Ah, But but the free gift of grace, is indeed free, for all that will receive it.
The initial grace...yes. The sample. This turns us away from wickedness...but does not protect us against the iniquity of pride and self-justification. God is waiting to see what we will do with what we have been given

The rich spoiled ones will judge others as they have always done. They will justify themselves by a gift they have been given as a free sample. They will become puffed up in their outer man and build "sepulchres on high." Only the poor, the humble, the contrite...will move on with God...either to be among the righteous, or even the saints.

But the spoiled ones will be cast away. The kingdom of God catches many kinds of fish. Unless we sort ourselves out now...the angels will do the sorting on judgment day. If we have lived from the outer man...as religious as we might be...we will be cast out of the kingdom.

This is just part of the indoctrination that has no basis in the biblical narrative. There is no free ticket. There is God's mercy...that depends on whether you also have mercy. Read the parable about the man who was forgiven his debts...but who didn't forgive the debt that was owed to him.

You are not understanding the conditional nature of salvation and growth in Christ. But that is very common among the religious mob.
You do not understand the gospel . Please explain what it means for all of us here .

More gobblygook those who are born again are in the kingdom and have eternal life in the here and now and for all eternity. It’s called eternal for a reason . Your righteousness is called filthy rags the same as the Pharisees . Trying to be perfected in the flesh .

If doesn’t cost money.
Isaiah 52:3 For thus saith the Lord, You have sold yourselves for nought; and you shall be redeemed without money.

it is a Gift.
In OT is speaks of clouds without water that boast is false gifts.

I'm not seeing a clear explanation to the parable here. Jesus says to "buy the field" in the parable. What is the field we buy??? We buy access into the eternal realm...given "eye salve" so that we have the spiritual faculty to walk in an eternal consciouness. The pearl is Christ who dwells with the father. So we can have fellowship with both the Father and the Son as we abide in the

If the world is the field to be bought with a great price.
A Hidden treasure hidden in an earthen vessel. Christ speaking to them through Paul, not Paul speaking to himself, was after that hidden treasure in them.

Or that is how I see it. This coming from a man (Saul) that built up his own image persecuting the way…now the very way he now preaches. Counting it all loss that he might win (gain)Christ “formed in them”. Willing to suffer loss to gain Christ.

An empty gift is like a cloud without rain. No love, no humility, no surrender, no fear of the Lord...just religious hubris.

The lawless among believers will claim to have done many wonderful things in the name of Jesus. Why not having operated in the gifts?

But God is looking for an eternal fruit...no fancy miracles. That's why the spiritual WALK is far more important than the gifts that are meant to stem from it. The gifts are for others...and are no meant as a means of self-justification. Whether we receive a gift or minister a gift...there is NO grounds to justify oneself.

Without love as Paul says in 1 Cor 13 we are nothing but a noisy gong and clanging symbol even though one claims to have all knowledge and know all mysteries - ie super “ spiritual “ , higher than the rest in their walk.

Crazy to think God has Hidden treasure , the pearl of great price, the Kingdom of God…within the place hardest to enter in …our brother whom we persecuted. The one place we refuse endlessly. Nope that would be forgoing myself for another. Crazy insane for God to hide treasure in the one place we are MOST reluctant to go. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and all of His riches, and His Glory? It is in your brother. And then these things will be added (given)unto you…all pertaining to your brother. Peace, love, charity, Faith, mercy, forgiveness, long-suffering, brotherly kindness.

“He is not ashamed to call you brethren.”

I don't see where the filed is the world in this parable. Having found the treasure the man HID it..and went and bought the filed that the treasure is found in. This is akin to a man learning about the risen Lord...and surrendering all to God to enter into the realm where the risen Lord abides.

Yes. Agreed. having been translated into the kingdom realm to fellowship with God in the light...that now is a platform for ministering the truth in the world that is in darkness.

Again yes... ;) But before Paul could minister Christ...he had to himself pay the price to enter in himself.

No ticket. Only the foolhardy believe that twaddle. No religious scheme comes from God.

My love for all here lies in the fact that I suffer the abuse of many to try helping them to escape the coming judgment of God. No one will point the finger at me on that day and say...you weren't adamant enough in your warnings.

Not only do we all have the biblical testimony that warns us and informs us to God's ways...but also we have His servants that bring the word closer to us to remind us of His will.

We each have a part to play. I would prefer that the part of the hypocrites would not be so readily adopted by so many.

And not in just the MOSt reluctant place to go but to those who hate, reject and despise you. Because that is what He did. Despising the shame but enduring for the joy set before Him. Is that a lie?

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one ;

Which parable are we discussing now? Treasure hidden in a field?

You are seeing the effect of a person having penetrated into the kingdom realm and then being hated for it by the religious mob.

If we receive a prophet in the name of a prophet we get a prophet's reward. If we receive a righteous person in the name of a righteous person we get a righteous person's reward.

We have to be able to discern WHAT is in the brother. That's what's difficult...and far beyond the carnal elements we find in the church.
And then these things will be added (given)unto you…all pertaining to your brother. Peace, love, charity, Faith, mercy, forgiveness, long-suffering, brotherly kindness.

The wheat and the tares... That's a different parable...actually a two-tiered parable based on first the righteous, and then the saints.

It is a honour to be hated and rejected by the religious mob. That's what happened to Jesus and all the prophets. ALL who live godly in Christ will be thus hated and scorned.

I agree with that. But the love is between inner man and inner man. We are not to love the "Esau" in another. We are not to love the hell in one another..we are to love the hell OUT of them.

If we only love those who love us is that love??? A real love is sacrificial in nature. It does what is best even when there is disapproval. As parents we learn to love our children that way.

The inner man is able to love even as he is hated by the outer man of another. Knowing about the inner man allows us to never give up on a potential brother.

I’ve always thought persecution comes so that patience can have its perfect work. To me persecution comes for the sake of the word that God may be increased. Because the parable says many will turn away saying they don’t choose to suffer for his namesake. I don’t see Paul Turning away but instead pressing forward; setting before those persecuting him: living water to drink, the bread of Life to satisfy hunger, and the New Man to put on. He is offering, willing…
We have to be able to discern WHAT is in the brother. That's what's difficult...and far beyond the carnal elements we find in the church.
“I am persuaded better things of you” it surely isn’t by what is being shown or given to him “Paul you reprobate!”

Persuaded by whom? Of better things?

When WE walk in the light as He is in the light...then we have fellowship with one another.
If those who Christ is speaking to through Paul there. Choose good and not evil. If their is an exchange of their choosing the living water of Life for their thirst, the bread of heaven to satisfy their hunger, and the new man to put on as clothing…then there will be fellowship with one another. When what prevents and withholds that fellowship between brothers is put off, cast away, removed from their midst.

A counselor once said “somebody has to step off the crazy wheel.” There has to be Light before it can shine in to darkness. Or it is just around and around in darkness.Christ speaking in Paul is that Light towards them.
