It is clearly obvious that persons on this thread no NOTHING about the rules of hermeneutics and what they may know, they ignore because it does not fit their narrative. So, I recommend a free, online textbook on Interpretation -
I'm not sure how much good this will do for some in this threat, because one of the first requirements given for the interpreter is found on page 13 -
"It is not hoped that any number of axioms and rules of interpretation will compensate the unfortunate interpreter
who is lacking in good judgment and sound common sense. Laws of all sciences presuppose ability in him who would use them."
This thread shows one of two reasons why I avoid the modern evangelical translations like the ESV, NASB, NKJV, etc. who have abandoned the solid translations of the KJV, RV, ASV, YLT on 1 Cor. 6:9 and 1 Tim. 1:10, and retranslated with modern terms of psychology that do not fit the Greek! There has been no change in the Greek text to support this shift in meaning.
I've said all I wish to say on this topic, so this reply will be my last. I did not start this OP, but maybe that other reason I avoid the modern evangelical translations I'll use to start a new Thread.
