If those who Christ is speaking to through Paul there. Choose good and not evil. If their is an exchange of their choosing the living water of Life for their thirst, the bread of heaven to satisfy their hunger, and the new man to put on as clothing…then there will be fellowship with one another. When what prevents and withholds that fellowship between brothers is put off, cast away, removed from their midst.

A counselor once said “somebody has to step off the crazy wheel.” There has to be Light before it can shine in to darkness. Or it is just around and around in darkness.Christ speaking in Paul is that Light towards them.
We see a LOT of flesh being molly-coddled in the modern church based on a false idea of "fellowship". Sure the flesh can get along when it is directed...entertained... catered to. But take away the entertainment..the distractions... the abundance...and you will see the true nature of people come out.
Why didn't Jesus try getting along with the Sanhedrin???

Who begins judging? Was Jesus the first to judge? Or was it the religious Pharisees who were looking for false prophets...and whoever didn't puff up their flesh?

Sadly there are a lot on the board that post they are starved for true fellowship. But they can’t find any.

I don't see where the filed is the world in this parable. Having found the treasure the man HID it..and went and bought the filed that the treasure is found in. This is akin to a man learning about the risen Lord...and surrendering all to God to enter into the realm where the risen Lord abides.
I think the field is the temple of our body/soul......our spirit/heart has been redeemed (inner man), and the pearl (treasure) was placed in our earthen vessel, which became God's temple. We are awaiting the redemption of our body/soul when Christ returns and that is what we're paying the price for in this life. In the meantime that pearl can experience liberty from the flesh in and by the Spirit who can bypass or override our old nature/soul of the flesh. Still struggling to understand more about these things though.

The man with the pearl had gone to pay the price in effect for the pearl that he had already received in himself. That is the foundation that we have already received in ourselves when we received Christ.

“Already received it”
Been thinking a lot these past couple days about 1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you to differ from another ? and what have you that you did not receive? now if you did receive it, why do you glory, as if you had not received it ?

Big question to me is the “if” you have already received it (paraphrasing what it means to me) why then do you glory in the flesh as if you did not receive it? Why upon already receiving it, do you glory in the flesh as if you haven’t received it? For example the Pharisees may say they had received it, but by glorying in flesh …did they act contrary to having yet received it.

Don't be swayed here by a false understanding. The parables are about the COST of having the truth. We are to BUY the truth and sell it not.

Prov. 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Jesus says to buy eye salve. He says that the ones who have no oil should buy it.

There are many corrupted "believers" here. They will resist anything that isn't free and easy...and that doesn't puff up the flesh. Flee from these.

You are not understanding the conditional nature of salvation

There is one condition God requires to save you, (= which is to give you "the GIFT of Salvation" and "the Gift of Righteousness".)

1.) "Faith".

"Faith is counted as righteousness".....>"Justification by faith", without deeds of the law.

Jesus said.." All that BELIEVE IN ME (Faith) I give unto them ETERNAL LIFE, and they shall never go to Hell (perish)"

This is just part of the indoctrination that has no basis in the biblical narrative. There is no free ticket. There is God's mercy...that depends on whether you also have mercy. Read the parable about the man who was forgiven his debts...but who didn't forgive the debt that was owed to him.

You are not understanding the conditional nature of salvation and growth in Christ. But that is very common among the religious mob.
Typical works based Pharisee gospel

If the world is the field to be bought with a great price.
A Hidden treasure hidden in an earthen vessel. Christ speaking to them through Paul, not Paul speaking to himself, was after that hidden treasure in them.

Or that is how I see it. This coming from a man (Saul) that built up his own image persecuting the way…now the very way he now preaches. Counting it all loss that he might win (gain)Christ “formed in them”. Willing to suffer loss to gain Christ.
Roman’s 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

What do you see this passage to mean?

There once was a man walking down a narrow path in the woods. Suddenly in front of him, an old man appeared a little further down the path. His hair was as white as snow, and His continence shown like the sun. The old man walked right up to this man and stopped. He then intently looked the man in the eyes and said slowly, "who are you" Now this irritated the man and he tried to pass by the old man on his right. But just as he did, the old man stepped to his left and prevented the man from doing so. And once again the old man said slowly, "who are you?" By this time the man was starting to get angry. He once again tried to go around the old man, but this time he tried to pass by on the left side, but to no avail, as the old man moved to his right. And finally the old man said much slower, "who are you?" At this the man broke down and started to weep. At this, the old man stepped forward and wiped away the mans tears, and said, "now I see who you are My son."

A train is coming soon at an hour we least expect. In order to board, one must have a ticket. The ticket is free, but indeed it will cost us everything. And the name of the ticket is "have you loved?"
Reminds me of this song

People get ready, there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith, to hear the diesels hummin'
Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

So people get ready, for the train to Jordan
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, open the doors and board 'em
There's hope for all, among those loved the most

There ain't no room for the hopeless sinner
Whom would hurt all mankind, just to save his own, believe me now
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
For there is no hiding place, against the kingdom's throne

So people get ready there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith, to hear the diesels hummin'
Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

What do you see this passage to mean?
By whom we have access to the Father, standing in Grace, we rejoice in the hope of God. To me it means that through Christ we can enter (by the Spirit of God) within in the veil, into His House of God which House you are? You will have need of patience, waiting for His return… Is what it means to me.

What does it mean to you?

Roman’s 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

1st off. It means we have peace through God. Because we have been justified by faith (see romans 4)

If I may, what does peace with God mean to you?

2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

This shows we have access to God. again through faith.. Unlike the law. where only the high priest entered. the veil is torn, it is removed, I can come boldly to the throne of grace.

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

because unlike under law. God is our Abba father, God has not given us a spirit of fear. but of sound mind (hence the peace)

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

he also has given us the spirit of adoption. where we are adopted as sons

Romans 8:15

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

In the Hebrew language, Abba father is a term of endearment, In english it would be the same of calling your Father daddy.

Again, this is peace. imagine being able to Call God daddy, Based on all he did for us..

this is what Justification grants us.. What are your thoughts..
