So is this.
1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
God never wants us to be confused, about who or whose we are or where we are going. He is not the one who brings confusion into our lives but peace (1 Corinthians 14:33).
God allows confusion ...he allows the enemy to confuse us.....that’s when we walk in trust and faith.... just as his word says above....God is not the author of confusion.
I never said that...that came from the commentary I posted.
It’s in his word.
Bible Gateway 1 John 4 :: NIV. Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
Also by checking what they preach with the written word.
Your understanding of the word is different to mine.....
According to the Bible there is a specific way to test a spirit to see if it is a spirit of false prophecy - do you use it and how did it work out when you did?
1 Jn 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world
That is the test written in the Bible to use to test the spirits!! It is for testing spirits!! But the thing about it is that to test spirits you must first be able to hear spirits! If you heard with your spiritual ears, then you would seek Jesus Christ and find Him, or did you not read about how if you ask for a fish He will not give you a snake? So if you ask for Jesus Christ, whose early symbol among Christians was a fish, He is not going to give you that snake in the garden, is He? No He is not!!
But you might also find that an evil spirit will sometimes try and talk to you later, and you will suddenly pick a another spiritual voice. So you are to test it, but using the very specific test written in the verse above. Do you do that?
Note that it does not say to go to your Bible and lean on your own understanding!
So are you even actually following the instructions in the Bible?
And did not the Lord go over this with you personally? He did with me.
And so when I test the spirits - and I will tell you though on this forum I have asked many posting here this same question by have yet to ever get an answer from them. It is as if they say Bible, Bible, Bible, but don't actually even do what is written in the Bible. Yet I can tell you, because I have used that test many many times!
About nine times out of ten I find out that it is the Holy Spirit speaking to me, even though I wondered about what was said. I turns out that His thoughts are not my thoughts, just like written, so my ability to understand that it is the Lord when I first hear is not what most seem to think it is. For example, if you were Abraham and God told you to take your kid up the mountain and sacrifice him, it would not seem right to you, would it. But Abraham, without the Bible, still knew the Lord well enough to know it was Him. Now He has never asked me to kill someone, or has He? He has had be take thoughts captive to Him, and I have heard screaming!
So back to the 10% of the time when it was not the Holy Spirit. Often the voice disappears instantly and with often there comes a feeling like the air being cleared. Sometimes I have heard the spirit tell literally tell me, "I can't tell you that." Then you have some choices, like taking that thought captive to Jesus Christ, but you might hear screaming if you do. I have had spirit curse at Jesus Christ when I have used the test. I have also had some tell me Jesus came in the flesh, but I find out they were trying to trick me, because many people have been name Jesus, so make sure you are asking about Jesus the Christ. I have had them try and distract me by changing the subject or answering like some politicians answer a question. So they might say something like, 'Well, I have heard there is something in the Bible about Jesus and there are those who say He was around", but they are not confessing Jesus Christ. They might talk about a testimony of others, but do not have that testimony in them.
But while that is following and applying the test in the Bible, none of it comes from having your nose in the Bible!! And there is another test that I know which Christian who actually hear from our Lord Jesus Christ use. That comes from:
1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
It seems to work pretty good too. Evil spirits are under the leadership of Satan. He is there Lord. And He is not likely to let any of them start confessing Jesus Christ is their Lord, because He does not know their hearts, like God. So confessing Jesus Christ is Lord, or confessing Satan [their boss] got defeated at the cross is not the type of thing he will put up with.
So, like other Christian I know who do actually hear with their spiritual ears, I sometime also use that test and asked for a confession that Jesus Christ is their Lord. The Holy Spirit, or angels that serve the Lord, quickly and clearly confess Jesus Christ as their Lord, Even confessing that gives the joy!
Now it seems to me, and I can see how is could not be unless a person was new to hearing with their spiritual ears, a person who practiced hearing the Lord on those days called 'Today', wouldn't know this themselves. How could they not?
When you get to know and talk to HIm everyday called Today, and a number of time each day, because He is always with you, and do that for some 20 plus years, I tell you that you do not worry about having your "nose in a Bible". That doesn't mean He still does use the Bible and refer to the Bible at times, but your life is made up of sooooo very much more that just the words of the Bible, isn't it. You will find that He talks to you about what to buy, what clothes to wear are times, and did you not ever read this:
Is 30: 20, 21 Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher.
Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
He has often taken me on yard sales to teach me things, and in so doing He was saying turn right at the light, now go up to that sign ahead and turn left,,,, and when we got to the sale He would talk to me about how the sale was laid out, did they have kids clothes, and go over the prices we might want to pay or what I might expect to find. He goes by the name Wisdom, and that because the Word of God gives you plenty of wisdom while He teaches you. And are you being taught of God is you are not hearing Him tell you " “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left." like Isaiah explained??
We don't learn from the Bible we learn from out Teacher, just like is written in the Bible!!
