All things have been put under His feet, but we do not yet "see" all things put under Him. We have faith and do see miracles, but don't see miracles happening every minute of every day. Paul even had to tell Timothy to take wine for his stomach and ailments....why wasn't he healed, even though the early church had "great grace" upon them. And did Peter ever walk on water again? Jesus only did what He saw the Father doing. And we walk by faith, not by sight....many use the fact that there is suffering in the world (not cured by miracles) as an excuse to reject God.
And remember Paul sought the Lord 3 different times to have his thorn in the flesh removed/healed and the Lord said no. God has a purpose and its not always being healed from physical ailments. In fact most of the time we are not healed. Healing is the exception not the rule and some would have you believe its the rule and if you are not healed its because of your sin. But Jesus healed sinners and they( the false teachers) leave out that part because they are cunning and deceitful.

I would not be suprised if by the casting off of self they probably mean casting off religoius dogma .
By they …if I’m included in they …that is not what I was suggesting. Does religious dogma come from lust? I think so. But to me not only religious dogma comes out of lust but more. Which lust I’ve recognized in myself, all I was trying to say is: if it is only regarding Judaism then I can rest easy because of whom the “casting off” was for and the “putting on” of; …has nothing to do with my lust, but only Judaism. It has nothing to do with my family, life, interactions and responses. Wiping the sweat off my brows now…since it doesn’t apply.

Going away for a while ...of my own volition changed nothing on here among the heretical thinking folk.
God is still in charge, his word is still truth, and TODAY is the day of salvation.
What one serves is who their master is!

casting off self is indeed casting off self .
And yet as you clearly see , EPI has cast on SELF and points to mans ability by them SELF, to attain to righteousness
to by self carry their cross , to by self save themselves . EASY to see it is .
And yet we point to CHRIST for RIGHTEOUSNESS , CHRIST . TO CHRIST . HUGE DIFFERENCE .
either we point to CHRIST , or we point to SELF . and EPI knows not what i speak of .

soph·ist·ry

the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving.
"trying to argue that I had benefited in any way from the disaster was pure sophistry"

once again,

can you answer how one is born again. How is condemnation removed for those who are dead in sin?

Then you agree with Epi there IS a higher calling?
There is only one calling and it is a high calling. Scripture doesn't talk about a high-ER calling, only a HIGH calling. High, because it has to do with spirit and things above (heavenly), as opposed to being of the flesh and earthly. As in God's ways are higher than ours.

Since you do not encourage and build up others here I see that the shoe fits. Most of your posts are fallacious and ad hominems.

hope this helps !!!

Just my mumbling about something that reassured me that I was one of the safe. And you are trying to convince me there is not such thing as dead faith still in the grave.
I agree, mumbling a prayer is of no use unless one actually receives Christ. It's apparent that you hadn't received Him at that time, but had only acquiesced to a mental assent. If you had received Him, you would have experienced a revelation and met Him face to face as it were, (spirit to spirit, heart to heart) and there would have been a sea-change in your life...ie, going from darkness to light, from unbelief to living faith. The details may differ individually, but that is essentially the testimony of all who are born again.

If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire (the outer man), and you shall rule over him.

Amen. Though I do believe the church in general should be doing more than it currently is.

However, there are times and seasons in the Lord as well. Ploughing, seed times and harvests. Fallow times, and fertile times. Eg, even those trees by the river in Revelation only put out leaves of healing on a monthly basis.

If you do well, shall you not be accepted?

What you stated... is the "error of Cain"< that JUDE teaches that some who are trying to work their way into heaven and work their way to be accepted by God, are doing wrong.

God will never accept you, based on you. As your works are tainted by Sin.

That God sent Christ to the Cross, is proof that of ourselves, we are not accepted or acceptable.

Works you do, after you are saved, have the same value as works you were doing before you were saved, regarding God's acceptance.

= ZERO.

Reader,
The only reason God accepted you, to save you, is THE CROSS OF CHRIST, and that is the only reason God's acceptance is sustained.

Putting on new man and putting off the old man is not a literal thing, but is only allegorically depicting a principle...it has to do with what one is yielding to and walking in, either walking in the flesh or walking in the spirit....which means walking in the righteousness of Christ, which we can only do because He has given it to us a gift. Yielding our members to righteousness unto holiness and no longer to sin unto iniquity. Mortifying the deeds of the flesh BY THE SPIRIT is another way Paul explained the same thing.

amen, we can do it the moment we are born again and receive the spirit. and we should do it more and more as we grow in christ.

There is only one calling and it is a high calling. Scripture doesn't talk about a high-ER calling, only a HIGH calling. High, because it has to do with spirit and things above (heavenly), as opposed to being of the flesh and earthly. As in God's ways are higher than ours.
What the calling means to me. I’m paraphrasing all of it because I struggle to get a point across. To me it is something that can not be faked. No way around it. It may be long and maybe I am wrong, but to me this is what He keeps saying needs to happen which to me seems like a whole new height of impossible. Entering in “through a veil” into the Holiest place. To me that is what epi keeps saying about entering in through that veil (that outer man); seeking after the inner man (the Holiest of Holy). Maybe I misunderstood epi but he does speak of the inner man.

To me it helps explain better “loss of our own image” for the sake of “gaining His.” As brilliant and sufficient as man thinks he is, especially at manipulating what is said to skirt around any “by a New and Living Way” : there is no skirting around it. I mean Only God can enter in through the outer man going right for the New inner man. That is it. Only God can do the impossible for example when they asked Him “who then can be saved” in regards to the rich man. His response was a clear “with men it is impossible. But all things are possible with God.”

This may come off as crazy. Is it fictional? A sit back and do nothing kind of Faith? that is not what I’m hearing at all but a call to “a New and Living Way”
“I have given them a Land” even “entered in before them”… “enter in”

to me it says something so hopeful if we would consider it. But then again, we probably won’t because it will require “loss of our own image” to “gain His likeness”. If it contradicts in any way our tightly gripped beliefs, we are not willing to let go of them. I can’t say it enough…that to me…there is no way around it where even He said: the entering in to the Kingdom of God is through much suffering.
