Thanks, I have always had the opportunity to look them up if I desired to, I just never did, I love the simplicity of the first one, "we gave no such commandment" so if anything inched in as a commandment it would just appear to me as something "added to".

From my X / Twitter “For you” feed this afternoon:

”7 Ecumenical Councils (+ the heresies they fought)”

That’s helpful. I would point out to readers that Jewish monotheism isn’t on the list. That’s significant.

Remember also that in trinitarian theology, Jesus of Nazareth is only one person -> a divine person, not a human person.

You can see how both sides had their doctrinal challenges to address. Yet, we know that the original Gospel preached was a singular truth, understood by those who accepted it.

I believe this point is crucial. The matters concerning the Kingdom of God (Jewish) and the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ are essential knowledge for entering the Kingdom of God.

An informative article in the Catholic Register:

”For, Jesus is not a human person; he is a Divine Person who has taken himself a human nature. … the fact that the individual Person of Jesus is a Divine and not a human person.

That’s not just a suggestion. That’s a fact of trinitarian (Catholic and Protestant) theology.

From my X / Twitter “For you” feed:

”In 2025 we celebrate 1700th anniversary since the inception of our Creed at the First Council of Nicaea.”

This is slightly misleading. It’s absolutely true that this year will mark the 1700th anniversary since the inception of the Nicene Creed in AD 325. However, the creed that accompanied the post is not the creed that was produced at that Council meeting. The creed pictured is actually the amended creed that was produced in AD 381 to correct the deficiency (concerning the Holy Spirit) of the original Nicene Creed.
