The inner man…is totally “buried” like the talent. In the parable. That helps. Thank you. I’ve never looked at this way.
To me this is good news because of “I will give unto you treasures of darkness, and the hidden riches of secret places”. Which sounds like truly what it means to inherit “the incorruptible” “the inner man” as He went further to say it is the hidden man of the heart which is precious in the Sight of God. I don’t see how that can be danced around and called fallacy, unless the interest lies in the outer darkness of the outer man. Which is not the treasure but instead gods the treasure that is precious in the Sight of God.
That talent “buried” in the parable. To me this is the true meaning of what it means to “raise the dead” unto “Life”. Not the outer religious man but the “hidden” man of the heart which is precious in the Sight of God. To me that doesn’t say ‘darkness’ and ‘hidden’ is the treasure or ‘secret places’ is the riches …but God is after the inner man. To me that is so hopeful. With corruption does not inherit the incorruptible. For example …in the NT where the man comes in and falls on his face and worships God. Isn’t his pouring out praise unto God the treasure and a giving up of things (kept or imprisoned) hidden in darkness; the riches of secret places.
What most believers don't realize is that we are all in
a race of faith. In a race are both winners and losers. Out of the SAME LUMP are vessels of both honour AND dishonour. We see the dishonourable in full bloom here.
Most have been taught to revel in being "saved". So MUCH emphasis is put on
the free sample of initial grace that any mention of the higher standard of holiness that people who are born of the Spirit are called into...and will judged against....is met with every manner of gnashing, and ranting, and ego-boosting. Basically SO many are
enemies of the cross. They want to preserve their sample by burying it, protecting it, attacking all who challenge them to go to God. They want to preserve their "saved" lives rather than becoming a living sacrifice to God.
I am very grieved at the unbelief in the modern church. It is very sad that any mention of holiness in the higher walk is seen as "demonic" or "New Age"...such is the ignorance of anything beyond their own carnal lives. It reflects their own spiritual state. But God is not mocked. Just as the Israelites were rejected because of unbelief...likewise so many who are called "believers" today will likewise be cast away.
Jesus Christ is both the author AND finisher of our faith. To get the full measure of grace we need to seek God's face at the throne of grace...with the boldness of faith in the inner man.
Don't be afraid of the faces of these hardened outer man religious posturers. These love their lives unto death. What a contrast to the saints who love NOT their lives unto death...instead they repent and surrender to have their outer man dealt with
at the cross...in order to bear
an everlasting fruit that is pleasing to God.
Embrace humility, and the fear of the Lord...and have faith in God from the inner man.
Peace
