The SPIRIT of PROPHECY .
As the SPIRIT testifies of JESUS THE CHRIST .
Seems to me like many have not the SPIRIT and yet they run to prophesy a fat lie that actually DONT TESTIFY OF JESUS THE CHRIST
it TRODS HIM RIGHT UNDER FOOT . NOW what SPIRIT DENIES JESUS IS THE CHRIST . ANTI CHRIST .
so this lamb wont be following this ecumincal all inclusive broad path false love LIE .
In fact it seems that those who LOVE NOT THE TRUTH , but have rejected the TRUTH , the ONLY TRUTH whereby they can be saved
JESUS THE CHRIST , sure seem to be loving a lie . SOUNDS LIKE a strong delusion ravages the lands and churches now .
And what is it all centered on and about . THEY BELIEVE this is the path that shall lead this world to PEACE n safety .
lets see , did paul ever talk about a time wherein those who rejected the love of the truth
whereby they could have been saved , would be sent a STRONG delusion to believe a lie .
AND what did paul warn they would be chanting RIGHT before the SUDDEN DESTRUCTION came upon them . PEACE N SAFETY .
we got an image that can speak and a system that can control and shut out anyone who conforms not , no buy no sell .
BUT FOLKS THINK WE GOT TONS OF YEARS LEFT .
I got one reminder about all that . BE WATCHING and BE READY for the COMING OF THE TRUE KING draws nigh
and the SIGNS , THEY VERY CLEAR ABOUT THAT .

What are the characteristics of a false prophet?
In religion, a false prophet or pseudoprophet is a person who falsely claims the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, OR TO SPEAK FOR GOD..., or who makes such claims for evil ends.

Actually, a false prophet is a spirit. Have you not read that our battle is not with flesh and blood but with powers, principalities, and the dark forces of this world.

The fact you don't understand this shows you need to seek Jesus Christ more in order to get a better grasp at what is going on around us, and also the meaning in the Bible!

Karl, yelling doesn't help anything... rather than quote lets try to believe what the Lord said... believe it, it is truth. God is in control.

John 10:27 (KJV) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

The above statement is actually silly, because I didn't "yell" in the post quoted. All the capitalized verses in the above are that way in you Bible, or they were a quote that was capitalized from the person I quoted it.

You should really apologize for the statement, but don't worry about it. You just didn't understand.

That is to say:

Heb 3:3-11 Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says,
“TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,
DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME,
AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,
WHERE YOUR FATHERS TRIED Me BY TESTING Me,
AND SAW MY WORKS FOR FORTY YEARS.
“THEREFORE I WAS ANGRY WITH THIS GENERATION,
AND SAID, ‘THEY ALWAYS GO ASTRAY IN THEIR HEART,
AND THEY DID NOT KNOW MY WAYS’;
AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH,
‘THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.’”

Is capitalized in the NASB, and I don't think the author of Hebrews was yelling but rather trying to place special emphasis on this, because of the importance of that part of Hebrews. It still is "TODAY, right?

And " NOSE IN THE BIBLE" was a quote from a post by amigo de christo. He had capitalize it; obviously because he was trying to place special emphasis on it also - and I quoted both because the Bible is places special emphases on hearing the Lord Today, and yet too often Christian are placing the special emphasis on read the Bible as opposed to listening to the Lord. We have got it wrong, and our emphasis is wrong. We make it about knowing the Bible, as opposed to making it about knowing the Lord by listening to Him ourselves.

That was the purpose of the posts I have been making. So you did you miss it. Are you seeking the Lord and His voice like you should. Where is your emphasis at?

How would you know any of this..by reading from God’s written?

If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God.

Please Show me in the word ,where God speaks to only you in a personal way?

Where you never have to consult your Bible?

I won’t further this discussion ..pointless following someone who thinks they don’t need to read the Bible....every time I hear the Lord speak to my heart, I check it with scripture, that’s our spirit handbook, to make sure what we hear is 100% from God.

This is some information that I pray helps you as you journey with the Lord...

Any thought, desire, inclination, or urge we may have must be brought to the Word of God for comparison and approval. Let the Bible be the judge of every thought. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). No matter how urgent the urge, if it goes against what Scripture says, then it is not of God and must be rejected.

The above is a huge problem, and let me go over the ways:

first Rita writes "If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God."

The above statement denies that He said that He would never leave us, and that His name (not the Bible) is called The Word of God!

Rev 19:13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

She is in fact going against what Paul wrote to the Romans:

Rom 10:6-8 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?’ (that is, to bring Christ down),
or ‘WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

And she seem to be someone that what Jesus said to the Jews would apply to:

Jn 5:39-41 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me ;and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. “I do not receive glory from men;

And she is making an assumption that everything the Lord did and said is in the Bible!

Jn 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they *were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself *would not contain the books that *would be written.

So she says ""If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God.", but that just shows she has made an idol out of the Bible, but did not actually read or believe what is written in the Bible.

Did she not even read:

Rev 3:19.20 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Apparently not, because she also wrote: "Please Show me in the word ,where God speaks to only you in a personal way?"

I believe she means show me in the Scriptures, but the Greek word translated Scriptures in the Bible is Graphe and it is not translated "word". Logos is a Greek word translated Word in the Bible and we find it use as His name, like in Rev 19:13 (already referenced above) and in first verses of John -

Jn ;:1,2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

And again we can see that it is used as a name for Jesus and not a name for the Bible. Logos has a more general meaning 'word'. In the Old testament we find the word of the Lord coming and speaking to people. So again 'word of the Lord' (Word of God) was used as the Lord name!! And that because He was the One who came and talked to them even back then!

Gen 15:15 After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying,
“Do not fear, Abram,
I am a shield to you;
Your reward shall be very great.”

So the One we call Jesus Christ appeared in a vision and spoke personally to Abram, and just Abram. And He also talked to Moses personally!

Num 15:31 ‘Because he has despised the word of the LORD and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.'”

Because the name for Jesus the Christ is, The Word of God, you can replace 'word of the LORD' with 'Jesus Christ' and it make sense!

‘Because he has despised Jesus Christ and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.'

Do you not even see that in the verse above, again 'the word of the Lord' is a person and not a book??

And if you indeed hear from Him, how is it you don't know Him as the Word of God (word of the Lord) like John, Abraham, and Moses.. and the other prophets of Old?

Sam 15:10 Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying,
2 Sam 7:4 But in the same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,
2 Sam 24:11 When David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,
1 Kings 6:11 Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon saying,
1 Kings 21:17 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
and I could go on quoting verses like these

Yet somehow you make yourself a discerner of false prophets???

What are the characteristics of a false prophet?
In religion, a false prophet or pseudoprophet is a person who falsely claims the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, OR TO SPEAK FOR GOD..., or who makes such claims for evil ends.

You need to actually be taught of God, and stop leaning on your understanding of the Scriptures! He will help you, because as noted above - He is standing at the door waiting for "anyone", which would include you personally, to open up to Him and listen to Him. He invites even you, to eat with Him and He will eat with you. You then will find that personal relationship with Him!! According to the Bible there is in fact only one thing needed!!! Do you know what it is???

Are you like Marthe or like Mary?

Luke 10:41,42 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things;
but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

It is sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him teach you, personally!!!

So I have only one question for you, and it too is in the Bible you claim to know!

Gal 3:2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

If 'One2question' is sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him, like he claims, then he is doing the one thing necessary! But if you think ""If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God." like you wrote yourself, then you are not doing the one things necessary!

He asked me personally to include this verse for you:
Ps 119:102 I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, For You Yourself have taught me.

He Himself needs to be your Teacher, personally!!

The Five Marks Of Spiritual Maturity.

I found this commentary extremely insightful.

What say you @amigo de christo ?

God wants all of us to grow. Maturity is one of his purposes for our lives. In fact, Hebrews 6:1 tells us, “Let’s press on to maturity” (CEB). God intends for us to always pursue spiritual growth so that we may “be conformed to the image of his Son” (Romans 8:29 ESV).

One of God’s five purposes for your church is to help your congregation grow in spiritual maturity. But there’s a lot of confusion about what Christian maturity looks like. As you’re making disciples, it’s important that you are clear about what it means to grow more like Jesus.

Maturity isn’t about age. You can be a Christian for 50 years and still not be mature.

Maturity isn’t about appearance. Some people may look spiritually mature, but they aren’t. Just because someone appears dignified, it doesn’t mean they are holy.

Maturity isn’t about achievement. You can accomplish much without being mature in your faith.

Maturity isn’t about academics. A seminary degree or a Bible college degree doesn’t make you spiritually mature.

You don’t get to be mature by comparing yourself to anyone else. You become mature by comparing yourself to the Word of God. The book of James is a manual on how to be mature. It gives us five marks of spiritual maturity.

1. A mature person is positive under pressure. “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing” (James 1:2-4 NLT).

Just because you become a Christ-follower doesn’t mean you won’t face troubles. The question isn’t whether you’ll experience problems; it’s about how you respond to them. Do you get nervous, uptight, or negative? Do you grumble?

You can be full of Bible knowledge and still be grumpy while under pressure. A mature Jesus-follower can be under stress and still be joyful.

2. A mature person is sensitive to people. “It is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (James 2:8 NLT).

When children are immature, they are completely self-focused. But mature people don’t just see their needs; they see the needs of others.

In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus tells us that the one thing we’ll be judged for is how we treat others—not how many Bible verses we know or how often we attend church.

3. A mature person has mastered his mouth. “All of us make a lot of mistakes. If someone doesn’t make any mistakes when he speaks, he would be perfect. He would be able to control everything he does” (James 3:2 GW).

One thing doctors often say when you go for a checkup is, “Stick out your tongue.” The doctor uses your tongue to check your health. God does that spiritually, too.

James 3 gives us several illustrations regarding the tongue. The chapter calls it a bridle to a horse (3:3), an udder to a ship (3:4), and a spark to a fire (3:5-6). James 3:8 says, “No one can tame the tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil filled with deadly poison” (GW).

Earlier in the book, James writes: “If a person thinks that he is religious but can’t control his tongue, he is fooling himself. That person’s religion is worthless” (James 1:26 GW). Gossip, spreading rumors, and constant negative talk is a sign you’re immature in the faith.

4. A mature person is a peacemaker, not a troublemaker. “What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?” (James 4:1 NIV).

We all know Christians who make trouble more than they make peace. Conflict isn’t a Christian virtue. In fact, the opposite is true. It’s a sign of immaturity.

James tells us selfishness and judgmentalism are the two biggest sources of conflict in our lives. Both prevent us from the Christ-like maturity Jesus asks us to pursue. Pride keeps us from admitting we’re wrong. Judgmentalism puts us in the place of God.

Christian maturity means learning to say no to a selfish, judgmental attitude that regularly causes conflict.

5. A mature person is patient and prayerful. “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near” (James 5:7-8 NIV).

Patience and prayerfulness go together. They both express an attitude of dependence upon God that marks a mature believer. As James 5 notes, it’s a posture that farmers understand. Farmers do a lot of waiting. You won’t find any overnight crops. We have to wait for God to work in our lives. If you can’t wait, you can’t be patient. Patience is a key element of maturity.

As you’re trying to help people grow spiritually, don’t fall victim to the trap of thinking the people in your church who know the most Scripture are the most mature. Instead, look at how God is changing their character. Ask yourself:

How does this person handle problems?
Is this person sensitive to other people?
Does this person manage his or her mouth?
Is this person a troublemaker or a peacemaker?
Does this person pray without giving up?
That’s the kind of person who is mature and growing in Christ-likeness.

Interesting:

This is what's written:

Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

And in the verse amigo de christo provides - what does it mean to be prayerful - does that not mean practicing using your spiritual senses - and is talking back and forth with the Lord?

And so what does it mean to be patient and stand firm?

2 Tim 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

and since this thread is about being taught of God - is it not - then does not the following verses also apply?

2 Tim 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

Preaching the Word of God means preaching Jesus Christ, that He is near you, that He talks to you via His Holy Spirit, and that we need to practice using out spiritual senses, and be patient and keep explaining and preaching Jesus Christ as the Word of God, Because some will not endure sound doctrine and will turn away their ears from Him, who said He was the Truth and the way.

Jn 14:6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Yet some, by their pride, we try and turn people to themselves instead of pointing people to Him, the way and the truth. They will declare themselves to be mature, though they don't actually point to Him. They read "You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near”, and cannot connect it with:

Rom 10: 6-8 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?’ (that is, to bring Christ down),
or ‘WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

So while Jesus does sit on the throne of God, in the Kingdom of God, with His Father; The Kingdom of God is still in your midst!! So the Word of God we preach is always near us!! We have access to Him TODAY, via His Holy Spirit. He (The Word of God) is not dead, nor is He in some faraway place called heaven that we cannot hear from Him Today - as some would interpret the Sacred Writings. He, The Word of God, is near us Today!

The mature Christian knows this because they practice hearing with their spiritual ears, and even seeing with their spiritual eyes. But the Pharisees and Sadducees did not know this, thought they had the Scriptures and consider themselves mature spiritually speaking. So beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.

Mat 16:6 And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Christians need to seek the Word of the Lord, and that is found near you always, in your mouth and heart, and that is the Word of God we are preaching!!

Will Jesus come back down out of the Kingdom of God and walk with men on earth again? I don't doubt that! But you can walk and talk with Him like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and the prophets of Old did, right now!! He is standing at the door knocking with His voice and if anyone (ANYONE) will open up to Him He will come into you and eat with you and you with Him.

He then will teach you!! Which is what this thread is about, is it not?

There are truths in this but it is only scratching the surface sister .
James said dont fightings and wars come From YOUR LUSTS , YE DESIRE TO HAVE . this is speaking about the lusts of material gain
and etc .
Actaully i can sum it up real easy .
Learn the bible very well . Because mature christains actually wrote them letters .
Now men can twist these letters . NOt saying you did , but just saying they can .
Look at how a mature person views sin and the correction of sin .
What did paul tell the corinthian church , when their faith is matured . THEY will be ready to REVENGE all DISOBEDIANCE .
meaning to correct it sister . a lot of christains are not mature at all , if even they are christain at all .
Now you know i am not attacking you on this subject .
But what i really want us to do is to just make certain on things .
Jesus would not have appeared sensitive to people , not according to what most folks see as sensative .
NOR would the aposetls have SEEMED sensative to what most think is sensative .
Most folks are in tune with another kind of sensativity . the one that wont correct error , the kind that
tries to be sensative to the FEELINGS and emotions of people rather than actually doing all to HELP said person .
Most folks follow sensual versions of things .
SO my challenge to all is this . LET US examine ourselves . You dont have to do it against what i say or anyone else
DO IT AGAINST the WORDS in that BIBLE . LEARN what JESUS really did and said , HOW he did things
And the apostels too . We gonna see a different approach to things .
SO the test i bring to all is this . Go again into the bible for ourselves . when we read it
do not read it through any commentary ,through any view of school or thought .
Just enjoy and embrace it . YOU watch what happens sister . OH i aint saying you are not a lamb . NO mam .
I am saying what is very needful to be said .
Most folks teach us a way to reach people but do so through mens carnal wisdom
and that kind of wisdom approaches one by HOW they think the person will respond to what is said .
IN other words lets use an example of the wrong mindset .
Lets use homosexuality as an example . What are we taught on how to approach them .
We are taught , DONT say anthing about their sin , DONT that might scare them off
DO not say anything negative , just be sensative , just etc .
I say JUST DO as the SPIRIT leads . and if sin is seen or known within the church
correct it . Being grave is in no way a sin . but it sure seems to be a sin to todays people .
we should see it like this .
Imagine if you had a young grandchild . That child was about to go down and skate on the pond .
now visualize this sister .
I am there and i am doing all to be sensative to that child . I am not warning him or her
I am not being in any way serious about the fact they are in grave danger if they get on that ice .
rather i am just pandering to them . I am saying things like GOD loves you . nice skates you have .
maybe saying things like dont you know you should not skate on thin ice , BUT NOT EVEN TELLING
them the ice they are about to skate on IS THIN ICE . And when the child gets on the ice
i do nothing . but i tell myself hey , they will be fine , and i did my job . BUT DID I . DID I REALLY do my job
for the safety and well being of that child . I DID NOT . they got on the ice and now they skate .

I’m sure he wasn’t sensitive in every area, but, the word does say.

16 Be sensitive to each other's needs - don't think yourselves better than others, but make humble people your friends. Don't be conceited. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but try to do what everyone regards as good. 18 If possible, and to the extent that it depends on you, live in peace with all people.

Do you mean they are living by their emotions, rather than Gods word?

I’ve had to be weaned off Living by my emotions...brought to a place of understanding emotions.....we aren’t to walk according to our emotions, we are to walk according to the Spirit...is that correct?

Does being led by the Spirit mean, when it says we aren’t under the law, does it mean that we are under grace?

Galatians 5:16-26
New King James Version
Walking in the Spirit

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [d]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Yes . but there is a kind of sensativity that comes of man and another that comes of GOD .
I do hear you loud and clear dear sister .
Be sensative to each others NEEDS , not to each others lies and sins .
IN other words if i seen you had a need you bet i would help you .
But if i saw you in sin and error , i would correct you .
most people now view sensative as compliance , as a means to NOT correct sin and error . now that is dead wrong .
Being sensative means we LOOK out for one another . we help one another .
and by help that would mean also correct .
because how am i being a help to anyone if i know one is in sin , or unbelief , and yet
say nothing and do nothing . HOW am i helping their needs .
What is , WHO is the number one that ALL NEED . HE IS OUR NEED . yet that need
sure seems to be overlooked by this interfaith age . JESUS is getting kicked out sister .
WELL NOT ON MY watch . as i AM FOR SURE YOU AGREE WITH THAT SISTER .
and sins within that church are something WE DO NOT NEED to be in either .
True men need to step up and teach this people what it is THEY DO NEED
as well as to help them with material needs .
