The thief on the cross was not saved through New Testament salvation. Jesus was close to death, but not yet dead...

Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Jesus is eternal. He preexisted the world that He created and His reign is for all time. In other words, He is eternal.

I believe the gospel by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of my salvation. (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) No supplements needed. Spirit baptism is the reality of being buried with Him into death and raised to newness of life and water baptism is the picture of the reality.

You claim that you do, but you deny the burial.

Nice smoke screen but what does that have to do with the thief on the cross.
The gospel is the death, burial, resurrection of Jesus Christ. The gospel was not put into effect until after these were accomplished.

The Lord’s church is the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:18,24) that is made up of all born again believers, regardless of what church building with a name stamped on it that meet at on Sunday.
Then give me the name, description of the church you are a member of? How many times are you going to avoid my question?

Please make up our mind. The Is Only ONE Baptism, Today, Under PURE GRACE!
(Ephesians 4:5),
not two, so which is it, Spiritual or physical?

GRACE And Peace...
Both Holy Spirit and water baptism are spiritual.
Ephesians 4:5 is water.
Matthew 28:19
Jesus commands His disciples to do the baptizing.
Holy Spirit baptism is done directly by God.
Water baptism is done by a man baptizing another man.

A non-believer needs to hear the word, and then repent.

You have this to say...

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God(Repentance) is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Danthemailman needs more learning on Biblical repentance.

He thinks because you change your mind to believe that is the change of mind in repentance.
So, if I decide to go to the grocery but then change my mind that's repentance.
Apparently changing your mind is repentance to Danthemailman.

His faith alone salvation will not allow him to have repentance as part of the requirement to be saved.
He knows the Bible teaches repentance, so, what to do with it?
His churches solution. Move it before Faith!

Unfortunately this does not help Danthemailman's doctrine of Belief only and no supplements.
Its obvious that he still has to repent.
Doesn't matter where he moves it.
If you HAVE TO DO SOMETHING
That makes it an essential requirement to be saved!
I've asked my friend Danthemailman if he can be saved if he does not repent before he believes.
He hasn't answered that question yet.

I'm still hoping he will.

btw, I dont think you need help. Just wanted someone to chat with. Little bored right know.
Take care.

You continue to misinterpret those verses and teach salvation by works. John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. You are in the wrong church.

According to you I'm in the wrong church. If you love me, then you will tell me which church is the right church? What church are you in? You never said.

If a Pastor addresses congregation and says, "Brothers amd sisters, I have an anouncement to make. There are tares in our midst, beware." He is addressing the majority, warning them of evil doers.
Capisce?
I'm really sorry that Christians on this board do not believe that their salvation is secure and sealed, that OSAS is the truth. This negative view gies against the Author of our faith. He either begins a work in us and finishes it or He us not an Author at all.
"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom. 8:38, 39

If OSAS be true then God takes away your freewill when He saves you.
If a Christian becomes an unbeliever Hebrews 3:12. And begins to hate Jesus because he felt he wasted many years of his life in religion.True story I just talked to a man like this.

Then when he dies he will have to praise God for all eternity against his will.
Hell is where those who want nothing to do with God in this life get to go.
They wanted total separation from God now. So God allows them because of free will to go to a place in the next, separated from Him.
But if OSAS be true, and someone who was saved turns against God and hates him.
Person in my family did this very thing.
This person has had their freewill taken from them because God will force them to live with Him for all eternity.

If you think this is far-fetched, remember Jobs wife. She was saved at one point in her life.
And what did she think of God when She and Job lost everything? She told Job to curse God and die!
Job 2:9.

So if OSAS be true. God takes away your freewill when He saves you, and you become His robotic slave without choice.

more nonsense from you. You cant lose salvation. If you fall from faith, you were never saved to begin with.

So, the RCC cursed you to their baptism?

If so, why were the disciples of John REbaptized in Acts 19 in the name of Jesus Christ?

Is the RCC baptism of infants more powerful than John's(whom baptized Jesus)?
Cursed? Once baptized always baptized unless you give up your belief in God or Christ.

There are multiple healthy, well balanced churches which hold to essential Christian doctrine that you could attend, yet sadly, there are also multiple false religions and cults who do not hold to essential Christian doctrine and pervert the gospel.

Church of Christ - Faith Facts - Faith Facts

The name of the church I attend is Abundant Life which is a non-denominational evangelical church.

Danthemailman, we are saved by works! It is impossible to be saved without works.
Your gospel goes against God. Do you think you can be saved without the works God does to save us?

John 6:28-29
And they said to Him, what shall we do that we may work the works of God?
Jesus answered and said to them, This is the WORK OF GOD, that you believe in Him whom He sent.

You are saved by works! The works of God.

Faith and no works salvation is against the Biblical gospel. It is heresy.
Amen, James insists works are involved in salvation.

The truth is, even personal decisions to serve God are a human work.

No way out of it.

The verse you display was a unique day, Pentecost. Some of these listeners from many nations and languages heard Peter preach powerfully, repented (turned to God for the first time in their lives), believed in Jesus and were baptized by the Holy Spirit. There was no water baptism there at the time. They were immersed into Jesus' name for forgiveness ifx sins.
I repented and believed in Jesus and was baptized by the Holy Spirit in the same way - without the tongues of fire.
Much later I was water baptized into the name of the Father and of the Sin and of the Holy Spirit.
Peter really meant this?....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you BY THE HOLY GHOST in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

...that makes zero sense.

Who teaches that?

Hello, you are correct on many accounts.

How can you say the church bears no name?
The founder of the church is its identity.
The founder is the builder
The founder is the Head of His church.

Matthew 16:18-19

The church has been named, Ephesians 3:15
From whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.

The church belongs to Christ and thus wears the name of Christ,
He built it,.
He is the head, Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is head of the wife as also CHRIST is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

He purchased it with His blood, Acts 20:28.

This is why it is identified as the church of Christ by Paul, Romans 16:16.
Why not just call the church what it is?

As the bride of Christ, the church wears the name of Christ,
2Corinthians 11:2
For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Ephesians 5:24-32
Therefore just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their husbands in everything.
Husbands love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.

Peter taught that salvation is in a name,
Acts 4:12
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Christ is the only name by which we are saved.
His church is the church of Christ.
I am saying the church was never given a legal name as we see them today.

It was defined only by the Acts 2(38) doctrine and experience.

It does not matter if someone today joins the "Gloryland, Jesus, Holy Saints of heavenly places, hallelujah angel band etc church".

They might as well call themselves the Bullfrog church if they have not yet obeyed Acts 2:38.

Peter was speaking here but yeah, Christ was speaking thru the Holy Ghost in Peter, but you are misunderstanding Him.

All that deflection for what message are you getting across? Is it "Jesus does not save. Water baptism does." ?

Another deflection while ignoring the obvious that Peter deferred form water baptism to the preaching of teh cross as it is the ower of God in salvation to save those that believe.

Jesus did say that a lot.

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

I could go on, but there it is.

What is the difference between you and me on this issue? My testimony glorifies Jesus Christ as my Savior by believing in Him is how I am saved whereas your testimony testifies that whoever does the water baptism by whatever church, is the savior because Jesus did not save otherwise.
Question:

Was Romans 10 written to sinners or saints?

Pick one.

One hint before you answer....

7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

We are placed into the body of Christ when we believe the gospel. (Ephesians 1:13) By ONE SPIRIT we are baptized into ONE BODY.. (1 Corinthians 12:13) This is Spirit baptism and not water baptism.
This is Spirit baptism?...

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Like this?...

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized BY THE HOLY GHOST into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by THE baptism OF THE HOLY GHOST into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death BY THE HOLY GHOST, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified BY THE HOLY GHOST with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Etc....

You need to rethink this idea of yours.

We are buried with Christ by water baptism in his name, not the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost gives life, repentance brings death and water baptism is our burial. This is Christianity 101.

No, I gave up my belief in the RCC and was rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ like the disciples of John were rebaptized in Acts 19.

Don't twist or add words. Jesus baptizd them with the Holy Spirit. They were given a new spirit and the Holy Spirit came upon them and dwelt in them from that time on. God is One: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Are you saying the Holy Ghost remits sins instead of being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins per Acts 2:38?
