Where do you draw the line?
Should I give up my pumpkin spice coffee?
Pumpkins are used to make Jack-O-Lanterns.

I think you know the answer and you're making up ridiculous examples as an excuse.

Why would the beliefs of a Satanist override the beliefs of the parents?Satanists believe by dressing up you mark your children as belonging to satan.
The question still stands. Where do you draw the line?I think you know the answer and you're making up ridiculous examples as an excuse.
I'm being intellectually dishonest? That would not be the same as particpating in the same celebration that has the same name not just the same date. You are being intellectually dishonest.
Why would the beliefs of a Satanist override the beliefs of the parents?
Or the authority of the parents, for that matter.
I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to understand.

I had a similar discussion with Sabbatarians.
They claim that if I worship on the sungod day, that I am worshiping the sungod.
Do you agree with them? They call Sunday the sungod day. Pagan, pagan...
What are you saying?
If I take my children trick-or-treating, that I am aligning myself with Satanists.
What's the difference?

Because the parents are knowingly engaging in something that is dark. And to deny that is a lie. They know it's dark and they are drawn to the darkness, and bring their children into it. That gives satan permissions of all sorts into those children's lives. Why would the beliefs of a Satanist override the beliefs of the parents?
Or the authority of the parents, for that matter.

you might want to look up what you are talking about. Muming and guising were traditions where young adults would dress as spirits of their family members and go door to door collecting food for the communal feast. Harvest celebration means lots of food and at the start of winter was a time of remembering loved ones who had passedIt was pagan and evil all about dressing up as evil spirits and leaving treats for them.
Samhain was the name of the month not a deity, It translates as reunion and assembly. And the druids were even worse making sacrifices to samhain. But ya, why don't you just omit those facts and call it just a harvest party. That's dishonest.
Get over it already. You're being imature by forcing a question of a pumpkin spice latte.

Look, I think @teamventure is correct on this one. That's a good question.
The authority we have in the blood of Christ is greater so a child belongs to God and participating doesn't change ownership for Christians, however it gives satan a place in the childrens lives.
(An aside You were able to get back the 1790s church? I bet it is beautiful)Look, I think @teamventure is correct on this one.
How much easier will it be for a Satanist to control children now that they are being taken out of the hands of their parents when the teachers are given control over the childrens
sexual orientations, and the parents are not allowed to know... or a teacher will cover for an abortion so the parents don't know either.
I had always heard that you do not want to have anything within your home or view anything that would be occultish because you just might unaware give an invite.
Speaking only for myself, and my own experiences with things that go bump in the night
(NO I don't expect you to believe me) I error on the side of caution.
But then , can there really be anything to any kind of a tie in with anything Satanic and Halloween? After all, it was my old church who set up a haunted house in the original church which dates back to the 1790s (a new one was built)... and kids from all the surrounding churches participated.
Of course, that church split and in the split ( going woke) they could not ever get enough members
to to keep either of the church buildings.... So, we who left, after years of being blocked were able to buy it back.
Coincidence? Who knows?
But they were the ones who lost.
Unfortunately when they built the new church the old one was used for administrative stuff and(An aside You were able to get back the 1790s church? I bet it is beautiful)
Wow!! I don't believe they can even call themselves Christian anymore. They're more of a cult. So sad....!(Especially in light of the summer in the 1990 when they were re-imagining God and studying the Goddess Sophia)
Control? Do you think there is a toggle switch or something?Look, I think @teamventure is correct on this one.

Part of Florida's don't say gay law was the provision that educators and counselors has no choice but to out any LGBT child to their parent. Even if there is every reason to believe that such outing would endanger the child. About a third of LGBT kids are physically abused by their parents after their parents find out and that number skyrockets in homes of religious fundamentalists to 80%.and the parents are not allowed to know...
Well, my memory was off a couple of years.... check out these links.Wow!! I don't believe they can even call themselves Christian anymore. They're more of a cult. So sad....!
Yes, I hear you. This is horribly evil. There is so much more, but too many characters and anyway it sickens me and I can post no more.
I am so happy you have not experienced anything like brainwashing. Maybe Patty Hearst can enlighten you... if you are old enough to remember.... If not, do an in depth google.Control? Do you think there is a toggle switch or something?
Sexual orientations aren't controlled any more than skin color or right/left handedness
