beginning of man has spoken about gods, angels, demons, and Satan? Even the Buddha speak about the realm of angry spirits. This the invisible society of spirits do seem to be behind much that occurs in the physical world. We are often told that people suffer because they deserve it. And we seem to be able to go into great explanations expressing a confidence in God's absolute sovereignty, defined here as control, that seems to provide many believers with a great deal of security. We teach in our churches that everything is under God's control, and thereby everything is proceeding as divinely planned, and that somehow it all fits together. This concept did not attain the status of a universal explanation for evil until years after a man was born on the planet who was called Augustine.

To have sovereignty doesn't mean one "controls" all. It means He can 'trump' anything' that would keep His ultimate goal from being fulfilled.

Rick Joyner says this verse gives men authority to vote in kings/presidents which God wouldn't want. Just like when Israel got a king when God didn't want them to have one.

Some 'things' we do are "good", but not God. (like tree of death) Some things are "acceptable" but not God (like King Saul). Some things we do are spirit led and are "perfect" (like faith plus works).

One of my best friends also sees shadows around certain people. And once she actually saw the demons that make up the shadows. They looked something like monkeys. What would you say billowing clouds of smoke as a backdrop for a tornado in the center of it means?

For God to be able to see into the future to show it to you would require Him to be in control of everything... both good and evil.

From Job we understand that the evil intent of opponents to God are only able to influence within limits.

That is a very good point. Thanks for challenging my belief which has been shaped by earlier indoctrination. I'll seek the Spirit to bring further clarification.

Unfortunately, they are all connected to evil or unclean spirits in every case, witches, warlocks 'seers', etc... able to 'control', 'manipulate', or 'see' things of this manner. Need to be careful and discern what power you are getting and from whom...

I have never seen demons enough to know or want to know what they look like but was attacked when young. For what you saw that evil spirit(s) are infecting this preacher, they are impatient to destroy and take down with them as many as possible using deception, they are clever and will corrupt many. Stay clear of those.

I do, Jesus was in the flesh, but also one must live from every word Jesus said, he is the living Water, none can go to the Father but through Jesus. This is where discernment is important, anyone saying different from what Jesus was teaching is not of God.

Thankfully we are sheep of the Great Shepherd. So we can leave fear behind us because He said,
Jhn 10:2-5 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Again we are His sheep who know His voice and follow after Him.
We will recognise the voice of strangers and we will walk away from them. So my encouragement is to spend as much time as you can listening to the Spirit of Jesus the Shepherd so you know His voice, therefore what's not His voice.
