I've said countless times Genesis 2:7 plainly tells us all what a "Soul" is: that which comes into existence as a consequence of the union of the Body and the Breath of Life. This is inarguable.Where in the Bible is THAT 'rule' written? Do you even know what the 'soul' is?
Now, if the Soul comes into existence as consequence of this union, it simply stands to reason that at the disunion of the Body and the Breath of Life aka "death", the Soul cannot but cease to exist. That is why the Bible says "the soul of the sinner, it shall die" and converting the sinner from his error "shall save a soul from death". Moreover, "God alone hath immortality" and grants it only to those who "seek for immortality" because they don't yet have it - the sinner is not seeking for it, therefore he will not receive it. He will suffer the "second death" in the LOF at which time he will pass out of existence in eternal death...everlasting death...a death from which THERE WILL BE NO RESURRECTION.
The problem is the context suggests no such thing as Jesus and the thief having gone to paradise that day. Paradise is where the Father is, and Jesus said Sunday morning "I have not yet been to My Father". Jesus merely died and was buried on Friday just before sunset when the Sabbath began.I don't really care about the majority use of 'semeron'. I care about contextual use.
I do not see Luke 23:43 ALONE as 'proof of my position'. I see it as one piece of 'evidence' along with other evidence(s).
Foxe was a former catholic and this dispute with Tyndale occurred BEFORE he left the papacy. Also, Laws and Scriptures are synonymous for the purposes of this point of discussion. You papists are so brainwashed, such a blasphemous thing as saying God's law is inferior to the pope's law won't even move you to denounce him as the leader of the antichrist system that he is.Foxe was NOT Catholic. He was PROTESTANT.
"Foxe resigned from his college in 1545 after becoming a Protestant and thereby subscribing to beliefs condemned by the Church of England under Henry VIII."

Foxe did not tell Tyndale that "the word of the pope was superior to Scriptures."
"After the meeting with Bell and other church leaders, Tyndale, according to John Foxe, had an argument with a "learned but blasphemous clergyman", who allegedly asserted: "We had better be without God's laws than the Pope's", to which Tyndale responded: "I defy the Pope and all his laws; and if God spares my life, ere many years, I will cause the boy that driveth the plow to know more of the Scriptures than thou dost!"[23][24]

Hello? If the shoe fits, wear it.In fact, some of Foxe's writings were used to attack the RCC.
Church historians who are far more learned than I have stated this to be so. It's estimated by them that the number is between 50 and 150 MILLION "heretics" were murdered, many thousands in just ONE NIGHT during the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre. Did you never read of the Inquisitions? The many terror campaigns against the Waldenses? The Lollards? The Albegensis? The Bogemills? The lying papacy led many a child to fear the "cannibal Bogeyman" which was a Bogemill who would come and "eat their flesh and drink their blood" - because they refused to partake of the Eucharist, as did all who knew the truth, and held fast to Biblical communion.I think what I posted above renders your sentence inconsequential.
I'm not denying that the RCC has less than a stellar history. What I am questioning is your assertion that "MILLIONS and MILLIONS" were murdered at the hands of the papacy. I would have accepted “many” or “a number of” or even “thousands”. But "MILLIONS AND MILLIONS" is a clear exaggeration on your part. Stick to the facts and provide your authoritative verifiable sources!
So, you admit you refuse to believe anything written other than that which bears the stamp of the Imprimatur, right? How naive. Did not the pope Julius award Archbishop Marcellus a prestigious post for flattering him with "thou art another God on Earth"?So, you admit that you don't have the original source, right? You're simply dependent on a line or two you read on the internet, right? Because the internet is ALWAYS 'truthful', right?
Why was this "heretic" not immediately handed over to the State for execution? Could it be the pope agreed with him? That's why the prophecy said the "man of sin" would "show himself" to be God - he wouldn't come out and say "I'm God", but merely "show" or "give the impression" that he's God by virtue of his own implicit and sometimes explicit words and his supporters' explicit words.
I'm not interested in reading the work of revisionist historians. I've already shown you the papacy outwardly pretended the problem of "heresy" was limited to a pocket here and there in order to prove how "everybody just looooooves the papacy" but in secret they admitted that "heretics" were an "infestation" that was "universal".By the way, the documents mentioned in this thread aren't “being hidden” among the papist archives. If you want a copy of the source, you can either find a library that has it and/or, purchase a copy of it. The online libraries I've searched either don't have copies or don't have the copies available.
Thank you, but I'll trust my Protestant sources.
Yes, that's what happened. The millions of people who adopted the Bible as God's truth and only guide for humanity decided to get together and ignore "thou shalt not lie" in order to frame the papacy as "antichrist" and expose it as the most corrupt organization on Earth.I don't go by the majority (as you seem to do) JUST because it's a majority. I also don't go by "claims." Is it possible that a group of 1000 can lie? Sure, if they all HATE enough. Is it possible that only ONE may be telling the truth? Of course, even if a thousand don't believe him or her.
See, I could forgive the papacy if they claimed the Bible is their only guide but violated it through misinterpretation - the Protestant world does that. The crime of the papacy is that they make it their boast that the Bible says one thing but they tell you to ignore that and do it their way. Protestants who refuse to abandon their papal seductions will share in the same fate as the papal Beast.
The papacy fits all the identifying marks of Bible prophecy! No, not "all" the history books ever written are a pack of lies. Try reading Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong; a 1995 book by James W. Loewen.
Anti-Catholiseecs have been saying that the Pope is the anti-Christ with every turnover of a new Pope for the past several hundred years. It's nothing new under the sun.
"Another strategy early Protestants used to justify their separation from the Church was to accuse it of being run by the Antichrist, whom they identified as the pope. This too is out of whack with Scripture, which identifies the Antichrist as someone who claims that Jesus Christ has not come in the flesh (2 John 7). That’s hard to do if you are the pope, since your job rests on your being the vicar (representative) of Jesus Christ until he returns to the earth. Nevertheless, early Protestants made the claim, as some do today."

La Salette: Sorting Fact From Fiction
In recent years radical traditionalists have been attacking the Church using a line allegedly uttered by Our Lady of La Salette: “Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the Antichrist.”www.catholic.com
You have never studied why they conclude this from Scripture.
You are not interested in studying why - you only know it's "false".
You, like Jesuits Alcazar and Ribera, approach the Bible with preconceived truth instead of a search for truth, and is why God will remind you on Judgment Day of this conversation when you ask Him why you're being judged.
Jesus set up no such thing - do you not understand that God Himself tore that veil in the temple and that was a sign of no more earthly mediation? The papacy didn't 'set up' the earthly priesthood. Jesus did.
You papists will be judged for refusing to accept "there is one Mediator between God and man" and demanding God approve your counterfeit priesthood.
That is the most glaring example of Biblical distortion there is. How many is "one"? 50? 100? 1,000? 10,000?We DO agree that Christ is the "one mediator" between God and man. As for why we ask others to intercede for us well...it's in the Bible!
