If believing is so much more trustworthy when it comes to determining the truth of God, why shouldn't that type of believing be used to determine the truth in the court of law?

Just for the sake of argument:

You have been wrongly accused of a crime that you did not commit (I am 100% sure this does happen) Do you think you can prove to everyone involved that you are innocent, just by telling them to believe you are innocent.

I think not.

Man can not search the heart, only observe actions. God who, knows what is in our hearts, is able to determine if someone truly believes.

But there are also external observable indications of what is in the heart. As it is written, 'out of the heart the mouth speaks.'. One can not truly be a follower of Christ if they do not follow his example of loving God and neighbor that was set by Jesus.

So if you see someone who claims to be a believer, and they are acting in a way that does not prove they are loving they may be a liar.

Not that everything that appears to be cruel is unloving. Consider medieval dentists and barbers, who would pull rotten teeth and cut off gangrenous limbs. If you look only at the pain they inflicted you might consider them hateful. However they do what is necessary for the health of the patent.

Because a lie, truth needs a million possibilities to try to believe again.
truth needs a million possibilities to....ooh.....I get it. I think I do. Once you know something for real you can't believe it any other way. Yes it must mean that. It better.

The question of a court, once guilt has been determined, is who pays for the punishment?

If Jesus isn't paying for the punishment in your life, you are in serious trouble!
