And even Jesus died a sinner's death!I find it fascinating that God would have Elijah and Moses body go directly to heaven but the mother of His child has to stay here on earth.

To make the leap that every baby born on this earth is born with sin.....!!!! It is going to take much more than that for me.This is true, but David was talking about his moral failings in Psalms 51, so I have always taken his statement ("in sin did my mother conceive me") to be a more general statement than the circumstances of his conception.
For one, how do you think Hades got into the KJV? lol Hades is a Geek god...that presides over a realm called Hades. The Hades does not appear in the OT or the NT....Find the reason why the KJV wanted to use it.
The reasoning will be close to the reason why the KJV wanted to insert the Latin word Lucifer in an English translation.
Deep study.....
And like I said you will have fun debating these things. I am not going to take a side on the issue because there are too many varying beliefs.
Saw the Assumption? What's even more fascinating is that our Christian friends were (apparently) there and saw all of it happen.
What the heck does that have to do with her allegedly dying in Turkey??where is Scripture did anyone pray to mary ?
first of all luke 19 is not describing Jesus bit Zacchaeus who was little in stature.Only what Scripture reveals....
As I said...
Not particularly handsome, nor particularly tall, or having Particular fine apparel ...
Outside things...^^...when Jesus' teaching is about what is on the inside that matters.
Isa 53:
[2] For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Luke 19:
[2] And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
[3] And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
[4] And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
John 20:
[1] ... Mary Magdalene ...
[14] And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
[15] Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

Actually what I'm talking about is two men, and all of humanity is either in one, or in the other. We are not isolated individuals, rather, we are humanity. All are in Adam, except those who are in Christ. If you talking about the fact that the sin of Eden would cause the death of Adam and Eve and their descendants...that is pretty much the storyline. God said ~~ On the day you eat of it, you shall surely die....well it is apparent that He meant that on that day he would start to die. But that is not discussing babies born in sin.
In the period of Augustine he is going with the flow where the church pretty much thought that women and sex were of the devil.
So if it involved sex and a woman it had to involve sin. I can provide statements of the ECF that believed all this. But it is a lie.
God's first commandment...be fruitful and multiply...is repeated throughout the OT, as with the promise to His champions that their descendants would be like the dust of the earth....sands of the shores....stars in heaven etc. God created desire, God created the physical aspects of the sexual union and conception.....But early Christianity wanted to link it to the devil.
it has everything to do with praying to her which is heresy. try following the thread. What the heck does that have to do with her allegedly dying in Turkey??![]()
I am so embarrassed. I meant Enoch and Elijah!! :cool:I find it strange that you preach God had Elijah's Body and Moses' Body go straight to Heaven....
Where does any Scripture Say God would have Elijah's Body and Moses' Body Go straight to Heaven?

That seems like a fair summary!OK, so in your view, reconciliation is somethat that happens between God and the regenerate, to restore the separation induced by their sins. That there is a relationship that the regenerate have with God, and that relationship is broken by sin, but that if the sin is confessed to God or to His agent, then the relationship is restored. This is correct?

Yes I understand. Hades is Greek. As I said it is a Greek god. The apostles had the task of writing Christian scriptures into a Pagan language.Hades is the Greek word that appears in the manuscript. It has nothing to do with the King James translation, although I don't think they should have translated gehenna and hades both as "hell".
Your question doesn't really make sense to me.
You seem to have the idea this is something I've not studied before.
I do have fun debating these things, actually. At least, when others are willing to play nice. Not everyone does.
Much love!
Romans 5 shows us the difference between sin, and the imputation of sin. Sin is not imputed when there is no law. This connects accountability to what we've been given. Before God gave the Law, He didn't impute men's sins to them. They still died, because sin kills. But even so.To make the leap that every baby born on this earth is born with sin.....!!!! It is going to take much more than that for me.
People have beliefs that are outside the scriptures and you know I cannot criticize that! lol But in my beliefs, when a baby dies, angels escort its soul to heaven...no sin in heaven.
Thank you! That seems like a fair summary!
People had been following women long beforeI don't know. Maybe because nobody would have followed a woman???
yes, The Lord can make anybody perfect/free from sin. Look at the apostles and Paul-With The Lord, all things are possible. Is it possible that God made her perfect and blessed her so in order that she could remain free of sin?
What you are talking about is something you believe. Nothing in the Bible or history.Actually what I'm talking about is two men, and all of humanity is either in one, or in the other. We are not isolated individuals, rather, we are humanity. All are in Adam, except those who are in Christ.
This may take some study!
;)
Our souls will praise Him, alone.Perhaps I wasn’t clear. I apologize.
Once you have died and (hopefully) your soul goes to heaven YOU (your soul) can no longer pray?
Mary
Yes I understand. Hades is Greek. As I said it is a Greek god. The apostles had the task of writing Christian scriptures into a Pagan language.
It is for certain that the Apostles were not thinking of a Greek god or his realm. Translating Christ words into a Pagan language had its inherit issues and misunderstandings. Hades has nothing to do with Christians.
Actually, I'm hoping to start a thread on this, and assuming I do, I'll be sure to invite you! I think it's very much in the Bible. What you are talking about is something you believe. Nothing in the Bible or history.
His death ALSO reconciled us! Scripture makes it clear there is more than one way to reconciliation. I would refer you to Romans 8:7 and Colossians 1:21-22 about the "enemies" thing. So then in Romans 5
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement (Lit. reconciliation).
What does it mean to you that "we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son"? And how did that happen "when we were enemies"?
Much love!
