The site ahead contains malware

I have the AVG browser. Yesterday I looked into their Antivirus thinking to switch the one I currently have. I downloaded it but it wasn't free as I previously thought so I uninstalled it.

I'm wondering if the AVG connection and my not subscribing to their Anti virus is the issue. Could this be a spoof warning designed to get me to be afraid and go back and subscribe?

Years ago that was a tactic Norton used when a subscriber didn't resubscribe before the current one ran out. Then after it did the virus and malware warnings would increase.

Looking forward to any advice. If nothing else, if this is a real Malware issue it will help the community to know if this warning.

God Bless.

I don't get any warnings upon visiting this site. Does anyone else? @Nancy @dev553344

Does the warning you see have a phone number to call? If so, spammers try to get people to phone them. They sound professional but want to be able to install something (usually) "anydesk". That allows them to control your computer.

They say they need a payment to clear up your problem. They are trying to access your bank account. Or they say they need gift cards for you to pay them with.

I learned the above from Kitboga and Scammer's Payback on YouTube.

I did use AVG a very long time ago and found it less than the professional grade systems. I'm not sure how it is now days but I did see good reviews on it.

I took the time to investigate the issue a little more. The new owner some years back decided to upgrade the server software and also added adds. Some people left due to the harassment from the adds that were not Christian content and some were just upset about adds. The owner said he addressed the issue with non-Christian adds coming up and the add company was supposed to be complying.

My concern is that perhaps that AVG software either sees something in the server software or the adds software as malware. I think a good solution to browsing securely is Firegfox browser, I tested a add blocker and anti malware system of theirs and had no problems. :)

Here are some threads related to that from the new owner @doughty:

Thank you.
I'll look at Firefox.
I didn't get this warning until after the AVG Antivirus download and uninstall. All on the same day. This is why I wondered if this was something AVG had going on.

Thank you for your post. It could be that AVG browser is catching what you talked about.

Thank you again.

Glad I could be of help. I tried to look at the overall security issues of the Christianity Board from the internet search hits and couldn't find anything as the search was drown out by the higher ranking mass number of non-relevant content. There may be a website that has analyzed the flaws of the Christianity Board site, but I stopped searching after failure.

If there is a real problem with Christian security there is the website here for reporting threats:

There are things you can do to protect your self depending on the browser. Some offer a VPN which makes it impossible for anyone to do anything to your phone PC or what ever. You can also subscribe to a VPN its cost around 5-6 bucks a month.I use Firefox with uBlock Origin and no-script.Noscript will shut any of them down you just turn it on and bam your back in control. This site will still work with noscrip I don't see any malicious scrip running I scanned it it could be coming from somewhere else. Firefox offers a lot of control if you know how to use it you have browser tools that give you information.

I looked and it the security setting on you browser if you turn it lower this will stop happening. You can turn it off or lower it .Its set at a high level.Thats a warning only a browser gives you if you proceed.

"Our systems have detected unusual traffic" its your device being cutoff by the network its been happening to many people its a network problem that is not on your end.You may be going through many devices to make the connection. It is most common if you are using a VPN or free public WiFi, but it can happen on any network.I get it when I go visit someone if I try to use my phone thats what it says. Some people here might be getting this issue the odd time. Its new I haven't seen it before it started a few weeks ago.

Sounds like a Windoze Issue to me, caused by installed software. I ceased with the dog chasing it's tail windoze insanity and switched to Ubuntu, Linux, in 06 and have run without antivirus from there on, without issue.

Thank you so much for that valuable information. I'll make changes once I'm off work.

No warnings here. Windows defender and firewall do the same as the other's claim, it is already built into your hard drive and I have not used any of those paid "services" like, Norton, Kaspersky or McAfee, just a malware program which is very cheap IMHO.
