How would you know any of this..by reading from God’s written?
If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God.
Please Show me in the word ,where God speaks to only you in a personal way?
Where you never have to consult your Bible?
I won’t further this discussion ..pointless following someone who thinks they don’t need to read the Bible....every time I hear the Lord speak to my heart, I check it with scripture, that’s our spirit handbook, to make sure what we hear is 100% from God.
This is some information that I pray helps you as you journey with the Lord...
Any thought, desire, inclination, or urge we may have must be brought to the Word of God for comparison and approval. Let the Bible be the judge of every thought. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). No matter how urgent the urge, if it goes against what Scripture says, then it is not of God and must be rejected.
The above is a huge problem, and let me go over the ways:
first Rita writes "If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God."
The above statement denies that He said that He would never leave us, and that His name (not the Bible) is called The Word of God!
Rev 19:13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
She is in fact going against what Paul wrote to the Romans:
Rom 10:6-8 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?’ (that is, to bring Christ down),
or ‘WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
And she seem to be someone that what Jesus said to the Jews would apply to:
Jn 5:39-41 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me ;and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. “I do not receive glory from men;
And she is making an assumption that everything the Lord did and said is in the Bible!
Jn 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they *were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself *would not contain the books that *would be written.
So she says ""If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God.", but that just shows she has made an idol out of the Bible, but did not actually read or believe what is written in the Bible.
Did she not even read:
Rev 3:19.20 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Apparently not, because she also wrote: "Please Show me in the word ,where God speaks to only you in a personal way?"
I believe she means show me in the Scriptures, but the Greek word translated Scriptures in the Bible is Graphe and it is not translated "word". Logos is a Greek word translated Word in the Bible and we find it use as His name, like in Rev 19:13 (already referenced above) and in first verses of John -
Jn ;:1,2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
And again we can see that it is used as a name for Jesus and not a name for the Bible. Logos has a more general meaning 'word'. In the Old testament we find the word of the Lord coming and speaking to people. So again 'word of the Lord' (Word of God) was used as the Lord name!! And that because He was the One who came and talked to them even back then!
Gen 15:15 After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying,
“Do not fear, Abram,
I am a shield to you;
Your reward shall be very great.”
So the One we call Jesus Christ appeared in a vision and spoke personally to Abram, and just Abram. And He also talked to Moses personally!
Num 15:31 ‘Because he has despised the word of the LORD and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.'”
Because the name for Jesus the Christ is, The Word of God, you can replace 'word of the LORD' with 'Jesus Christ' and it make sense!
‘Because he has despised Jesus Christ and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.'
Do you not even see that in the verse above, again 'the word of the Lord' is a person and not a book??
And if you indeed hear from Him, how is it you don't know Him as the Word of God (word of the Lord) like John, Abraham, and Moses.. and the other prophets of Old?
Sam 15:10 Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying,
2 Sam 7:4 But in the same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,
2 Sam 24:11 When David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,
1 Kings 6:11 Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon saying,
1 Kings 21:17 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
and I could go on quoting verses like these
Yet somehow you make yourself a discerner of false prophets???
What are the characteristics of a false prophet?
In religion, a false prophet or pseudoprophet is a person who falsely claims the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, OR TO SPEAK FOR GOD..., or who makes such claims for evil ends.
You need to actually be taught of God, and stop leaning on your understanding of the Scriptures! He will help you, because as noted above - He is standing at the door waiting for "anyone", which would include you personally, to open up to Him and listen to Him. He invites even you, to eat with Him and He will eat with you. You then will find that personal relationship with Him!! According to the Bible there is in fact only one thing needed!!! Do you know what it is???
Are you like Marthe or like Mary?
Luke 10:41,42 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things;
but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
It is sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him teach you, personally!!!
So I have only one question for you, and it too is in the Bible you claim to know!
Gal 3:2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
If 'One2question' is sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him, like he claims, then he is doing the one thing necessary! But if you think ""If it wasn’t from God’s written word....then it wasn’t from God." like you wrote yourself, then you are not doing the one things necessary!
He asked me personally to include this verse for you:
Ps 119:102 I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, For You Yourself have taught me.
He Himself needs to be your Teacher, personally!!
