How was your day?

Good morning from England. My day is only just starting. I am still in my pyjamas even though I got up two hours ago.. I have had my first cuppa and read my bible and came to the PC to add things to my shopping order. When I'm dressed I will have my breakfast and work on my crochet throw which is in different shades of red.

On the cheap hair-cuts…
Yup…we do the cheap. Two pair of different size and expensive hair only scissors and shaver and have cut each other’s hair for years…manicures, pedicures, have a massage table…Every few weeks, it’s my favorite date night, when it’s my turn to be pampered …. by my sweetheart.

Seriously, if you have kids, you have years to practice and train in hair-cutting techniques…they are the perfect models for training…lol

I am having a good one too. I love getting up before my husband and baby. Had Bible and prayer too. Then I caught up chatting with my friend from Scotland. Now im talking with hubby via phone.

Well I am in Spain at the moment, and it is very hot compared to the U.K. - I fly home at 11:00pm on Sunday. I have loved getting into the private pool at the villa and spending time with my eldest son and his family. We are up quite high and the walking up from the town is hard going, feeling my age a bit now.
@Pearl - I see it looks as if labour are going to win with the landslide ( if the exit polls are right, and its will be the worst result for the conservatives ) For those outside the U.K. , it was our general election today for a new prime minister. I voted by post before I went on holiday.

I am not sorry , I voted for labour - The conservatives are very much for the rich and Sunak wouldn’t understand financial hardship if it slapped him in the face !!!!!!!

Also, Im thinking conservatives in the U.K are unpopular---similar to U.S political conservatives except a lot less evenness. I wonder why that is.

I was in Barcelona last year for a few days. Very nice city.
Not car friendly but great transportation system. Hotter than here.
I don't like the heat anymore - must be getting old !

You now Wynona, I'm beginning to think that Liberal and Conservative mean different things on each side of the pond.
I don't like politics as much as I used to many years ago....but sometimes I hear what a liberal here believes and it's different.
I will tell you this, however, I know that the left (liberal) has gone overboard over there and the ideas are a bit too whacky for me.
It's the woke thing. We don't have it here in Italy and I hope we never do.

Southeast United States. It's our Independence day over here today. I may hear fireworks. Were big on those here in North Carolina.

Italy is so beautiful. Id love to visit one day!

Yes that’s the one - how stupid and insensitive was it to ask that man that question, it was at Christmas as well and he thought he looked so good !!!!
I think the different parties are different to that in the US , we have many other parties as well, so it’s not just between two ( although labour and conservatives are the main runners )
Labour use to be more for the working class, but that’s changed slightly over the years.

I am on holiday in Spain - I live in the U.K.
I remember you from when I first joined, you were quite active then, my user name was ‘ Butterfly ‘ then I left and later rejoined. I believe you lost your husband, you mentioned it when you were on here last.

My day has been brilliant so far. The Tories are out and Labour are in. After the last 14 years of Conservative governments breaking most things about our country the new Labour government has got a lot to do to mend it and it won't get done any time soon, it will take time so I hope people won't get too critical without giving them a real chance.
