Jesus delt with a groups of religious people - the Pharisees and Sadducees. That group proclaimed their righteousness together, but they were behind putting Jesus Christ on the cross. They had their noses in the Scriptures but they did not know Him. They did not hear from His Holy Spirit, thought they felt they were the righteous ones. So let us actually take a look at what is being written on this thread. Are they actually hearing the Lord or are they really just leaning on their own understanding of the Scared Writings.
LEARN what JESUS really did and said
If you really know the Lord you are learning from what Jesus really does and says!! That is because you are in fact being taught by Him, and not leaning on your own understanding of what He did and said. He becomes a teacher to you personally, and so you hear Him speak to you and personally teach you, and you can actually tell others the things He tells you. For example He once told me:
WHAT TEACHER DOESN’T PUT A BOOK IN FRONT OF HIS STUDENTS TODAY; YET NOT JUST A BOOK BUT OVERHEAD TRANSPARENCIES, VISUALS, AND OTHER MATERIAL? FOR I TELL YOU TRULY, IF THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO ME THEY ARE NOT MY PUPIL, THEY ARE NOT MY STUDENT; I TELL YOU TRULY, THEY ARE NOT MY DISCIPLE UNLESS THEY ARE HEARING FROM ME. SO DON’T TELL THEM TO READ THE BOOK, THEM TO TAKE THE CLASS!”
Note that with all the huffing and puffing about Jesus, they don't have a testimony about actually hearing from Him and being taught by Him personally. That is because they don't know Him, but they lean on there own understanding. They are not His pupils, His students, His disciples - they are just pretending obedience and learning from Him, and many on that day will try and tell Him they did many things in His day, but will be told that He never knew them, and He does not lie. If you know Him you are taught by Him, and He goes over the Book (the Bible) and that is not you leaning on your own understanding with your nose in your Bible. He also gives you dreams and visions and talks to you personally about them. And He will use all the things He needs to us to help with His teaching and that by discussing them personally with you. For example, He once told me:
IT’S BETTER TO FALL ON THE ROCK THAN TO HAVE THE ROCK FALL ON YOU, BUT ISN’T IT BEST TO CLIMB ONTO THE ROCK TO GET HIGHER?
That was after I was asking Him to help me with an overbite that I had from sucking my thumb as a child. I wanted Him to fix it. He told me to go to the dentist, but I didn't have a lot of money for that, so I told Him that He could fix it for me. He took me on a hiking trip where while walking over a big boulder I fell face first on the big boulder. It almost knocked me out and scrapped up my face, but I found out that it also pushed my front teeth back and when it healed my overbite was gone. It was in that context the He told me the above. What do they know of that from having their nose in the Bible. They don't understand the reality that the Lord is really with us and teaching us.
This is said because they focus on people teaching people, even when the subject is being taught of God. They don't grasp the reality of really learning from God personally!! So they look to each other for all things, including supposedly being taught of God.
I say JUST DO as the SPIRIT leads
This is a Christianism. It sounds great to say "as the SPIRIT LEADS", but the Spirit actually does not speak on His own initiative, but rather the Spirit takes the words of God which belong to Jesus Christ and just gives them to our spirit, so it is not the Spirit who leads of the Spirit who is the Teacher, but Jesus Christ leads us via His Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ is the Teacher and the Spirit acts like a live stream that connects us with Jesus Christ. They don't understand this because they don't actually know Jesus Christ. They have the wrong spirit, a religious spirit, who tries to take the place of Jesus Christ instead of bring the words of God which belong to Jesus Christ to us!
Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
Do you not read that Jesus explained that His words that He has spoken to you are spirit, and not that the words the Spirit speaks are the words of the Spirit, they are His words!
Jn 16: 13 -15 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
“He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
“All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.
So with all their noses in the Bible they still miss what is actually written in the Bible!! That is because they are not taught by God!
We need to stay nose deep daily in our bibles.
Yeah - they make their life about knowing the Bible. But they should have made their life about seeking Jesus Christ and what He has to say.
So they will tell you that the Bible is the Word of God, but it is written that Jesus Christ is the Word of God; that is His name - but that has not been revealed to them even though it is clearly explained in the book Revelation. Their reading it still didn't reveal the He is the Word of God. Only listening to Him reveals what is written.
Rev 19:13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
They say they follow Him, by having their nose in the Bible but the Bible explains that He leads His sheep by His voice!
Jn 10:4 “When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.
He has a voice and it comes to the believer in words, if they practice hearing Him enough that their hearing isn't dull. But because they don't actually listen to Him, the orderly lines of text in the Bible that they actually only read a little hear and there, despite their "stay nose deep daily in our bibles" statement of pride! And Isaiah told of this:
Is 28:12,13 He who said to them, “Here is rest, give rest to the weary,”
And, “Here is repose,” but they would not listen.
So the word of the LORD to them will be,
“Order on order, order on order,
Line on line, line on line,
A little here, a little there,”
That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive.
So like the Pharisees and Sadducees, they have stumbled backward, were broken, snaked and taken captive. Of them Jesus said:
Jn 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Don't be part of that group! Jesus will forgive and talk to anyone who will open up to Him and stop pretending obedience to Him.
Rev 3:19,20 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
He still tries and get their attention, but they don't want to hear from Him. They don't want to believe that He is actually there to be heard from. So they keep their noses in their Bible while keeping the ears closed. So of them it was written:
Ezek 12:2 “Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.
It has not change! Still the work of God is that all should come to know the Son - so it is that He tells me to post on this Christian Forum. If just one person gets their nose out of their Bible long enough to actually seek Him like they are told to do in the Bible, them they will find Him, just like is explained in the Bible! Then they will actually find that Jesus Christ can be a friend, and stop pretending.
If you know Him, and if He starts to call you His friend you have teachings, He personally gives you daily. Things like:
TWO MEN WERE WALKING DOWN THE ROAD, ONE TRIPED OVER SOMETHING HE DIDN’T SEE, THE OTHER DIDN’T BECAUSE HE WAS PAYING ATTENTION.
If you have your nose in the Bible you will trip over something you didn't see.
Is 8:14,15 “Then He shall become a sanctuary;
But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike and a rock to stumble over,
And a snare and a trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
“Many will stumble over them,
Then they will fall and be broken;
They will even be snared and caught.”
Yeah - what He says matches up with the Bible, but the people stuck in the Bible instead of Him don't match up with Him.
Gal 3"22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
