In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

It is the gospel of our salvation, not the baptism of our salvation.

The believer receives the Spirit and is sealed thereby upon the hearing of faith.

Them hearing the gospel of their salvation, that gladly received it and repented, received also the remission of their sins and the promised gift of the Holy Ghost, and so were sealed until the redemption of the purchased possession.

No man unforgiven of sins receives the Spirit and is sanctified and sealed to God.

The gospel leads us to Acts 2:38(baptism for the remission of our sins), not bypasses it.

C'mon man!

God is very specific.

God is not a "whatever" God.
No, he does not demand specific correctness of church ceremonies and liturgy. That's not what he's looking for.

"17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18For whoever serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men." Romans 14:17-18

Baptism in Jesus name is exactly what He is looking for.

He wants to remit our sins by His name via water baptism.

Obey Peter, not modernists.

Peter was telling the 3000 to save themselves by being baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins.
No, he was telling those who had been saved already to respond accordingly. And those 3000 responded positively because they had been appointed to eternal life ~ in the same manner as those described in :

"And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed."
[Acts 13:48]

No one saves themselves in any shape, form, or fashion:

"The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD..."
[Psalm 37:39]

"...it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls."
[Joel 2:32]

"For those whom He foreloved He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined He also called, and those whom He called He also justified, and those whom He justified He also glorified."
[Romans 8:29-30]

"We love because he first loved us."
[1 John 4:19]

"... when Rebekah had conceived (Jacob and Esau) by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad ~ in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of Him who calls ~ she was told, 'The older will serve the younger' ... Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For He says to Moses, 'I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.' So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, 'For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show My power in you, and that My Name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then He has mercy on whomever He wills, and He hardens whomever He wills."
[Romans 9:10-18]

"God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ ~ by grace you have been saved ~ and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
[Ephesians 2:4-10]

The promise of the Holy Ghost was not for the remission of their sins, but to seal them.
Agree. But the Holy Spirit's work in the redeemed sinner is both a one-time thing and ongoing.

Grace and peace to you.

God seals our hearts with the circumcision of Christ so soon as He sees the faith in our hearts, and so soon as He hears our confession, He reigns over us as Christ and Lord.
Well, I agree, as long as you're understanding is as mine that faith is itself a gift of God (rather than something we somehow conjure up in ourselves and then somehow merit our salvation). The Romans 9 and Ephesians 2 quotes cited above in my immediately preceding post above are crystal clear in enunciating this. I would also point out what Paul says in Philippians 2, affirming that our confession, which we certainly make freely and of our own will and accord, is a result of God's saving work and working of faith in us by the Holy Spirit:

"...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God Who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."
[Philippians 2:12-13]

Really, though, my take on it is that what you're talking about here is not really sequential in the manner you present it as, but one total work of God, as the Ephesians 2 passage above says; according to the will of the Father, we are saved (sealed by the Spirit) through faith (the Spirit works saving faith in us).

Grace and peace to you, RD.

There were millions of people who were born and died before Jesus was born. Were they all doomed because they had no way to remission their sins?

The church has been a massive failure in not baptizing in Jesus name. They have omitted it to their demise.
I ask you the same question
There were millions of people who were born and died before Jesus was born. Were they all doomed because they had no way to remission their sins?

Peter told previously saved saints that they murdered Jesus, to repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins and then they will get the Holy Ghost?...

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost....

Also, they could not save themselves?...

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

You are very disconnected from Peter.

They will be judged per Rev 20.

Abel, Abraham etc, offered the remission sacrifices for mankind after the fall and before Moses.

Think about that a bit.

He told them they condemned him to be crucified. Which they did when they chose Barabbas to go free instead of Jesus. Which hearkens back to Leviticus, by the way. And his hearers knew then that they had done this to the one Person who could save them, their Savior, even God Himself, and that's why they were "pricked to the heart" ~ convicted internally by the Spirit.

Also, they could not save themselves?...

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Absolutely not. Not in the truly salvific sense. But his exhortation was not in that sense. Peter knew very well that the initial act in salvation is on the part of God via the Father's call and the Spirit's work in the heart of those called:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
[1 Peter 1:3-5]

"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall."
[2 Peter 1:10]

At the very end of that 2nd Peter passage (the last sentence, emphasized by me), he's basically repeating what he said in that verse that you cherry-picked from Acts 2 (verse 40).

You are very disconnected from Peter.
Well, I'm very disconnected from what you apparently think Peter to be saying, but that's a good thing. :)

Grace and peace to you, Truther.

Moses provided the Ten Commandments carved in stone.
Ten Commandments
1. .,,.,.,.
2. .,.,.. I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
3. ..,.,.,
4. .,.,.,.,
5. .,,.,.,.,.,,.
6. Thou shalt not kill.

Exodus 2:11-22
11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.
12 Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

Moses knew murdering someone was forbidden. Moses carved this in stone. And yet Moses murders anyway.
BTW: The Pharaoh sought to punish Moses for this murder but before he could be caught, Moses gathers all the Israelites living in Egypt and flees. This marked the great exodus.

Do you believe God forgave Moses-?

You, as an Acts skipper, need to look carefully at the verse again....

Now, tell me if Peter was saying their sins were already remitted when he said that?

Of course not.

He did not say this as you surmise....

38 Then Peter said unto THOSE THAT ALREADY HAD REMISSION OF SINS, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

...which you folks teach.

Yes.

Both Law AND Grace coexisted since the garden of Eden.

Moses found the grace of God.

LOL! Sure, we all need to read the Word of God many times over. "Acts skipper." That's quite funny. You Acts skipper, you. LOL!

Well that's kind of the problem; I don't "surmise" what you apparently think I surmise. You're putting words in my mouth, which is... uncool.

No, "we folks" don't teach that. Like I said, "you folks" (see what I did there?) put words into "we folks'" mouths. Now, that may be unintentional, but at the end of the day, whether it is intentional or not matters not; it is what it is, and it shouldn't be done.

Grace and peace to you, Truther.

Come on, fess up. You know you’re an Acts skipper and all you guys think you can skip Acts 2:38. Not one of you fellers will ever obey Acts 2:38. You run from it like the plague. Come on man!

Acts 2:38 is the very first command to sinners from the Apostle Peter on how to be saved. You guys disagree with Peter and want nothing to do with it. I just can’t imagine why?

No, they gave commands.....

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

That is serious business.
