Trump is a mastermind of saying what people want to hear. He still didn't recant his statements that he is good and therefore doesn't ask God for forgiveness, and doesn't bring God into that picture.

Jesus is coming soon. We might not make to the next election anyway. So concentrate on your Christian walk; trust and obey. God chooses our rulers.
Really?
God chose Pol Pott, Lenin,Stalin,Adolf, Genghis, the Muslim Traitor Obama, and the mentally addled Traitor Creepy Uncle Joe?

Obey?
If we'd have done that we'd be posting from Great Britain right now.Because we would have stayed loyal to God's anointed Sovereign and the church.

He didn't need to recant because media edited his remarks and largely ignored when later expounded on what he meant.

Just a few scriptures for you on; it is God who chooses and removes rulers.

Romans 13:1-4 - Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will [a]bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

Psalms 75:56-7 - for exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south.
7 But God is the Judge: He puts down one and exalts another.

Daniel 2:21 - And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.

Daniel 4:17 - This decision is by the decree of the watchers, and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.’

Jeremiah 27:5-6 - ‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me. 6 And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field I have also given him to serve him

Proverbs 21:1 - The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.

Acts 12:21 - So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. 22 And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

Where is the confusion?? He said he doesn't know if he has asked God for forgiveness and he doesn't bring God into that picture. Upon being asked the first time, he goes on and on about his religiosity. He goes to church, he's Presbyterian, etc ...but never speaks of asking God for forgiveness. He never mentions the Gospel that Jesus died for his/Trump's sins ....that he himself has sinned and is in need of the Savior. All you ever hear him do is skate around the actual question, and say a bunch of meaningless crap to tickle people's ears.

I decided to start this discussion thread because I dislike how so many evangelical Christians fervently support Donald Trump. Indeed, their support for the guy is unwavering and often fanatical, a description that is by no means hyperbolic
I being a Black Evangelical Christian have to point out that this is NOT the case within our community.

It seems to me that the main drive here is to try and get the population to stop supporting Trump.

Well then lets hear just who they want the people to support ?

I don't know how anyone could continue to be confused. The video has him explaining and in front of a conservative evangelical audience who applauded his explanation.

See the connection? Why Romans in council deciding the canon would say God commanded that?

Romans.

What I see is Paul saying that to the Romans.

Got questions says this: Any emphasis is mine.

As perplexing as it may sometimes seem, the Bible explicitly states that all positions of human authority, including those of government officials, have been appointed by God. Therefore, Christians must submit themselves to these governing authorities, recognizing their God-ordained purpose: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God” (Romans 13:1).

The apostle Paul is not making a suggestion; he’s issuing a command. In the original language, hypotassesthō (“be subject”) is from a root word meaning “to place or rank under; to submit.” The New Living Translation clearly expresses the present passive imperative verb tense: “Everyone must submit to governing authorities” (Romans 13:1). Paul immediately explains why everyone should be subject to the governing authorities: because “all authority comes from God” (Romans 13:1, NLT).

There is no wiggle room here for Christians. Whether or not we agree with a leader’s policies or politics, we must recognize that God has placed our governing authorities in their positions. Romans 13:1 underscores God’s all-encompassing authority and sovereignty in human affairs. Believers need not fear submitting to governing authorities since it is God who appoints them. Daniel, who served under the evil King Nebuchadnezzar, understood that his God, and not the king, was ultimately in control: “He [God] controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings” (Daniel 2:21, NLT).

The apostle Peter agrees, “For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right. . . . Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king” (1 Peter 2:13–17, NLT)
. As a rule, God establishes government leaders to discipline the disobedient (“punish those who do wrong”) and carry out His righteous will on earth (“honor those who do right”). They are “God’s servants” raised up for the good of the people, to enforce order in the societies they govern, and to prevent chaos and lawlessness (Romans 13:3–4; see also Ezra 7:26; Proverbs 29:4, 14).

Paul urges his disciple Timothy to “pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior” (1 Timothy 2:1–3, NLT). Paul tells Titus to “remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good” (Titus 3:1).

We don’t have to like our leaders, but we do have to treat them with respect out of reverence for their God-appointed position. When Paul wrote his letter to the Romans, he was residing under the rule of Nero, one of the cruelest Roman emperors. If Paul could submit to Nero’s authority, then so ought we recognize and respect our civil leaders.

God is the One who “decides who will rise and who will fall” (Psalm 75:6–7). He rules over the king’s heart “like a stream of water directed by the Lord; he guides it wherever he pleases” (Proverbs 21:1, NLT). “Fear the Lord and the king,” counseled Solomon to the wise. “Don’t associate with rebels, for disaster will hit them suddenly. Who knows what punishment will come from the Lord and the king?” (Proverbs 24:21–22, NLT; see also Ecclesiastes 8:2–5; Matthew 22:15–21).

Christians are called to obey their leaders, pay taxes, abide by the laws, and show respect. When we disrespect and rebel against our leaders, ultimately, we disrespect God, who places these authorities over us (Romans 13:2). The Bible says, if we don’t submit, we will incur God’s judgment.

There is only one exception when believers are not to be subject to the governing authorities—when those leaders try to force Christians to contradict the will of God. In Acts 5:22–33, the apostles are arrested for preaching the gospel in Jerusalem and proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ. As they stand trial, the apostle Peter defends their actions with these words: “We must obey God rather than any human authority” (Acts 5:29, NLT; cf. Acts 4:18–19). The Christian has a duty to disobey human authority if the alternative is dishonoring and disobeying God’s law (Exodus 1:17; Daniel 1:8; 3:28; 6:7–10; Hebrews 11:23). When governing authorities attempt to take the place of God by requiring behavior that conflicts with God’s revealed will, then resistance is justified.

Wrong ! and out of context in fact !

This world is full of deceptions and delusions in fact !

One should read all of Romans to truly get a handle on what is being truly put forward.
Rom 13 is in regards God.

What you are pushing is that if you were under Germany as a citizen, all had no rights at all to question Hitler at all, It was all Gods will ?

Same with Stalin if you were under him as a citizen ! and all who went against Stalin or Hitler were in fact wrong ?
That's what you are peddling ! and all such went to Hell for going against such in fact ! That is what you are claiming ? That's clearly Evil !

If the Leadership is not worthy of God then he is not worthy of God in fact ! but what you claim, is that Hitler and Stalin did the works of God in fact ! So such as you support the murder of 6 million Jews and everyone who was killed by Stalin and also in the whole War as well !
All was the work of God ? you are claiming in fact ?

I say that all such was the workings of this World in fact and nothing at all to do with God at all, but that of stupid works of Man in fact who went against God in fact, for Rom 13:8 says you should not kill etc in fact !

The Holy spirit fulfills one regards God. not this world, that is full of deceptions and delusions in fact.

God destroyed tribes of people, even aborted the unborn or had them cut from their mothers womb.
What would qualify as rebellion against God appointed authority using the rubric of,that what conflicts with God's revealed will?
