My liver was failing from it. They recently came out with miracle meds for it. Now my liver is functioning normally. God has blessed me thru mans achievements.Wow! You're a walking miracle then
The gentiles were considered unclean and defiled and shut out of the covenant for eating unclean foods, already answered in my posts, and it is because God cleansed all animals, that gentiles are no longer unclean. You use this scripture to justify your violation when the context of this is not about foods....it is about people. This vision of Peter's was in direct connection to
the messengers sent from Cornelius the Centurian.......but no, you choose to deliberately take it out of its context to satisfy your carnal desires....as you do other scriptures!
regrettably Curtis, your answer here indicates your understanding of the Gospel is massively lacking! The gentiles were considered unclean and defiled and shut out of the covenant for eating unclean foods, already answered in my posts, and it is because God cleansed all animals, that gentiles are no longer unclean.
God said He cleansed them and to stop calling them unclean. You either believe and obey the unequivocal statement, or cling to the ended law of Moses.
@Ziggy There is also Peter's vision in Acts about some foods that were formerly unclean, no longer to be considered so. An underlying idea also is that Jewish believers in the Lord Jesus should not fear being associated with Gentile believers in the Lord Jesus.I wonder why Jesus chose a herd of swine for the unclean spirits to go into, drive them mad, and then cast themselves into a lake to drown.
Isa 66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
I'm not opposed to pork. I like bacon as much as the next guy. And we know whatsoever God has made is good and acceptable with thanksgiving.
So why the stigma about swine?
Pigs wallow in their own poop. They are very fatty.
I believe it has more to do with the characteristics of the pig, more so than the animal itself.
What is the reason for the cleft hoof and the chewing of the cud?
Sheep roam free and graze like cows. Pigs are kept in pens.
We know that the law is spiritual and whatever is written in it is for our learning spiritual truths.
So what spiritual understanding do we receive when considering swine and not to eat of it?
Beware the leaven of the Pharisees.. we know that that refers to their teachings and doctrines.
But what does swines flesh refer too?
Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
We read that dogs in some instances refer to gentiles or mixed races like the samaritan woman who said that even the dogs get crumbs from the table.
What does it mean to cast your pearls before swine?
Again in the parable of the prodigal son:
Luk 15:15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
Luk 15:16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
Who are they that sanctify themselves and purify themselves?
Lots of clues, yet still a mystery?
just thinking..
Hugs
I noticed those verses got covered quite a bit in the previous posts. I just thought I'd bring a different dish to share at the table.@Ziggy There is also Peter's vision in Acts about some foods that were formerly unclean, no longer to be considered so. Hi, I hope I am posting in the right forum. Sorry if I'm mistaken.
The Old Testament says we should not eat pork (Leviticus 11:7) so how come we eat some?

Rom. 14 is about vegetarians judging meat eaters and vice versa. It has absolutely nothing to do with Paul supposedly relaxing the dietary law when he told plenty of people in the Acts narrative that he still believed in the authority of the Law. If he believed in the authority of the Law, then he obviously didn't tell people that eating unclean was a matter of opinion when God was crystal clear on the fact that eating unclean meat is just a much an abomination as practicing homosexuality or witchcraft. A logical person has to wonder why people think eating unclean meat suddenly became ok after Christ's death when they wouldn't make the same argument for homosexuality or witchcraft..
According to the fourteenth chapter of Romans; the Christian diet is allowed
to be a matter of opinion; while strictly prohibited for debate.
