Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

wow, another miss! If cornelius feared God, he had been regenerated. You dont understand a single thing about salvation. Cornelius was saved even before the vision from God. But ONLY regenerated people fear the Lord. This is proof of calvinism, specifically irresistible grace. If God wants you saved, you WILL be saved. Cornelius was chosen before the universe was even created. Thanks be to God for using john calvin to increase our understanding of salvation.

Lifelong sinner Once Again Teaches Cornelius was saved Before He Obeyed The Gospel Of Jesus Christ.

What this proves about Lifelong sinner is he does not believe You must believe in Jesus Christ to be saved.

Anyone according to Lifelong sinner can be saved without becoming a christian.
Hindus according to Lifelong sinner can be saved in the hindu religion
Catholics can be saved in the Catholic religion without obeying the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Mormons can be saved as Mormons without obeying the gospel of Christ.
Jehovahs Witness can be saved if the do not obey the gospel of Christ.
Satanists can be saved without believing and obeying Jesus Christ's gospel.
On and on. The gospel of Jesus Christ,
Believing in the death, burial and ressurection, 1Corinthians 15:1-4 Is Irrelevant to Lifelong sinners calvinist theology.

Lifelong sinner believes in John Calvin. He does not believe in the gospel being the power that saved Cornelius and his household. He contradicts the Bible when he teaches Cornelius was saved without knowing about Jesus and his gospel.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, FOR IT, IT, IT, IS THE POWER OF GOD TO SALVATION.

Not according to Lifelong sinner! For he denies the power of Jesus' gospel! He teaches Cornelius was saved WITHOUT the Gospel and before the gospel. Before he even knew who Jesus was!

Lifelong sinner denies you must believe in the gospel to be saved,
1Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover brethren, I declare to you THE GOSPEL WHICH I PREACHED TO YOU, Which also you recieved and in which you stand, by which also you are saved,
(Not according to lifelong sinner)
He teaches Cornelius was not saved by the gospel of Christ but before he ever heard the gospel.
I suggest to believe Paul not Lifelong sinner's teacher, John Calvin.

Acts 10:12 -14 Cornelius had to have Peter teach him the gospel in order to be saved.

Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered the man's(Cornelius) house.
13 And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, Send men to Joppa and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,
Who will tell you words(Jesus' gospel) by which you and all your household will, will, will, be saved.
Lifelong sinner can claim all he wants that Cornelius was saved before Peter came to him.
But there is just one problem with his teaching.
It is just not true!
The Bible teaches Cornelius was saved when Peter came to him and preached the words of Jesus Christ to him. Then and only then was he saved by what? The power of Jesus' saving gospel. Truth

You just preach the exact same thing to all sinner mankind as Peter did per Acts 2:38 and let God do the arranging.

That's a God thing.
Doing that doesn't require the inspection of fruit - yet Jesus told us to inspect fruit. What say you on this?

Why is Life long sinner contradicting the Bible if he is teaching the truth?

Cornelius was saved even before the vision from God

Let Cornelius tell us if he was saved before his vision as Life long sinner teaches.

Acts 11:13-14
And he(Cornelius) told us how he had SEEN AN ANGEL STANDING IN HIS HOUSE, WHO SAID TO HIM, Send men to Joppa and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,
Who will tell you words by which you and all your household WILL BE
SAVED.

Peter tells us Cornelius was saved AFTER his vision from God!
Life long sinner tells us Cornelius was saved BEFORE his vision from God!

Life long sinner has tried to ruin my reputation on here. Calling me a fraud and a liar.
Now, whoever reads this, I ask you? Who is really teaching the whole council of God?
And who is really teaching error, making falsehoods against others. And claiming understanding of Gods word by Holy Spirit guidance?

My conscience is clean.

I thought Lifelong sinner believed he understood the scriptures based on being regenerated.
I have learned, Lifelong sinner, that you believe you are lost.
I stand corrected in my comment here,
And claiming understanding of Gods word by Holy Spirit guidance?
I apologize Lifelong sinner for my honest mistake. I will not ever intentionally misrepresent another person.
I hope you know how much I love you and hope and pray that you will come to the knowledge of the truth.
May God forgive me.

So the identity, Name of His church is inconsequential?
Can I be IN the church of Joseph Mormon Smith if they teach the true gospel of Christ?
Yes.

The name is not the qualifier.

The qualifiers are having the identical doctrines and experience as the church found in Acts 2.

This means one must obey Acts 2:38 to the letter and have all of the goods found in the rest of Acts.

If one does not obey Acts 2:38, they are not yet qualified for remission of sins.

What made Acts 2:38 so hated and controversial?
Imagine the jews that were saved by hearing the gospel of salvation preached by the Holy Spirit Inspired apostle Peter that day.
Would what Peter taught be hated by those jews who were saved and converted to Christ that day when they obeyed the words of the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Yet so many today hate the words of Peter's preaching.
Contradicting Peter, telling themselves and others, that Peter's Holy Spirit Inspired gospel is not necessary to be saved.

This is the answer to all the disagreement about Acts 2:38.

Simply abandon any teaching that goes against the apostles doctrine,
Acts 2:42
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers.

It's that simple!
Once you reject any teaching that goes against how Paul, Peter and the rest of the apostles taught the gospel unto salvation.
The controversy over scriptures like Acts 2:38 will cease.

All the apostles, taught the same gospel.
All the apostles taught belief, repentance, confession, baptism to be saved.

Peter taught repentance and baptism for the forgiveness of sins, Acts 2:38

Paul taught the same. Paul agrees with Peter's sermon because they were both lead by the same Spirit.

Paul taught forgiveness of sins through obeying the command in Acts 2:38 when he also was told to be baptized by Ananias in Acts 9:18.

Paul tells us his sins were washed away in his water baptism,
Acts 22:16
And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

The apostles were all saved in baptism just as men are today under Jesus' new covenant/gospel.

Before the apostles received Holy Spirit baptism. They were saved by water baptism.

All the apostles except Paul were saved before they were Holy Spirit baptized in Acts chapter 2.

Here is where the apostles were saved,
Mark 1:4
John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS.
Sounds real familiar. Peter taught the baptism in the name of the Lord was also for the remission of sins in Acts 2:38.

Now the apostles who are not yet apostles will be saved by immersion.
Mark 1:5
Then ALL the land of Judea and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were ALL baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

The apostles had their sins washed away in water baptism just as Paul had his sins washed away in the water baptism in the name of the Lord, Acts 22:16.

I was recently taught by a member on here that truth runs in parallel lines.
That member is correct!

It is easy to know how to be saved when we ignore men and simply believe and obey what Jesus and His apostles taught.

Romans 10 was written not to debunk Acts 2:38 but to rightly divide the word of truth in Acts 2:38 that it is by believing in Him thereby repenting from unbelief, is how the Jews that had crucified the Lord Jesus Christ got that remission for sins.
Then why do you disobey Acts 2:38?

Why do you oppose Peter's command to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins?

Do you actually think God will let you pull that off on judgement day?

I would not take that chance ever in my life.

You got guts.

That is bad grammar and difficult to understand what you mean. I'll give it a shot.
His blood sacrifice transcended from the physical realm into the spiritual, hence it goes beyond the constraints of time and atones for the sins of the world for all time.
Ronald, if you confess Jesus with your brain/mouth, is that a physical work?

I just trip on my own walk with God, and when I am doing good, I tell folks follow me as I follow Christ.

That is the best process to rearrange someones fruit basket.

Fact is, if I am a cusser then I can't inspect a liar etc.

Hello again

Do you believe Christ is ok with His Bride calling Him(bridegroom) Joseph Mormon Smith?

Would you be alright with your wife who wears your name, telling others she is married to another?

We are saved by a Name. No other!

Acts 4:12
Nor is there salvation IN any other, for there is no other NAME under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

I understand the Name of Jesus' bride must wear His name and His name only.
If not why not?

Are we bringing glory and honor to Christ if His bride will not wear His name?
Paul did not have issue with the church, wearing the name of Christ, Romans 16:16.
What could be wrong with referring to the church for who it belongs to?
Greet one another with a Holy kiss, the churches of Christ salute you.

That's really good. Many are not led by the Holy Spirit.
There are two reasons why we have thousands of denominations today, doctrines of man and doctrines of devils.
There is a buffet table out there which all lead straight to hell. Note the following verse, she is a Mother and therefore has daughters...

Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

It does not matter if a silly name is posted on a church door, as long as the name of Jesus is posted over us in our baptism.

God does not honor the building at all.

The building is not the house of God.

The saints are.

If we have to rent a Mormon building, God cannot be offended...even by statues of Moroni in there.

Same with renting the RCC building.

Then you concede that "confessing Jesus" is a work, right?
No, confessing is not a work, it is an admission of guilt, of sins. We are saved by grace through faith, a gift, not by works.
Don't you know what work is? You worked all your life didn't you? You earned a living from the work you did.
Well ETERNAL LIFE is not earned or merited by works.
More specifically pertaining to salvation, trying to keep the LAW would be considered works. Nobody could keep it perfectly except Jesus. He fulfilled it for us.
Belief is not a work. If you are guilty of a crime and go into a courtroom to confess, that is not a work. No, you got arrested for the work (crime) you did. Sin is a work of evil. An act of goodness is also a work too - which is expected of us. But all your acts of goodness cannot earn you salvation. If they could, Jesus would not have had to die for our sins.
It is the belief that Jesus died for our sins and rose on the third day that is the gospel message, the good news, which means we don't have to die for the wages of sin.
If what I have posted is not convincing to you, I'm sorry, there is nothing more I can say.

Good point. Let's say you live in some place called Havenwood, and you call your church Havenwood Community Church - it's not the name that matters but the doctrine. If you teach Acts 2:38 for salvation and that body of believers has fruit of the spirit and gifts of the spirit in operation, then that church is doing well.

Water Baptism, a study by John MacArthur.
[Water baptism does not seem to be what Peter has in view in 1 Peter 3:21. The English word "baptism" is simply a transliteration of the Greek word baptizo, which means "to immerse." Baptizo does not always refer to water baptism in the New Testament (cf. Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; 7:4; 10:38-39; Luke 3:16; 11:38; 12:50; John 1:33; Acts 1:5; 11:16; 1 Corinthians 10:2; 12:13).

So Peter is not talking about immersion in water, as the phrase "not the removal of dirt from the flesh" indicates. He is referring to immersion in Christ's death and resurrection through "an appeal to God for a good conscience," or repentance. Again, it is not the outward act that saves, but the internal reality of the Spirit's regenerating work (cf. Titus 3:4-8).
________________

Is Baptism Necessary for Salvation?

No. Let's examine what the Scriptures teach on this issue:

First, it is quite clear from such passages as Acts 15 and Romans 4 that no external act is necessary for salvation. Salvation is by divine grace through faith alone (Romans 3:22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30; 4:5; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 3:9, etc.).

If water baptism were necessary for salvation, we would expect to find it stressed whenever the gospel is presented in Scripture. That is not the case, however. Peter mentioned baptism in his sermon on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:38). However, in his sermon from Solomon's portico in the Temple (Acts 3:12-26), Peter makes no reference to baptism, but links forgiveness of sin to repentance (3:19). If baptism is necessary for the forgiveness of sin, why didn't Peter say so in Acts 3?

Paul never made water baptism any part of his gospel presentations. In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Paul gives a concise summary of the gospel message he preached. There is no mention of baptism. In 1 Corinthians 1:17, Paul states that "Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel," thus clearly differentiating the gospel from baptism.

Those passages are difficult to understand if water baptism is necessary for salvation. If baptism were part of the gospel itself, necessary for salvation, what good would it have done Paul to preach the gospel, but not baptize? No one would have been saved. Paul clearly understood water baptism to be separate from the gospel, and hence in no way efficacious for salvation.

Perhaps the most convincing refutation of the view that baptism is necessary for salvation are those who were saved apart from baptism. The penitent woman (Luke 7:37-50), the paralytic man (Matthew 9:2), the publican (Luke 18:13-14), and the thief on the cross (Luke 23:39-43) all experienced forgiveness of sins apart from baptism. For that matter, we have no record of the apostles' being baptized, yet Jesus pronounced them clean of their sins (John 15:3--note that the Word of God, not baptism, is what cleansed them).]

Why is Life long sinner contradicting the Bible if he is teaching the truth?

Yes, will be saved, but this is also absolutely going to happen as a done deal.
Prior to them believing and confessing Christ as Lord, people are born again of the Spirit of God as the first step, otherwise they will not be believing in their heart due to the enmity that is within them as they are carnally minded. Only after being born again are they spiritually minded, read Romans 8.

Paul also says this about the unbelieving, that they have no hope and are without God in the world, Ephesians 2, so a carnal mind full of enmity against God and Christ will not believe, for by Grace are you saved.

That blindness of their hearts is because their wills are bound to the devil, and their desire is to follow the devil and the lusts of the flesh. That ENMITY is only overcome by God creating in them the new man of the Spirit, the old man of the flesh is never going to believe what Christ says or who He is, as they do NOT have the love of God in them.

Ephesians 4
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,
18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;
19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But you have not so learned Christ,
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
