@Lizbeth said.

Aren't we supposed to be like Him

RJ says, yes we are, but , in his strength and in his timing.

Not by our own strength or by our own timing.

Correct…
What men DO…by their OWN strength (power) and Timing…

IS: respond to Gods “calling”.
IS: respond to Gods “offerings”.

Whatever a man “responds” TO:
Gods Calling, Offerings….it is a DEBT unto God.
God “PAYS” His “Debts”….
With….Knowledge
With….Understanding
With….Forgiveness
With….Blessings
With….Gifts

With….Rewards

God bless you.

Is all Scripture is God-breathed because it says so? (That would be circular reasoning, don't you think?)
Why? ALL
Is all Scripture is God-breathed because it says so? (That would be circular reasoning, don't you think?)
Absolutely!
Scripture

Root: Scriptura (Latin) or γραφὴ (graphē in Greek)
Meaning: Refers to sacred writings or texts; in a Christian context, it denotes the Bible as the authoritative collection of God's revelation.
is

Part of Speech: Verb (third person singular)
Function: Serves as a linking verb connecting the subject (Scripture) to the predicate (God-breathed), indicating existence or identity.
God-breathed

Morphological Components:
God: The proper noun referring to the divine being, the Creator.
Breathed: The past participle of the verb "breathe," indicating the action of imparting life or spirit.
Combined Meaning: This compound term emphasizes that Scripture is divinely inspired, originating from God's will and essence. The concept suggests that the words of Scripture are not merely human but infused with God's Spirit.
Syntactical Breakdown
Subject: Scripture

The main focus of the sentence, highlighting the sacred texts.
Verb: is

Connects the subject to its attribute, establishing a statement of identity or condition.
Predicate: God-breathed

Describes the nature of the subject, emphasizing that Scripture is not just any writing but is infused with divine authority and inspiration.

The phrase "Scripture is God-breathed" conveys several significant theological points:

Divine Origin: The assertion that Scripture is inspired by God means that its authority comes from the Creator Himself, making it a reliable source for doctrine and guidance.

Inspiration of the Holy Spirit: This concept reflects the work of the Holy Spirit in guiding the authors of Scripture, ensuring that what they wrote was in accordance with God's will.

Authority and Truth: The understanding that Scripture is God-breathed supports its inerrancy and infallibility in conveying truth, as it is ultimately rooted in the character of God, who cannot lie (Titus 1:2).

In summary, "Scripture is God-breathed" encapsulates the divine inspiration and authority of the Bible, affirming that it is a living document shaped by God's will, intended for the instruction and edification of believers. The morphological and syntactical breakdown of this phrase helps to underscore its significance in the Christian faith.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture (+) is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness,
2Ti 3:17 in order that the person of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

All Scripture [Every Scripture] ... -- Many scholars like Lenski say there is no difference in these renderings by various translations. Most translations follow "All Scripture."

All Scripture -- would include the N.T. sacred writings as well as the Old Testament. As Paul has already referred to the OT in vs. 15, he now deliberately includes the Sacred Writings of the New Covenant as well.

Inspired of God -- Paul uses the Greek term theopneustos here which is a combination of two other Greek words: theos (“God”) and pneo (“breathe”) meaning “God-breathed". "God-breathed, means breathed into by God, inspired. The rabbinical teaching was that the Spirit of God rested on and in the prophets and spoke through them so that their words did not come from themselves, but from the mouth of God and they spoke and wrote in the Holy Spirit. The early church was in entire agreement with this view." (Rienecker, LKGNT)

INSPIRATION - 2Ti_3:16, 2Pe_1:21, 1Co_14:37, 1Th_2:13, Gal_1:11-12, Mat_17:5, Luk_1:68-70,

Profitable -- Scripture is valuable because it corrects false teaching while building up believers to live godly lives.

Doctrine -- Teaching; We must teach scripture.

Reproof -- Rebuke- for the purpose of “refutation” of a false statement or argument. PPC

"Only the Christian morality is the true ethic governing human behavior. The pre-Christian Gentiles forsook God, and the result was the near-universal debauchery of the human race. There can be no doubt that forsaking the NT ethics on such things as adultery, homosexuality, drunkenness, etc., if persisted in, will have the same final result." Coffman.

Correction -- Setting a person on a straight course.

Instruction -- Training, instructing believers in God's ways.

Doctrine = tells us what is right.
Reproof = tells us what is not right
Correction = tell how to get right
Instruction = tells how to stay right.

Is all Scripture is God-breathed because it says so? (That would be circular reasoning, don't you think?)

And in 325 A.D., a bunch of Catholic bishops convened in Nicaea and voted on what is and isn't God-breathed Scripture.

For all the Catholic-bashing that goes on here on this site, ya sure gotta hope the Catholics got that one right.

@St. SteVen .

I believe he looks at our heart Brother, and I know mine has been far from his at times,

It used to be all about me....of course I was oblivious to this, this was, until he revealed it to me....only he can wake us up,/ open our eyes and ears, Brother,,we are nothing without him and can do nothing without him....in his strength I say, ...

Just my thoughts.

TRANSFORMATION?

By his power that is within us, and only by his power can we be transformed into the image of Jesus!.

Again just my thoughts.

Like I’ve explained many times, the Spirit speaks to us all differently, ways that we understand...only he can bring us to understanding his word....many disagree with me..no problem, I stand on what I believe God is witnessing to my spirit.
Agree.
That's a key point that few understand. Thanks.

God may be telling me something different than someone else.

Many passed the Potters house when Jeremiah went there. (Jeremiah18)
But the message was direct from God to Jeremiah.

We are not all in the same place on our journey.

Romans 14:4 NIV
Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall.
And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

I have been asking this question lately. If they answer "Both.", that is very telling.

Does God evaluate us on KNOWLEDGE, or on TRANSFORMATION?

[
Both.
Romans 10:17 (Lexham Bible)
"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

This verse explicitly states that faith, essential for salvation, comes through hearing the Word of God.
Romans 10:14 (Lexham Bible)
"But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?"

This verse emphasizes the necessity of hearing the message of Christ to believe in Him.
John 5:24 (Lexham Bible)
"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."

Jesus highlights that hearing His word is linked directly to the promise of eternal life.
James 1:21 (Lexham Bible)
"Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls."

This passage indicates that receiving the Word of God leads to salvation.
Acts 2:37 (Lexham Bible)
"Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do?'"

After hearing Peter's sermon, the listeners were convicted and sought salvation, demonstrating the power of hearing the Gospel.
Acts 16:14 (Lexham Bible)
"One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul."

Lydia's conversion occurred through hearing Paul's message, showing the importance of hearing in the process of salvation.
1 Corinthians 1:21 (Lexham Bible)
"For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe."

This verse affirms that the preaching of the Gospel, which is heard, is the means by which God saves believers.
Mark 4:24 (Lexham Bible)
"And he said to them, 'Pay attention to what you hear. With the measure you use it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.'"

This verse encourages careful listening, showing the importance of hearing in understanding and receiving God's Word.

These passages collectively illustrate that hearing the Word of God is crucial for salvation, as it produces faith, conviction, and ultimately leads to eternal life. The process of hearing and responding to the message of the Gospel is foundational to the Christian faith, highlighting the essential role of preaching and teaching in the life of believers.

Agree @St. SteVen?

No matter how you might try to argue otherwise, the Scriptures remain-God's D'varim spoken to us.

That's a misquote. You seem to be losing on the KNOWLEDGE front.

You changed "the word of Christ." (rhema) to "the Word of God." (the Bible) ???

No misquotes here-your desperation is evident, and I plan to keep it that way.

You like to play fast and loose with the term "the Word of God". ???
Is God incapable of saving anyone without using a Bible to do it?

Another thing has just come to mind, has anyone here been anointed to teach the word of God?

Am I right in saying one must receive the anointing from God to teach?

Woman aren’t also not supposed to teach according to the Bible are they?

I certainly haven’t been anointed to teach, mind you at one time my pride and ego would have disagreed, LOL.

Are we all just posting our opinions and our own beliefs on what the word of God to be saying?

The word of God....is Alive and Active , which in my opinion/ belief, the word of God is the Spirit, whose Alive and Active everywhere, hovering over us , waiting to bring another un- believer into His Kingdom.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
