What do you mean by ignore the bible.
I don't read the bible and haven't for years. I have gone beyond the bible and hear from God the Spirit just as those who did before the scriptures existed.
So suggest away. The Spirit told me to repent of the bible as it became an idol which came between God and I.
I hear Christ through others as well as directly.
I mean exactly what I wrote.
Any spirit, guidance, teaching that says don't read the bible is not coming from God.
Above are two other posts quoted.
'One 2 question' - writes that God the Spirit told said the not to read the bible because it had become and idol that came between God and 'One 2 question'
'Windmill Charge' claims that any spirit that is telling us that is not from God.
I would like to address this issue, but first I want to state what I have been told this. The first words I personally know if hearing from the Lord were, "READ YOUR BIBLE", and I capitalized it because those words came across to me with a lot of power and emphasis behind them1
Yet the Lord also talk to me about how people do make an idol out of their Bible, and He did it after I had meet with a pastor who was telling me that reading the Bible was hearing from God. Specifically, on the way home from that meeting the Lord started saying to me, "Quad-God, Quad-God, Quad God! Then He started explaining that people make God out to be Father, Son, Spirit, and Holy Bible - and then they actually substitute reading the Bible for hearing from Him. When that happens, He explained to me, then they have made the wood made into paper and written on their god. They have made an idol out of their Bible.
The Lord our God, Jesus Christ, is a person who we can talk to through His Holy Spirit!! He is alive and active, but your Bible cannot think, move, or show any attributes that we attribute to life! It can't make judgements or discern between anything, because it cannot think. I was once told by Him:
"THE SCRIPTURES ARE RIGHT, BUT THEY ARE NOT RIGHTEOUS. THEY HAVE NO ABILITY TO ACT. THEY ARE NOT ALIVE, BUT THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE."
So it is possible to make an idol out of your Bible!!!!
I don't personally know 'One 2 question', so I don't know his habits, thinking, and ways he approaches his life. And the Lord had not specifically talked to me about 'One 2 question'!
However, the Lord did insist that I write on this before completing my work for my business. So I don't know if the Lord told 'One 2 question' to not read his Bible because He was making and idol out of it so reading it was getting in the way of his personal relationship with Jesus Christ as His Lord, but unlike 'Windmill Charge' neither can I say the Lord didn't tell him that. Indeed, it would make sense to me that the Lord would have, if indeed when 'One 2 question' read the Bible, it caused him to not actually seek Jesus Christ and what He says through His Holy Spirit.
I can say this from experience, and it is also discussed in the Bible - and that is the His thoughts are not out thoughts and His ways are not our ways. He is God and a lot smarter than any of us. He also knows a persona heart, their ways, and tendencies, where as neither Windmill Charge, nor I can make that claim. And that also applies to knowing the heart of God, His ways, and His thoughts!!!
Yet from the post 'Windmill Charge' seems to be making that exact claim!! Unless 'Windmill Charge' did in fact hear Jesus Christ personally hear Him tell him to write what He did, and in fact He did test the spirit per the Scriptures (1 Jn 4:1-3) then 'Windmill Charge' is actually leaning on His own understanding instead of seeking God. And it actually seems that 'Windmill Charge' is trying to tell us what God would do and say, but not actually entering in and hearing from the Lord. And there are Scriptures concerning this issue!
Prov 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
Is 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.
So if indeed, 'One 2 question' is someone who is in fact and deed actually trusting in the LORD with all his heart and not leaning on his own understanding, then he is someone who is actually following what is written in the Scriptures. And if 'Windmill Charge' did not seek the Lord before writing what he did but instead wrote what he thought was correct without ever hearing the Lord in this subject, then he is the one who is wise in his own eyes and needs to Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
A spirit of pride will tell you that you know what God thinks, implying that you don't need Jesus Christ our Lord and God whose name is called The Word of God because He has the words of God for us personally!
The Lord once told me:
'Karl, People want to tells others all about Me instead of about Me."
The Lord like to teach me with little sayings and parables, and it is seems to be true. We people tend to want to tell others all about what God is thinking and feeling, instead of just telling them to seek Him themselves!! Of course this is a Christian forum, and exchange of ideas and thoughts we have would also be expected to be presented, and also hopefully teachings, testimonies, and other things about Him would be discussed. But from my experience of over 20 years talking back and forth with Him, I suggest we all seek Him before making in final conclusions on what God told another person or not!! And I also suggest that we point other people to Him and that personal relationship we can have with Him when we go and reason with Him ourselves.
So I admit that I don't know whether 'One 2 question' actually heard the Lord say not to read the Bible. Yet I found that post interesting and could see why that might have been said by the Lord our God. He does not want us to have idols, and we can substitute reading the Bible for hearing Him and that is making an idol out of your Bible!! He did go over that we me!!
And too often I have seen where Christians lean on their own understanding of what God might tell others or not, instead of seeking Him and listening to Him for His understanding. And He has gone of that with me personally also. So beware of trying to be God instead of pointing people to God. Seek Him in all your ways, please!
