(33) And they have turned the back to Me, and not the face; though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction.
(34) But they set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.
(35) And they built the high places of Baal, in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech; which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. Jeremiah 32:33-35 MKJV

Baal is the deity of that has power over natural forces, or what we would call today the environment, Molech was a deity which was worship through human sacrifice, He was usually hollow with a place for a fire to be built inside of it, they stoked the fire until the hands of the idol which were extended out became red hot, them those that worship the idol set their infant children into those red hot hands to be consumed. Idol worship usually included temple prostitutes who became a part of the overall debauchery of these flesh fests. God through the Prophet Jeremiah called these acts abominations!
The correlation to today’s society is the fact that Environmentalism ( worship of nature ), Abortion ( human sacrifice) including outside of the womb, and Fornication ( all sex outside of biblical definition of marriage ) are acceptable in our society today. The most unfortunate thing is that it is even condoned within the house of God. This is an abomination, that provokes the wrath of God like it or not, God has never changed his mind about unrepentant sinners who with pride and arrogance mock him by their blatant sins.
The good news is that Jesus Christ the son of the Living God came that we might be saved, salvaged, and sanctified through his atoning sinless blood. Receive his forgiveness today and receive a new life.
